I found the blue cranks but can't find the visor clips. PM me if you want them but I won't go near a Post Office until after Christmas. $10 shipped!

Either I'm color blind or your interior looks grey. I think I have both items but can't look for them 'til morning. I'll let you know!

Thanks for all the help guys! With the part #s and pics I should have no problem getting this axle sealed up and installed under the Street Comanche. The fill plug on the back of the housing just rounded out (allen nut) so I had a short section of 1/2" steel pipe welded through the cover. I'll post some pics once it's in place.

Thanks for the part #s. As you can see, there is a lot of confusion with the MJ 20s and parts suppliers on the web do not even mention the MJ. Now I need to figure out the AMC 20 brake kits for disc conversion or stay with drums. What to do!!

I have a leaky axle seal on the AMC 20 and am going to replace the seal and bearing. After multiple searches I have yet to find a site that refers to the MJ even having this axle as an option. They all refer to the CJs and Wagoneers. Apparently some 20s had an inner seal next to the diff. and others required the diff. lube to grease the axle shafts. I don't want to remove the R&P and LSD diff parts to find out but when I removed the shaft, it seemed to be coated with grease, not oil. Does anyone know for certain, whether or not, if our AMC 20 axles have that inner seal and is the shaft the same diameter as the ones listed for the CJs? Thanks for any help in advance.

I post the ones I feel are priced properly and skip the ones I think are way over priced. This ad doesn't give any info on condition of the motor, trans, etc. but the body looks pretty decent. Definitely worth checking out if anyone lives nearby. It's just outside Victorville.

Good for you man! Are you staying at 29 Palms or do you have to transfer? If you end up at Pendleton I'll treat you to a beer.

I'm not an expert but I will help with what I can. Your PM went to my Profile page and I don't know how to respond from there so this thread will be fine with me for Q & A.

This is why I don't search CL using Comanche. http://sandiego.craigslist.org/csd/cto/3463599051.html

I'm about to refill the AMC 20. What additive is recommended and for what purpose?
-
Why not paint the white letters black? I'm sure there must be a paint designed for that material.

I wasn't sure what to do with the AMC 20 rearend from my 86 parts truck. Either sell it or install onto the Street Comanche but I really wanted a LSD rear for that. I removed it from the truck, cleaned off 26 years of dirt & grime, and took the cover plate off. Wait, what? A factory Limited Slip in perfect condition. I guess this axle will become part of #59 after all. Just wanted to share.

He probably ditched you on purpose, Jim. The way you snatch up Comanches might of had him feel like a loose dog and you're the Dog Catcher!

Air Breather Hose On My Comanche
MJRemi replied to BrandonLH95's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
The hose doesn't suck in air. It directs radiant hot air from the manifold area to the air box with the intent of using warm air in cold climates. The manifold end of the hose is attached with a bracket with a open end. The only reason mine is still there is because of the "visual inspection" regarding emissions in CA. The smog tech even told me it serves no purpose in Southern climates but has to be attached to pass inspection. -
What's The Best Oil Filter To Use?
MJRemi replied to 88blackpearl's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Any quality filter should be fine but Fram has gotten a bad reputation amongst many members. Here is a post identifying two WIX filters, one large and one standard size. http://comancheclub.com/topic/29349-high-capacity-oil-filter-for-renix/page__hl__oil+filter -
92 is the last year and most desirable, however, condition is still important. That truck has high mileage and rust cancer along the rockers and wheel wells. The fresh under-carriage coating could be covering up some serious rust.I would keep looking but if you really want the truck, stick to the $1600 range WITH the wheels on or take off a couple hundred if he keeps the wheels. Repairing rotten body panels is not cheap nor easy.

A non-running truck that has been neglected/abused for a few years prior? $500 is more than fair considering the time and $$ you would put into it it to make it decent.

I don't see any pictures but you have a Peugeot BA/10 4x4 transmission and I think you'll need to check Rockauto.com or TeamCherokee.com to find that mount. Good luck. Your differentials are most likely Dana 30 front and 35 in the back. I have seen Dana 44s in the rear but that is rare. Pictures help but you can image search the two and see the differences in shape to compare to what is under your truck.

Thanks for the heads-up! I watch Powerblock every weekend so this will be on my radar.

I can't take it anymore! Sometimes there is a red box with a 1 or 2 in it next to the Shoutbox heading. I don't know what that is supposed to indicate and it's gotten my curiosity all riled up. What is it? I gots to know!
