That's pretty much the look I want for mine except I am hoping to score a all black interior. I found two black interior XJs on CL but they are selling the whole vehicle. :fs1:

Since you are now a member of Comanche Club, I believe you are morally and ethically bound to get a Comanche. Unless there is a Silverado Club, it will be awkward for us to help you out regarding the Chevy although XJ questions would be appropriate. Just explain to the wife that you are legally obligated to purchase a Comanche and not doing so could have dire, long term consequences. :brows:

I'd like to add the step of using a metal strap wrench for the filter and when trying to slip it on over the end of the filter, the strap contacts the starter and sends sparks flying into your (my) face.

you need just the glass? I have my doors that will be switched out for a different set and the glass is still good. So if need the glass let me know. I think the fixed and pivots are slightly different regarding the rubber and plastic mouldings, which is what causes the issues I'm having. Thank you for the offer but I will grab a fixed assembly at JY or on CL.

I'm in!! But I want to be able to market my "Dehydrated Water Packets" to all our customers.

I managed to score a free "fixed" wing window so I replaced my pivot wing (driver side) to reduce wind noise and water seepage. Now I need to find a good deal on the passenger side.

Very Nice. Did you do the work yourself or have it done?. about how much time/material was involved ? any particular reason for using a caddy fuse panel? That move should definitely solve the clutch leak problem..good work! I hired an auto electrician to solve my wiper issue and he discovered the back of my fuse panel eaten up by clutch fluid. He had the Caddy panel on hand at his shop and had used them in XJs before with success. Not much material needed but a lot of time to transfer each wire to it's proper order on the new panel. He also included all new fuse connectors that were crimped and soldered on to each wire. I know many of you would prefer to do the work yourselves but I just wasn't mentally in the mood for this project and decided to hire a pro.

windshield whippers not working

What does the delay box look like? It's black plastic, maybe 3 or 4 inches square and it is usually velcroed to the lower, inside edge of the driver side lower dash. You can feel it and peel it off the dash. Two wiring harnesses are plugged into opposite sides. The harnesses can be detached from the box and plugged into each other to by-pass the intermittent wiper function, if you have that function. -
My fuse panel was relocated to the passenger side using a Cadillac panel. It's mounted face-down below the lower dash. Hopefully I won't have any more issues with the clutch fluid but it sure won't get to my fuses anymore. The numbers on the new panel coincide with the numbers (not location) on the MJ panel.

My best regards to you, your co-workers, and the family of Lt. Sharp. In my 25+ year career with San Diego Sheriff's Dept., I have experienced a lot of tragedy regarding my fellow deputies being injured, wounded, and killed. Through it all, one thing remains constant. Each of us has chosen to do a job most people would never even consider and each of us would not have it any other way. Heroism is in most "good" people regardless of their occupation and your friend died saving his daughter. I think all of us on CC can relate to that.. Remi

Is that different than "cut & paste"? When I highlite the ad, my edit button doesn't offer "copy" as an option. Do I right-click to copy it or what?

And right next to Commanche is the spell check button. :dunno:

parting out a 1990 jeep comanche (Riverside) CA
MJRemi replied to mj Mike's topic in Craigslist/eBay... i.e. Not Your Stuff
That one has been getting posted for several weeks off & on. If it were closer, I would check it out. -
I can read the "headings" but not the info pertaining to my truck. They must have used a cheap ink because the information is all faded away.

The auto electrician I hired is very familiar with Jeeps and was going to use a ZJ panel but it was crappy when delivered. He said he has done custom rigs using GM panels and he had the Caddy fuse box ready to go. This panel has a cover and a custom "release" bracket so I can lower it from under the passenger side dash. He is also including a diagram and schematic of the panel to map the fuses. He is not charging any more than we originally agreed to. I'll take some photos this weekend and post up.

My fuse panel was destroyed by the leaky C/MC and is being professionally replaced with a Cadillac fuse panel and relocated to the passenger side. I wanted to replace the C/MC with a new OEM but Dealership says they are "no longer available". I've heard only bad things about after market C/MC, so does anyone know of any other (new) OEM make/model that has the same dimensions and port size? If not, I'll go with the ACDelco from Rockauto.

You can still use the door panels. The window switch panel slips through the panel opening and you can easily modify the manual window crank to the new black panel. I believe you can use the seats by transferring the framed sections to your sliders.
-
I can't believe you were able to score a black interior right off the bat. You absolutely need to get the black door panels if they are still on the donor. This seems like a fun build and my preference for color is the Mango.
