Mine works great on the HO position and the factory wiring reaches no problem.

It's also easier to adjust than the earlier with the long adjuster that tends to sieze up.

I looked all mine up for a 97 or 98 ZJ from knuckle to knuckle and to the steering gear. I did replace the damper also but most after market list the ZJ and XJ damper as the same.

Mine was a wire someone had spliced in at the left front running light. When I bought the truck it had an extra set of trailer lights under the taillights that they used as taillights. They were just wired to a switch. It took me about forever to find that splice. I would suggest tracing all wires in that system back to front. Gotta love Comanche wiring gremlins!

Today was small victory day. I replaced the plug for the door handle not a couple days ago. It was nice to not see the old one that was missing a chunk. Today was new inside weatherstrip. The felt was rubbed of the edge of mine so it stuck to the window. The window still either fine just harder to roll down. I really didn't want to kill my regulator so I replaced the weatherstrip. No more sticking to the window. Vintage parts only shows 3 left. The easy small victories are the best!

Agreed but I would buy the whole ZJ steering setup. The ZJ steering is a great upgrade for the price. It's stronger and easier to adjust. I have had good luck with Moog so far on mine.

There is no new harness available for our trucks. Only real choices are repair yours or a salvage yard one or build new.

Today I am glad I was wrong. I was ordering weather strips from vintage parts and ordered 2 of the plugs. They are correct I think the catalog has the pictures wrong. Pair of part number 55002368. The AMC part number stamped in it is 8955002368. So 55002368 would be the Mopar number. Glad I bought some and was wrong about the number. Vintage parts shows 37 On hand.
