Comanche X what tranny and a few other questions
SubSonic replied to 2yb3's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Yes, the Ax-15 can handle the 302 if your not too rough on it :brows: -
comanche has a awful knock.help!!!
SubSonic replied to coon.hunter_21's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
X2 My Girlfriend's XJ had some serious knocking/tranny issues... tightened the flex plate bolts and it was fine... for a week, till the tranny $#!&. my .02 cents is flex plate can be cracked ! Yes, both the bolts and the flexplate were the case on my girlfriend's. However, it does *not* necessarily mean the transmission will fail. We were just unlucky. Fix it ASAP, however. -
Interesting. What's the benefit of fusion? Also how to you plan on doing the conversion, as far as the database? Simply curiosity on my part...

Cool, sounds good. What are the planned upgrades for the forum? I also have the php code setup to pull the recent posts for the home page... (as seen on the place holder setup on the side bar) I just am not running it on my server because I cannot pull from another website (yours). However, the code *should* work flawlessly when handed over to you. I also have a few more aesthetic changes that may/may not be added. But I'd be happy to add/change anything you'd like, since after all it is your site and I'm just trying to do my part for a community I enjoy. ;)

Replacing the Interior Lights -- (How I did it)
SubSonic replied to BLHTAZ's topic in MJ Tech: DIY Projects and Write-Ups
Well, here in Dallas, there is no such thing as Advance Auto Parts  ... so, does anyone know what the Chrysler OEM Part# is for these assemblies is? I'm having one hell of a time even finding the OEM part listed anywhere...which is probably why everyone is replacing them with an after market assembly... -
I've always thought the site design could use a bit of an update. (Not trying to be disrespectful :D ) I spent a little bit of time doing some basic designing, as I feel simplicity is a big part of CC. However, I thought the flash buttons needed to go because they are unusable on mobile devices. Anyway, if you'd like to see what I've come up with so far check out http://subsonicx.com/cc If you have any ideas please add them, or if you want me to stop trying to redesign the site, just let me know. ;)

Mine did that. That fixed it for some time... then the pump actually went bad. Hopefully that was the only problem for you ;) Good picture!

Glad I could help, glad it's fixed!

Sounds like you went to AutoZone. They do that. Commonly.

My 90 XJ does that... it needs a fuel pump. Perhaps it's not getting good pressure. Got a gauge?

Worlds astest Comanche On Rusty's off road
SubSonic replied to Worlds Fastest Comanche's topic in The Pub
Yeah after I posted that I looked up some of the issues, but it was probably a mistake bringing up the question... so back to the topic I suppose... Congrats! -
Both my jeeps signal lights alternate from the factory... (when the headlights are on)... am I missing something? Nice Project by the way!!

Glad to hear it was the easy fix... now you just need a big wrench! :wrench: Seriously.

Yes he was very aware... however, I doubt the motor was fresh. He got me by about half a car from 20 to 70. But just a comparison Mustang weighs about 300lbs more than a non-4x4 comanche. And I would assume at 260hp, he probably had a good 55-60 hp on me (even with the new 40 over motor) But weight plays an important part here, especially since the driver had atleast 100 lbs on me. But I never said I beat him :brows: just ran with him.

If the year is the same then they will. My 91 MJ has the same shifter (and tranny, AX-15) as a 93 Jeep Cherokee. However if you got the shifter from the Peugeot Tranny and have an AX-15... or vice versa, there will probably be an issue. What year comanche?

124MPH in 91' 4.0HO 5Speed, 2WD. New Motor 40 Over, No Muffler (with cat, however) exhaust dumped at bed, (New bushings, ball joints, and stabilizer, so no shaking) However, it will be lifted and 4x4 in the next few months, so no more of this for me... besides I rolled my last XJ on the highway at 80mph.... so do NOT do as I do. The jeep tops out where my 67 Mustang does... the mustang just gets there a lot faster. However the Jeep, as it sits, will run with a 2001 GT Mustang with a large driver, as long as it's not from a stop

Wow, I definitely see the appeal. Those were great pictures and it shows how much space is in one of those small (looking) vans...complete with all the amenities. That was the exact answer I was looking for, and it more than proves the coolness/functional aspect of those vans. Definitely wish you the most of luck with the project, and I'm sure it will be a great thread since it looks like you're great at photo documentation.

Thanks, that exactly the kind of test I was talking about... now I know. Hopefully that will help the OP as well.

What's the details on these Vdubs.... what makes them special? (In all seriousness) Seems like a cool project...
-
Shocks, are an unnecessary luxury, just leave it... On a truthful note, go to a store that specializes in hardware (like a nut and bolt store)... make sure it is hardened (ie. heat treated to spec)

Just curious, and maybe I shouldn't be asking here, but care to elaborate?
