  1. Oh, the is surprising to me. I'll loosen it CCW then as it is a standard right hand thread bolt.
  2. Is the main bolt left hand thread?
  3. This guy! I like his MJ, only guy of the bunch rocking a stick shift. https://youtu.be/-k9U4uXjsbw
  4. I'd suggest measuring the width of the slot that the weather stripping sits in. There appears to be many online sources for the stuff that can be cut to length with channel widths of 9/16" and 5/8".
  5. I guess it might be worth actually checking the axles to confirm that ratios.
  6. Cool, cool. So has this been converted to 4x4 and the conversion not quite completed?
  7. I like them all. My dream is to mimic the white one or come up with a version for my black truck.
  8. I'll take 4 if you can make up the Eliminator size as we discussed.
  9. Apparently so, though that Oldsmobile was the final year of a car that came out in 92.
  10. Ok, that's a little different. My 99 Oldsmobile Eighty Eight has the same exact same control stock, and if you accelerate, it holds the new accelerated speed automatically.
  11. I've had many thoughts on mounting an assist motor to my rear diff. I'd put a pulley around the diff yoke and toothed belt drive it. Probably a 20-30hp Etech motor and a brushless speed controller that can both be used to drive and regen. I'd controll it all with a custom built rotating ring right under the shifter handle.
  12. This is what I just finished doing on my favorite highway loop. Works great now! Will adjust it some more tomorrow to get it perfect, as I need to drive to Buffalo. Only thing I find odd is the acceleration feature, it doesn't hold the speed you accelerate too, it just drops back down to the previously set speed after letting off the accelerate switch.
  13. Also check your manifold bolts and make sure none are loose or missing.
  14. I'm having a bit of trouble with my cruise after getting it installed. When I engage it with the set/coast button it will just continue to accelerate. I have set the potentiometers to the factory settings, the low speed potentiometer was set very high when I received the control box. Does anyone have any thoughts to check into before I start fiddling with settings? I will say that sometimes it does set to a speed near the speed I wanted but not exactly, usually a bit low.
  15. Bled the clutch of air again. It rarely looses fluid but seems to pull in air at the slave cylinder...

I'd like to make it to Easter Jeep Safari some year.
  17. I ended up installing some door seal material, clipped onto the original angle rubber piece. This material is factory style door seal for an Austin Healey Sprite. The bubble closes tightly on the door. It has reduced some of my wind noise. However, my window seals are shot so there is still more to fix!
  18. Cool looking MJ! My first one rocked white wall tires and I quite liked them on that truck. It is interesting to see just how different the 86 models were.
  19. I found the last time that I changed my oil, I had a lot of valve noise if even a stuck lifter on cold starts for a while. It seems that after the oild broke in the problem went away. Are you using an especially thick oil?
  20. Indeed, I've driven my friend's Model A Ford truck with the foot starter switch. My 62 Austin Healey originally had a pull knob on the dash that operated a cable to a large electrical contactor for the starter. It has long been bypassed for a later three position key and solenoid. There should be no technical reason why a push button start can't be incorporated into an MJ, just comes down to what level of complexity and security you want.
  21. I'm going to have to try something out. I like the idea of slipping a seal over too of the original seal. I have some nice small bubble type door seal from my Austin Healey. I'll update when I try it.
  22. I always quite disliked the push button start in the one car I owned with one since I had to insert the key then push the button, which added a step in where my hands needed to be to start the car. Most modern vehicles solve this with remote key fobs. I quite like being able to quickly shove a key in the ignition, turn it and start the vehicle.
  23. I've definitely considered doing this. Also I definitely have sagging door hinges. I like the method. I hope you did something to prevent galvanic corrosion between the aluminum and the body of the truck.
  24. Anyone know where I can find this door seal along the A pillar? I suspect it is the cause of most of my wind noise.
  25. Could you provide a link to this? I'm tempted as our Comanches have very dim lights, and I'm down for anything that can reduce electrical current draw.
