I want to add an eagle to the stable just because I would drop a 4.0 in it and have a 4.0 family And because Eagles are super cool

I ran into a member here a while back at the local NAPA with both of our trucks. We both laughed at the coincidence. Other than that I never see MJs around

I don't have a problem doing that. It was Kettyle Cars out of Gainsville GA. Just figured most people would never deal with them.

Man I was chilling in my van just steaming for a long time, but I knew there was nothing to do about it. Just went home mad as $#!&

Okay fair, that seems to be a big issue at junkyards nowdays.
-
Dood, if they don't know the difference between a manual and automatic they need more help than what I can give. Pretty sure the front office didnt check anything and just told me they did.

I thought I was being slick by staying with a 2wd and saving some money.

Well I had a junkyard get me today. I have been looking for an external slave cylinder 2wd AX15 to swap out my BA10. Found one at a junkyard up by Atlanta about 3 hours north of me. So I called, asked if they had one, they said they had one for a 98 XJ without a crossmember. I asked them since I was driving so far if they could put their hands on it and confirm. They called me back and said yep it was there. Cool, I will be up in the morning to get it. Next day, show up. Go into the office. They call down to their warehouse to bring it up. The guy down there says it isnt a manual but an automatic. I look at the desk guy and he says the guy down there doesnt know what he is doing. Well turns out the warehouse guy does know. When I get down to their warehouse, he is pulling down a pallet with a 4wd AW4. Man I got mad, ask them to recheck, but nothing. So I got the luxury of listening to some podcasts for about 7 hours today, with no transmissions to do the swap with. Nothing locally, its starting to look like I am going to have to pay for some pallet shipping.

Dude so much atuff is coming out I can't keep up -
I was tired of finding my tools stuck in the dirt randomly in the yard or sandbox. So I bought the boys some toolboxes of their own and gave them all of my old tools. The immediately had to start fixing their bikes. I had to draw the line when they started "fixing" the Jeeps.

Ax15 differences
Car Enthusiast replied to Car Enthusiast's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Eh we will see, depends on what AX15 I can find! My BA10 is getting hard to shift and I don't want to put any money into it. All I am finding online right now is 4wd AX15s, but if I run up on a 2wd one I will use that, just because I was planning to lower mine and keep it for the streets. That gives me ammunition to "have" to buy another 4wd MJ. -
Ax15 differences
Car Enthusiast replied to Car Enthusiast's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
The transfer case is clocked differently in relation to the transmission, or do you mean that the shifter linkage internally operates differently than an XJ/MJ? With the different driveshaft lengths if I find a 2wd AX15 swap will the driveshaft then be the same as my 2wd MJ?, or can I reuse my driveshaft that I already have? The bellhousing will come with the rest of the transmission. -
I have found two AX15s to swap out my BA10 in my 88 MJ. One is complete out of a 95 Wrangler and the other is out of a 98 XJ but it doesnt have a transfer case. Is the TJ trans swap (I assume I will need a new driveshaft) the same as the XJ to include shifters? Or should I stick to the XJ and just find a transfer case.

Sway Bar or No Sway Bar?
Car Enthusiast replied to Bomberjeep's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
My XJ is a basket case on the road with the sway bars. When I reconnect them it will do 100mph easily all say -
Alright, I'm listening....

Preferably 4wd, but I can make either work
