  1. I have to do the exhaust because of the port difference in the head. And yeah it's going against everything I got to not basically redo everything lol I'm the type of a person that if I'm working on something I'd rather get everything possible done if its within reach.
  2. So unfortunately my cherokee has developed a pretty bad knock. Tried new exhaust manifold, seafoam thinking lifters, and tightened converter to flex plate bolts. Nothing helped. changed the oil and its nice and sparkly. sigh. Of course once it snows and drops to the 30s. I think it got jealous the comanche got a nice ls swap. Anyway, I would like to rebuild this motor myself and build it for boost but I don't have the time or money to do it right this second. Picking up a 1997 4.0 with only 112k on it tomorrow to quickly swap in. Not trying to go high buck on this at all but while I have the engine out I want to fix it up. so far I have: New exhaust because mine is a 2000 with a 0331, this has a 0630 head (now I won't have to worry about the 0331 crack) freeze plugs gaskets (oil pan, intake, valve cover, oil adapter) accessories are all new on my current motor so will be swapped over basic tune up anything else I'm missing? don't want to go crazy but anything that will be easier with the engine out
  3. Well the time finally came. Until spring
  4. Which trunnion kit did you use? I'm trying to decide between the captured roller bearing ones or the bushing style
  5. I have to update mine because of the sweetness that is the 21 slot grill
  6. https://www.thedrive.com/news/37632/the-last-amc-dealership-is-still-open-in-north-carolina Wonder what they still got for sale...
  7. Yup. It's a 3.73 lsd rear out of an explorer. And it's stupid fast for that little truck. I love scaring people who ride with me now lol
  8. It's still in really good shape but faded out enough it matches the rest of the truck. Definitely gonna hit it with some polish though
  9. Paid entirely way to much but I don't care
  10. Definitely my favorite
  11. I'm dying for a good road trip so I'll definitely be coming
  12. It just felt weird having the bottom ones and knowing the top existed and not having them so I had to fix that.
  13. Pm'd
  14. Looking for 2 of the little trim pieces that go on the upper arm rest part. Thanks.
  15. I have some open ended wrenches that arent as fat as new ones. Like old original craftsman. I used that and was only able to turn like 1/16 at a time. It has to be the first bolt tightened but you can follow the others as it goes down
  16. Mine were off just a tad but I was able to get all the bolts in. Had to use a hammer for some though. The biggest thing is NONE of the bolts can be tight when installing. Every one has to be loose. Also that one under the ear must go in first. It's a total b**** to tighten up.
  17. Ordered up the front floor pans today. Got to cutting out some smaller areas that I can just patch. Trunk pan is surprising clean. I removed the OE sound deadener and put some new stuff down. I'd love to get a beater but knowing me I'd try and make it nice. I have a 99 camry that I got and gave to my sister but she's at college now so I've been driving that on and off. But even that is really clean for NJ and I feel bad driving it in the salt lol

    F**k salt

This is my Cherokee. I know it's not absolutely terrible but I think I'm gonna cry. I'm so sick of salt and brine every winter. I'm really concerned about that quarter panel though...don't know how I'm gonna fix that.
  19. I agree with not needing first gear. I still use it but it's so fast to second
  20. Yeah everything they do is pretty great and then it all just fails so hard on the clutch stuff. New slave is working good, hopefully I won't have any issues there. Originally I got just a random gm bearing. Worked alright but it was kinda short. I had bought the Novak adjustable but honestly the bearing didn't feel great. I got a gm bearing from an Oldsmobile and it was a little longer. Clutch feels better than before for sure. I think the angle of the fork is better. I'm just not a fan of the external fork set up. Did you ever look at the advance adapters swap kit? It looks very similar to the jeep stuff. Maybe some of that would work good for you? I'm so close to just getting a tko600 lol
  21. Had the throwout bearing go out on the jeep. I think I had it adjusted wrong and it was always spinning against the fingers of the clutch. Holy hell was getting that trans out hard. The bellhousing does not fit through the back of tunnel so it took me 4 hours to get it out and 4 to get it back in. Never really thought I would have that issue as it seems to have plenty of room. If I ever gotta do anything else engine definitely is coming out all together. Never heard it straight piped and figured why not. Scared me on the first start up lol this was only to 3k
