  1. Well dang....I reckon I'll have to go get them and put them on. I need all the "cool" factor I can get.

I found this taped to the inside of the drivers door panel. It's hard to read though...
  3. I found a set of these today at the junkyard. I didn't pull them since mine is a 2wd and I hope I never need them...
  4. I went to LKQ today and got me an '88 full gauge cluster to start this modification with. Looks like I'm gonna have to roll the odometer on the new one, forward by about 70,000 miles to make it match the current one. I also picked up a manual window regulator, a couple female seat belt pieces and some other odd and ends I needed. I can't wait to get all this put together!!
  5. I reserve the right to change my mind... After doing some more digging here, it appears I can get a 40 tooth which is gonna put it almost dead nutz on. Thanks Drahcir495!
  6. According to derf's calculation, I get 40.4 which rounded up is 41. I like 88mancheman's train of thought on keeping out of trouble though, so I think the 39 tooth is where I'll land. Not because I would ever speed, but in case the wife drives the truck... Thanks for all the input guys, I appreciate it!
  7. Here are the specs for the truck: '89 2WD 4.0/AW4. Stock tire size was 205/70/15, 26.3" diameter. Current tire size 295/50/15, 26.6" diameter. Stock gear 3.55. Current gear 4.10. I have read that both a 39 tooth or a 41 tooth gear will work. I'm not sure which one. Do you guys have any thoughts or suggestions? Thanks!

Long shaft...that sounds bad, but that's what I wasn't sure about. Thanks!!

This is true and since it is sitting on basically the same size diameter tire as from the factory, it's way off. I know there is a chart that shows what tooth gear to use based on tire size and gearing but I haven't even pulled the speedo gear out to see what it looks like yet. I am not as familiar with this set up since it doesn't have a transfer case in it. Is the speedo gear the same as the one that would fit in the t-case?
  10. I can do this. Thank you! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. I plan on putting in some sort of console with mine. I bought a "mini" console but I'm not exactly sold on how it looks with the bucket seats. I would like to find a full length console and see how that looks.
  12. Well shoot. How scarce are the 3/4 clusters? Thanks for the info.

Thanks for the information!!!! I didn't think the buckets were factory. After looking, I know why my speedo is so far off. The 8.8 has 4.10 gears in it. Good grief!!!! It still has the license plate bracket on the front but no sliding rear window. What is the "ALM" package?
  14. Was a full gauge cluster dash ever offered for the late model renix with a column shift indicator? '89 model to be specific, if you can consider that to be a "late" model.

I just bought the truck in middle TN and that's where it will stay I reckon. I plan on turning it into my new DD. 4.0/AW4 - 2wd - column shift - SWB - Pioneer. That's about all I can say for sure. It has a Ford 8.8 in the rear and bucket seats but they aren't factory I don't think.
  16. Beautiful tuck!!!!! What size tires and rims are you running that picture?
  17. Nice truck. That color really looks good!
  18. I'm not sure the boss would let me keep my job and since I need it to keep my Jeeps going, I better not stay that long.
  19. I wish I could make two trips out there. I'll be out there in October for NAXJA's big event. I've never been so I'm really looking forward to the trek. Even if it is about 1700 miles one way for me.
  20. This is off subject but what size tires are you running? I like the white myself and a pearl would look sweet!
  21. I'd like one in Med Gray please sir. Thanks, Mark
  22. Backdraft, my hat's off to you sir. You have really done some amazing work and given me some great ideas for my own MJ. Keep up the great work, a Jeep is never done!!
  23. Very Nice truck, I love the attention to detail, I think you call it OCDness. :D Have you ever thought about lowering the truck? Just curious about that. Also, how much of the front tires aren't covered by the flare? It looks like the rears are almost flush. What backspacing do those rims have? Sorry for all the questions, but I too have a project in the works. Thanks and keep up the amazing work.
  24. This is alot tougher to find than I thought it would be.
  25. Yea. It was easy as pie to install. Only issue I had with it was it was in a bright yellow plastic loom. You know how hard it is to hide a yellow harness behind a black grill so you can't see it???? I guess I could've painted it but I didn't feel like it. It's in there and it's hid pretty good so I am happy with it. I mounted the relays on the fender well behind the battery. I'll try and get a picture of the relays.
