Don't know where the top of the blue mark is, but the temp going up and down is probably the thermostat opening and closing. Agree with mvusse. I've seen this behavior with other vehicles when the thermostat is going bad. Normally this will also coincide with variations in the amount of heat the heater puts out...bursts of cold and warm. How is your radiator fluid level? Also, does it seem like the fluid is circulating through the system (i.e. are all of the radiator hoses hot to the touch after running a while)? Is it possible the new thermostat is defective? Thoughts?

Box Wrench: A metal tool commonly used to instantly warm your hand when accidentally connecting a hot wire to a ground. For even more interesting effects, make sure the wrench is in contact with a wedding ring. And yes, that one's from experience.

beepbeepmyredjeep replied to veritas4156's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Checked all the sites I know...I'm only finding the front driveshaft for the NP231. Sorry. -
And I'd like to add after that step..."Drink more beer to dull the pain"

Actually Usama Bin Laden is the name on the FBI most wanted list. http://www.fbi.gov/wanted/wanted_terror ... laden/view

It is known that Osama most likely has body doubles. I hope for our country's sake that this isn't wrong, because it will be extremely disastrous if its not him. :USAflag: :USAflag: :USAflag: :USAflag: :USAflag: :USAflag: :USAflag: :USAflag:

Renix Header suggestions?
beepbeepmyredjeep replied to phenryiv1's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
If thats the case, Advance Auto has manifolds for less than $200 last I checked. Part 674-170 fits an '88 4.0L. Once again, discount codes on my website. -
Because sometimes its cheaper to buy a whole vehicle than just a bed full of parts?

The bed looks like it's only half filled with water. So, 2505 lbs of water. :brows:

Renix Header suggestions?
beepbeepmyredjeep replied to phenryiv1's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Is there any difference between XJ headers and MJ headers? Morris 4x4 has a header for the 4.0L, part number PST-701191, but it states it's for the XJ, doesn't mention the MJ. I have a 10% coupon for Morris 4x4 at my website, but I have a feeling that JC Whitney will still probably be a better deal. Another question...whats the difference between a header and an exhaust manifold? -
:rotf: It's 2WD, and he has all of the needed tools, and a concrete floor in his garage, although beer may be involved He's used to working on Ford and GM vehicles, doesn't work on Jeeps all that often. I ordered the new clutch kit last night. Why do I have a feeling I'm going to be one of my own biggest customers on my discount auto parts site?

Needs a rebel flag, a 01 on each door, and a Dixie horn.

Question for you guys. How many hours does it typically take to drop the transmission and replace the clutch an clutch slave cylinder on a MJ? A mechanic friend of mine is going to do it for me in his spare time, and he's not sure how many hours to estimate for me. Good news is, he's only charging me $30/hr. Thanks a bunch!

I am very sorry to hear of this loss. Please make sure he is honored on the Officer Down Memorial Page. http://www.odmp.org/

You might be a redneck if a local radio station holds a "Royal Redneck Wedding"... I'm still deciding if I should attend... http://www.1069theeagle.com/page.php?page_id=65939 Bonus redneck points if you actually get married there.

Just got this bumper sticker in the mail today... It will be going on the MJ after I repaint the bumper.

Thinking of buying another Wrangler...

Thanks for the advice guys. I think i'll be shooting for a 97+ XJ... If the engine ever blows, I can give my MJ a facelift. -
Thinking of buying another Wrangler...
beepbeepmyredjeep replied to beepbeepmyredjeep's topic in The Pub
Guess I should have mentioned the reason I'm considering a Wrangler for a DD. My entire commute is spent on mountain roads. No highway driving at all. It's actually out of my way to take the highway to work. :clapping: I'm looking for something that can take the hills, bumps, and turns, and not bottom out. -
I know a lot of you here are Jeep nuts and have rather large collections. Truth be told, my MJ is really starting to get some age to it. I'm considering putting historic tags on it so I can give it a break and not be used as my daily driver. The mileage isn't high, but I really abuse it right now. I'm considering purchasing a mid to late 90's Wrangler for use as my daily driver instead. We get some rough winters here, so it would be nice not to leave my wife without a vehicle on snow days, since my MJ doesn't have 4wd. So, with that said, what to look for on the Wranglers? Are the prone to the same rust problems as MJs? Death wobble? Anything to watch out for? Thanks a bunch guys!

Stevensville is less than an hour drive from Baltimore and Annapolis. I pass by there at least four times a year. Your best bet is probably going to be getting a job in Baltimore or Annapolis. I don't know the paper for Annapolis, but here's the paper for Baltimore: Baltimore Sun: http://www.baltimoresun.com/classified/jobs/ I did a quick search, and saw a lot of jobs you're probably qualified for. If you're looking for a place to live in that area, I'd highly recommend the Edgemere area - that's where my dad grew up. And finally, and MOST IMPORTANTLY... While in the area, you should go to Captain Harvey's in Dundalk. See: http://www.bestcheesesteaks.com/cheesesteaks/md.htm And yes, their subs really are worth having FedEx'd to California. :brows:

I at one point considered purchasing an old Charger and painting it to be a replica of the General Lee. However, being as close as I am to DC and Baltimore, I thought twice about it.
