  1. just added the chrome mirrors and door handles onto the truck
  2. I had messed up the plastic cover for the headlights and couldn't jb weld it back together so my plan ended up making up a piece of sheet metal to cover the lights and make it look less tortured.

https://www.copart.com/lot/45346291/clean-title-1989-jeep-comanche-pioneer-tn-memphis If anyone is interested in this truck
  4. My Guess is some sort of rock slide/off a mountain. Tree is definitely a really good guess
  5. So I was browsing the interwebs for Comanche's as we all do and I found this blue 89 4.0 manual with a visor, and it is very sad as the condition of the truck now reflects bad events having happened to it. at least the cab corners and rockers look salvageable to save another Comanche but i honestly couldn't imagine this as not a parts truck https://www.copart.com/lot/45346291/clean-title-1989-jeep-comanche-pioneer-tn-memphis
  6. Thanks, I’ll probably end up trying that once I get around to it.
  7. Yes we do, but as of now I’m still very interested in trying to fix the 87 pack as I like the look better, but if I ever decide against it, I’ll dm you
  8. Went through gauge packs a few weeks ago to get a tach. Started with the 3/4 pack w/o tach and tried to put in the 87 only full pack but the gas gauge wasn’t working on that one so I ended up going with the more common red one but I swapped on the black bezel to match the rest. The only thing missing from the pack now is a shift indicator I haven’t cut in yet
  9. they are existent, i was about to swap one into mine but the gas gauge didn't work on it so i had to go with the re cluster. i think mine came out of my dads old 87 xj
  10. The plan is mostly everything, door handles, mirrors, Grille, Grille bezels, and maybe even the elusive chrome bumper/ taillights/ tailgate handle
  11. Thanks man, I’ll continue to post when some more chrome comes my way, I may update with a 3/4 angle or a back angle to show the silver toolbox, and tailgate protector
  12. Got a chrome front bumper for the MJ the other day starting off the journey to chrome
  13. Thanks for the advice Pete I’ll keep that in mind
  14. I got a chrome bumper the other day, i know you said the one thing you may not do is the bumper, but IMO it looks great
  15. I also built the most Ghetto Redneck ramps you’ve ever seen out of the worlds worst pallet, and loaded it into the MJ to bring it to my buddies place
  16. Here’s the build thread I’ve been wanting to make for a little while. It is a 1980’s ish ride on lawnmower that I picked up on the side of the road in the MJ for free. It’s been quite the neighborhood cruiser and a little 4-wheeling. So far I’ve flipped it over once and broken it too many times to count. And for quite a while it lacked brakes. This weekend I got it pulled in the garage, jacked up and dropped the transaxle to fix the brakes also this thing is a wheelie Machine.
  17. This Is exactly my plan with my 89 Black MJ I will post something here once i get some of my chrome for it. also a little advice, if you want all the chrome you may be better off buying a Laredo XJ and taking the parts you need off it. as for the rear bumper and tailights you have to just get lucky
  18. Quick update. Yesterday I was washing The MJ and discovered some paint marks where a White vehicle traded paint with me. I ended up compound and polishing the drivers side bed, cab corner, and door as that was where the paint was. Ill end up polishing the rest of the truck sometime this week as the polished panels are significantly shinier. as usual you can't tell the difference much in the picture but its much more noticeable in the sun.
  19. A Little while back I Decided I was sick of all the tools and spare parts being jammed behind the seat and I decided to put on a toolbox. I started looking online at school one day and when I came home I was Reminded That we already had some Weatherguard box's. I decided on the side mount box and mounted it up in the MJ without drilling any holes. The toolbox sits behind the divers side and is very easily accessible. and as for the stability of it, You can use the toolbox as a seat when its closed with the non bolted in brackets we made to securely hold it. In all its the upgrade I always needed as i have plenty of room behind the seat again. Ill add some pictures of the brackets and the inside organization of the box soon.
  20. Figured I’d share these treasures....Yes they are 2 cab corners a rocker and a bedside
  21. Just found these and Ive never seen them anywhere in the MJ world. definitely not my thing, but I'm sure someone will love them. https://www.ebay.com/itm/NOS-AMC-Jeep-J10-J20-CJ7-Comanche-Wagoner-Running-Boards-Rare/324572438517?hash=item4b92065ff5:g:cA4AAOSwbBxgd6lI
  22. Last year my 4.0 was running a little hot, and the coolant was awful so we flushed the whole cooling system about 8 times and dropped the temps pretty significantly. it also got out a ton rust from the cooling system.
  23. seems just like mine, sometimes mine revs higher on cold mornings upon startup but then drops down just like yours, we all just living that renix life.
