    vent windows

Those windows are everywhere I look around San Diego. Be sure the weather stripping is in excellent condition or you will notice a lot of air noise when driving and water leaks when it rains (or washed). I actually replaced mine with fixed wing windows because of the aforementioned issues. Good luck with the swap.
  2. First of all, Welcome! The wipers problem can be from a fuse at the panel, relay, intermittent relay, wiper motor, fluid pump, and even the column switch. Start with the easiest and work your way up. Many of your electrical gremlins may be due to clutch fluid running down the firewall from the clutch MC and down behind your fuse panel. If that's the case, you will have to solve that problem first or you will have constant fuse issues. This may be the culprit of your lighting issues also. The brake handle cable will need to be spliced or found in a parts Comanche. Sometimes EBAY has them. I don't know if other trucks used the same assembly but some members have rigged them to work. If your BA10 tranny needs repairs, don't put money into it. Upgrade to the AX15. Read through the forums and you'll pick up a lot of great info. Ask questions. Post details and pictures of your MJ. Be prepared to become addicted!
  3. If you have a tail light out, your dash lights will not work (to alert you to the tail light out). The computer is a PITA but doable. Remove the lower dash to lessen the PITA factor. If you can remove the brackets and then mount the whole assembly, it will be easier. Grab a window crank from any XJ Cherokee or order from Teamcherokee.com There is a thread on here somewhere about a member that fabricated his own tailgate handle. Check the DIY section. Oh, and WELCOME to CC.

  5. I would buy it but I don't care for front wheel drive. :hmm:
  6. Check your fuel system components. Perhaps the fuel relay or the pump/sending unit. It's hard to diagnose and I'm no expert so hopefully another member can chime in.
  7. Image Not Found Below the air intake on the inside of the throttle body, you can see an oval rubber grommet where the MAP line attaches to the side of the TB. I believe the detached vacuum line would just make the engine run like crap, not prevent it from starting. I am not as knowledgeable as others on here so if I get corrected I will not suck my thumb.
  8. That's pretty cool! I can see how it would be very difficult to donate your Comanche but at the same time, the size of your sacrifice makes the reward that much better.
  9. And if you are lifting the front as well, you may want to lift it before you determine the pinion angle since that will slightly alter the angle.

    Time to Rant

To help remind myself to not curse , I use a Bad Words Jar. Each cuss word cost a quarter and if enough money builds up over time, the contents must be used to take the family out for a meal or movie. I'm usually pretty good about controlling my language but now when I am ready to begin work on the truck, I throw a $20 bill in the Jar to cover me for the next couple of hours.
  13. Looks to me like you got yourself a new Parts Washing Station.

  15. Replaced with new: Brake pads Brake lines Wheel bearings Clutch M/C and had front alignment.
  16. I'm not an off-roader but I have seen some mounted on a roof rack atop the cab.
  17. I also want to swap one in but do we have to re-locate the washer fluid reservoir? It doesn't look like there is enough room.

  23. I spoke to the owner. He bought the truck, stock, about 1 1/2 years ago with 53,000 original miles. He has about $16,000 in it with lift and mechanical upgrades. It still has the BA10 tranny. Selling to free up time and money for other projects. Looking to get in the ballpark of $15,000.
  24. So what would I need to change other than the parts listed above?
  25. I was thinking of upgrading my front brakes including rotors, calipers, pads, and lines. I've noticed the websites differentiate between 87-89 and 90-99 model years. What changed in those years and will it keep me from using the 90-99 stuff even though I'm upgrading pretty much every component?
