Jeep vehicles are very addictive- I have had Comanche, YJ, and {XJ- currently}.. would love to find a clean MJ as a weekend pickup. I if I had it my way i'd have one of each.. I like GC'S too as well as the old full size stuff.. I'm definetly in MJ/XJ phase right now..

that's a little too much to ask money wise...but what do yall think it is worth??

I know- I don't NEED a bigger truck but the mpg's aren't that much better in a small truck and crew cab smaller trucks are not big enough... I will have to look to buy a really good one- Comanche-..we had one when I was a lot younger, it was a 91 bought brand new..put over 350k on it--I put a good deal on it-, my dad sold it and we regret that he did. so, i can manage 8) with a 96 xj, at 105k on the clock and look to buy a sharp MJ to keep in the garage and do truck activities in...you guys are making it a little easier..

no towing to be done... just a thought to have a truck that does all the needs that i have.. but xj and mj can as well...I am a Jeep guy, I've had mj xj and wrangler-- but i I had to get a bigger truck it would be Chevy.. also my commute is not much at all 9 miles a day.. the 2 kids are under 2 as well..so just a MJ is out o the question..

I have 96 4x4 Cherokee...I need a truck, I would love to get another Comanche... I am undecided as to what to do.. I am thinking of selling Cherokee and getting a Silverado extended cab- have 2 kids- OR keeping XJ and getting a Comanche as a weekend pickup/ third vehicle..Sounds like an easy choice, right? Well enter the wife- I got rid of a car and truck a while back b/c I said we didnt need 3 vehicles..She has a minivan.. I sold the car and truck both Toyota's- and got the XJ to save money, -cost alot less than what we owed on car- to do the duty of family hauler/4x4 fun/ truck , but it does not do the truck part as well as I need.. I could probably get a Comanche and keep XJ and still save money, the type of used Silverado I am looking at would be 10k after I use money from XJ sale... What to do?? JUST THINKING OUT LOUD.

the one I looked at today was rusted down there- the owners had never pulled up the carpet!! I may try find a dealership that has a restored one, I honestly don't know if I have the time needed to bring a bad one back to life- I have 2 girls 1 month old and a year old!!!...I don't know but regardless I am determined to get me a Comanche

yes I know where Jot em Down is..It will be my first in a long time, we had one when I was growing up.. And yes I always search Comanche specific, I guess I just missed some..But I have tinkered with some Toyotas recently and they have taken up most of my time but I am now determined to find a good Comanche ..thanks for the welcome

-
thats what I am going to do...I just got back from looking at it- it was decent but needed a lot of work, no way it was a fair trade and the guy knew it...So I will sell the T and look for one either restored or one that hasn't been through a war zone.. thanks for the replies I hope to learn all I can from yall. I am in Georgia so I may get lucky and find some non rusty ones.

1st post  HUGE COMANCHE FAN I have loved the Comanche ever since I was a teenager and my dad let me drive his on the weekends that truck was very very good to us and I have tried to find a 4x4 in decent condition for a long time now without breaking the bank on a restored one-- $5,500+ I have a truck as a weekend vehicle and to do truck stuff in not as a daily driver- Over the years I have leaned toward Toyota trucks and have had really good luck with them..I currently have a 97 T100 that is good condition, it has 243k on it but drives great..it is going to need some work soon around 250k timing belt, rack and pinion, water pump, tires to name a few.. I came across a guy with an 87 Comanche that wants to trade straight up- decent shape from pics..215k on it..4x4 auto- says it leaks a little oil.. Has just been serviced and drives great. Would be a good fixer upper.. these trucks are so hard to come by n good shape. My questions are on the 4.0- how reliable are they?? Our truck I talked about was a 2wd that was babied big time and it was so long ago I forget how much work when in to it lasting so long..what trouble spots besides the oil leak and rust should I look for?? Also would I be a moron for making this trade? the value of the 2 are way off but but my reasoning is 2wd vs 4wd, less mileage, always wanted one, the upcoming cost vs one that has everything- so he says- cost of parts for the jeep would be cheaper as well and like I said it is strickly a weekend truck that I may drive to work ever so often..decisions, decisions. any advice would be apprecieated!!
