As Jim said: you can swap pulleys just make sure it all lines up when you are done

It is an imported Fiat. Fiat has a lengthy history of poor reliability. I have read that these share a platform with the Panda which we know as the 500L. Check out the reliability ratings on the 500 line-up

I would say that I was unclear not that you were wrong. It would have saved me some time had it worked the way it obviously was intended to. I could have solved the problem with some washers, also, but sometimes I over think things.

Do you mean like this? On mine The factory bolts were all four the same length meaning that you were supposed to use the same length to mount the fairlead on the bottom as you use on the top that did not go through the fairlead. It only gave a thread or two of engagement on the bottom. I was not happy with that. Even the next longer bolt ( I think I went from 30 to 35 )bottomed out before the bolt head seated on the fairlead. Again another bumper and/or winch brand may have not made this an issue.

So what do you intend to use this for in the end? -
Unless you are in the military or prison people submit themselves to Kalifornia's idiocy by choice. It is like moving in next to an airport and complaining about the noise.

1995 Dodge V6 3.9 engine
Incommando replied to jimoshel's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
It looks like they use the regular small block motor mounts. I don't know if commando/magnum series make a difference. I am not sure what you mean by de-tuning? I have never had to do that for an engine swap. The lack of hippies here means we do not test emissions or inspect or the like so is that the problem? -

Electric fan temp controller
Incommando replied to 88whitemanche's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
That is a basic Hayden controller. The same part number is used under several brand names. It is supposed to support 2 fans at 30 amps each but you can research it yourself if you want. -
1995 Dodge V6 3.9 engine
Incommando replied to jimoshel's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Decent enough engine. Like many V6's it is basically a small block dodge with two cylinders removed. I am pretty sure the small block engine mounts work as well -
My bed was wrecked. I found a decent ( for the rust belt) bed for $150...and it included the tailgate in very good condition ( mine had been bent in the middle and straightened back up) and nice tail lights. I feel lucky.

Many things can cause a pop when turning. A common cause is that the body side mounting hole for the track bar has been wobbled out.

The Although he has it listed as a '96 it is an '86. It has what is to most the least desirable MJ engine ever: the 2.8L Chevy V6. No power whatsoever and poor longevity. It is also a LWB which has its disadvantages for a 'wheeler in that the extra rear length decreases departure angle. Those tires on an early 260-joint D30 is not an ideal situation either. That is important in rocks. It looks decent but that would be lucky to bring $2-2.5 K around here. Buy a beater for cheap and build it. I did and I have way less than the asking price of that '86 in mine for a capable wheeler including new 32" mud terrains, a new winch and front bumper, and a 5.5" lift. I have posted it before but for example here is mine. Although it has some body issues it is daily driver dependable, drives and rides decently, and is capable off road. $400 purchase price + about $2,200 in mods that can be done one at a time to spread out costs:

Everyone has there own tastes. Although I appreciate the effort it took the final product is hideous to me especially that Chinese front end. . I would much rather have the clean 2dr it started from.
-
Make sure you truss that front axle. The have the same bending issues the JK D30 does. It may help being under a lighter jeep.

I plated mine with 3/16" plate,I'm not selling kits but MJ stiffeners are available. https://m.facebook.com/profile.php?id=697135410359554 Nice. And that they have MJ specific ones is great

Again implies I stopped....

#1. A Pile of...you add the substance of your choice. I doubt the suspension works at all with 8" of lift and short arms with no drop brackets. I am running that with 5.5" and I don't think you can squeeze 2.5" more out of it. There is nothing special about that truck. Notice that awesome off road machine has not one off-roading picture posted for it? Big whoop a D60 rear. It still has the D30 front end so .... That is a $2,000 truck and only if you want a trail beater. To ask $9k that guy must be visiting Heisenberg in the desert out there. #2. Now you are talking. The front axle shafts on that alone are about $1,200 IIRC and are a great upgrade. It also has a good truss for the front axle...looks like an Artec. I would still stay around 35 on the tires but he is not the only one doing 37's on a well built D30 high pinion. The pictures show it works well on the trail where you want it to go. It has usable upgrades like the open coolant system. Someone who knows something built this truck. #1 just threw parts at that one. I may not go $6,800 but it a much better buy than #1.

Thanks Don and the others. I have a Rock Auto "advantech" SW107 in my grubby little hand right now and it is blade type. It looks like the part # is right but the thing is mispackaged. X70bajillion. -

Part # for for door jamb light switch
Incommando posted a topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I have checked 5 of these push switches ( two after ordering them on-line) from 4 sources including RockAuto. Every time I get one with a blade terminal. Mine has a female terminal with three holes in a triangular pattern. I just need one of these. If someone has a part number that will get me what I need I would appreciate the help. Or if someone has a used one they want to get rid of that would work, too... -
Ford sells almost twice as many trucks in a year than the total combined sales of the MJ. Heck my truck is rare...
