  1. getting closer. It's actually scary how similar the transmissions are. The TKX weighs 95lbs dry. Measured for the the throw out bearing and got it all mocked up. Probably gonna recheck everything as this was a $400 throw out bearing and I ain't messing around. Following instructions to the letter.
  2. Just about ready for the new trans to go in. Then it's all the fun of setting up the hydraulics. Tremec has you make sure the bell housing runout is within their spec so the geometry of the input shaft and all is good. Kinda a pain in the @$$ but is needed for warranty. Luckily mine was good and I didn't have to mess with offset dowel pins. Rest of the clutch went on easy and now I can bolt it all up with the bell housing and then trans to bell so install is soooo much easier.
  3. Man this job suckedddddd. Hopefully it'll be worth it. The floors got pretty warm and also not having a/c I'm hoping this will keep the cab just a tad bit cooler.
  4. So I never had more than 1 set of keys for the manche. Decided it'd be a good idea for a spare. Went to home depot and they didn't even carry the blanks. So I bought a NOS set. Brought it in and they wouldn't cut it. Can't cut outside keys. Okay whatever, forgot about it. Well fast forward a month and I just locked my only set in the truck. Eventually got in with an airbag tool and cranked down the window. So today I try a different home depot. Nope. Then an ace hardware. Nope. So then I try some old school lock smith places. 3 of them said nope, they either don't have someone or a machine that'll do anything older than 1990. Like how hard is it to cut a set of GM keys. Anyways, I call my local jeep dealer out of desperation and they tell me no, as their machine only goes off vins. But they did refer me to their sister Mazda dealer who had the copier type machine. Brought the blanks in and the dude cut them for free. Said he hasn't done a set like that since probably 1988 lol. Anyway, that's my rant for getting a damn key cut
  5. Not the before. I didn't have the temp sensor. And dealing with a leak right now so I haven't driven it more than a block.
  6. Installed an oil cooler and some gauges. Did I need one? Probably not. Is it cool? Oh yeah.
  7. Picked up a reloading bench from a family member. The extra weight really makes the truck smooth over bumps.
  8. Finally got around to changing out the radiator hoses. The ones I had didn't exactly fit great. My radiator is SBC style so the connections are difference sizes. Just made some out of summit silicone and adapters. Fit way better and no leaks.
  9. New center console matches almost perfectly. Now I can finally say the interior is done....
  10. It's within a 1/4 length and case size looks almost identical. That's why I went with it. Should fit almost perfect. The only issue I have is that they advertise a center shifter that's actually directly in the ax15 shifter spot but literally no one has one done yet. Even tremec. So I talked to the guys at american power train and they said the rear shifter can be flipped and they sent that offset stub so it should be within half an inch of the center plate.
  11. I got a cheap ebay header for a 2.5 wrangler YJ and it worked great. Then just got a block off plate for the egr on the manifold and a plug for the bottom hole. Worked great. I no longer have a 2.5 but for the year I ran it, I had no issues. Also deleted the charcoal canister and ran a vented gas cap. You have to vent the tank or it will crumple/over expand
  12. Oh absolutely. The stock seats are super comfy but offer very little support. Even my new ones which aren't very extreme hold you in so much better.
  13. I have the terminator x on my swap. Absolutely great system. Super easy to wire in, took 10 minutes to program, and it fired up almost instantly the first time it ran. It's self learning so the more you drive the better it gets. Plus the software for custom tuning is free. I havent dabbled in that yet, the self tune is very good so far. It also has options for power adders so turbo-ing is simple in that respect. I gutted everything to do with factory engine management except the fuel pump and alternator. Those 2 are the only things I tapped into. Terminator x has its own fuel pump output wire so you can do that, but I just kept the factory pump signal with key on. The LS alternators are 1 wire "on". Just hook that up to the factory "on" wire. It's all in the same plug on the factory harness. All lights, dash, and factory accessories are still on factory harness. The terminator has a couple options for what style LS you have (truck, car, reluctor wheel, etc) I did cable actuated throttle body. I didn't want to mess with a new pedal and I like the feeling of an actual cable. I am very glad I dropped the coin on the terminator. I researched A TON on all different engine management stuff and I always came back to the terminator x. You're going with an auto so you can get the xmax for transmission controls. It has so many features and outputs to control fans and other stuff and the "dash" is very awesome. It's alot of spaghetti when you lay it out but it's all labled and everything is in the right spot. My ONLY complaint is that because it's meant for really any vehicle there is a lot of extra wiring to hide. But I just looked it under the dash. I completely hid the ecu behind the lower dash trim and all the wires are hidden under the dash. Highly recommend it.
  14. Got the driver side in. Had to re-engineer the whole bracket. Because the trans tunnel is so large and the brackets sit so wide I had to chop the seat slider bracket and shorten it so clear the hump. Then welded is all back and plated it for strength. Then had to make a new mount on the bottom of the seat for the modified brackets. All in all it was super hard, just a lot of cutting welding and test fitting. But it came out so good and the seats are awesome.
  15. Finally able to work on the seats. Got the passenger side done. The brackets sit super wide on these so making them fit is a challenge. I used krustyballer's brackets as a base and the procar brackets on top. Driver will definitely be alot harder. The trans tunnel is so wide on that side. But passenger is in and fits pretty good. The seat is a tad wobbly so I may need to beef up the whole mount system. But it's in and looks great.

Anyone want original keys? I junked the jeep they are for and just found them. Id hate tothrow them away but I don't need them at all. I'll just mail them in an envelope
  17. got mine about 2 weeks ago. CVS started doing them here in NJ. Got the J&J one shot and oooo boy did it knock me on my @$$. I was down for 2 days then all was good.
  18. Finally warm enough to really wrench on this again. Upgrades the rocker trunnions to solid bronze bushing from CHE. really really nice stuff. I wanted to completely get away from needle bearings. Took a long time one by one but it was simple. Also got the new ls6 intake and new holley fuel rails on. Oh and the sweet holley valve covers.
  19. I got a fuse block and interrior harness. It's from an 86
