  1. Cool, the Neon injectors were installed by the PO, I'll see if I can find some 0280155702's and see if that stops the Pop Pop Pop, thanks for the insight!
  2. I was able to get to this today. CPS is the non-high altitude version Injectors have a bunch of numbers, Side A: 0280155703 I think the first digit is a Zero, but I'm not 100% sure Side B: 5277739 I have another set of injectors on hand that I suspect are Chinese knock off Volvo injectors to try if the ones I have are incompatible. I bought them off Ebay or Amazon a few years ago, installed them and they didn't work, but I was having other issues at the time so I'm not counting them out if I need to swap in a different set of injectors.
  3. I know you checked for vacuum leaks, but did you check that rubber block/vacuum hose octopus near the front of the engine? there is one hose that on my MJ was coming out a little bit and caused a high idle, maybe worth looing at.
  4. Thanks for the input gang, looks like y'all have assigned me some tasks, 1. Pull injectors get part no 2. Pull CPS see if it's high altitude/adjust per Renix tips (there always seems to be something new and relevant there) Once I have these handled, I'll post up thanks again all
  5. Thanks guys, cracked header seems likely, as for the CPS I am not sure if I got the high altitude one or not, I'll see if I can figure out which one it is since I replaced it a couple of years ago. and no REM here, cept on the stereo! It's always something!
  6. Like the title says, whenever I decelerate, whether under load or coasting, I hear a popping sound coming from, I think, my exhaust. Let me say, this has been happening the whole time I've owned this Jeep and i though it had something to do with compression because it happens when I downshift and use the engine to break/slow the vehicle. BUT the other day, I was feeling to lazy to use my hand to shift down, so I pushed in the clutch and let off the gas and coasted around a corner, sure enough the popping began. I have two working theories; 1. The PO put in new injectors (4 holes)I wonder if the injectors are dumping to much gas into the engine at the lower speeds to burn it off, hence popping/backfiring in my exhaust? 2. The CPS isn't signaling the system about the reduction in speed so the ignition is dumping too much fuel. Do any of you have other ideas? Has this happened to you? I've done all the grounding, troubleshooting steps in Cruisers guide, and otherwise the engine runs like a top, I'd just like to iron out this wrinkle, thanks in advance!
  7. How does the kicker sound? is there any rattling? if so does it matter ? I need a sub fo rmy setup, and an small amp as well, but haven't got around to it yet. That looks like a great place to put a sub, not much usable space there anyways, when I go camping/wheeling trips stuff just falls back there and gets lost, I'd rather plug the hole with some sond
  8. This def says 1989 , nice work and yea, I'm sure it was a PITA to squeeze it in there!
  9. That's a sound plan, avoid mucking with disc brake conversions, if possible, it's just another level of "custom" to content with. Post pics from the trip otherwise it didn't happen!
  10. YES REMFLEX FOR THE WIN!!!!!! I second this tip, the last thing anyone ever wants to hear after this kind of work is "tic tic tic" from a manifold leak, leading to the last thing you'll ever want to do TWICE, replace that manifold gasket I use Remflex manifold gaskets exclusively, like Franks Hot Sauce, I put that *** on everything!!
  11. A couple questions, Are you gonna be hammering down with this setup? What size tires do you expect to run? Any axle housing can be cut down to a specific width, and you can figure out what standard axle shaft lengths are that get you over all axle width where you want them. I went through 2 axle swaps on my Scrambler, Ford 9" (with two standard width axle shafts, 36" tires) and a Dana 60 (from a junk yard Ford 3/4 ton van 42" tires), that one had a custom width axle shaft that I had to get cut and splined. My advice is figure out what your end goal is, then build you axle plan from there and gather more info. Hope this helps
  12. I think Master Blaster owns that rig, lol (Road Warrior reference for the uninitiated)
  13. Yep this, I tried using a syphon tube (the kind with the ball bearing at the end, I don't like sipping gas, lol) and couldn't get the end past 12"-15" from the filler tube. From the sending unit side was easy
  14. The end of 311 at Manashtash, it was a long day and a long bridge! Warning I was driving/filming so there's a bit o'the old Blair Witch camera effect going on!
  15. I give too, but we donate to Bloodworks NW, maybe I can still join the club and earn points, I'm up to 3 gal so far woot!
  16. just not busted open and broken works for me, I glued mine back together with gorilla glue and had to use tin to repair the screw mounts, but the reverse light area is open to the elements so when it rains, thing is gonna get wet, lol
  17. kinda cool but still $$, sadly I'm in the market for driver side fixture, durn trees got me a couple months ago in the woods
  18. I regularly see 2 or 3 other Comanches around here, not sure if you are members or not, but if so post up! Also I am looking for someone who knows "where the trails are" around here, DM me, I'd like to know where the locals go wheelin. Peace
  19. After a few years I finally got my new tires: Mud-Terrain T/A KM3 265/75 R16 Same size as my 14 year old BFG TAs, only brand spanking new! The last time I had fresh mud tires was on the CJ8; 44" Iroks, it's going to be a fun time in the Naches this summer for sure!
  20. The old script from what I can tell is baked into the site service/runs on the host virtual machine (Ubuntu ultimately). I saw it (can't remember the name of the resizing service) as an option to enable in the site management settings once but am not able to find the "toggle" again. The "whoever" was working on the site updates in the past sent an email to Pete talking about the underlying database engine having issues post upgrade which somehow degraded the image resizing software etc. but as I am not a database guru I don't know what it meant. Stack that on top of the site is behind a few versions, to get access to the new versions it requires a $ubscription. Once the site is updated, things may or may not work which is a major concern. There doesn't seem to be any level of support beyond another forum for this site service. As for Claude and "Chad GPT" unless you are somewhat knowledgeable of the thing you are trying to fix, I would steer clear of those options. I use Chad daily for my job and honestly, it's a great way to waste time %80 of the time, however there is that %20 of insight that often get me to my solution, but GAWDAMMMMM is it hard to get there. Anyways let m know if you have any other ideas or questions. Ideally if the "whoever" could come back and UN***k this i'd by them some beer
  21. Agreed, not sure who that was or why they stopped but it puts the rest of us in a bind. I wish I have time to learn all this stuff but my job uses up my "tech Brains" by the time I'm off I just want to go out and mow my yard, pull weeds, anything but sit at a computer and do computer stuff. With that said I will keep looking for a solution, there has to be a non Facebook way to continue at a reasonable price.
  22. Negative, less than nothing from them. It appears most of these forums are mostly self-managed, meaning the site owners keep them up to date, customize them etc. I've started looking into other platforms to see if there is somewhere we can bounce to. Sorry gang I wish I had better news here.
  23. I just sent the help request and will report back when I have something to report In the meantime, keep your uploads small people! :-D
  24. I'll ask the sales people at Invision for guidance and will get a solid price then will post up here. I really hope we can pull together to get this handled, this site is a great resource, and community, especially for us "non social media" types, WEB FORUMS FOR THE WIN!!!!
