  1. check for vac leaks, all sensors hooked up? I don't dwell in the 2.5L world often, don't know much else to look at.
  2. You can also take the covers off of the seats and put the covers in the washing machine. I usually scrub the covers down real well with some water and heavy duty cleaner - Simple Green, etc. and then put them in the machine while they are still wet. Usually come out real good.
  3. Nice shape...
  4. I haven't posted in awhile so here goes. Now that it showed up to my place, I can safely brag about my recent purchase. You guys are going to hate me... ebay #320696418794 - http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ... MEWNX%3AIT Yes, I paid $5.59 for it. The cargo light is apparently smashed... Keep watching ebay, you never know what will show up

  6. Rob Nice to know your name is Rob there boss... did you mean to add anything to that bit of information or did you just feel like making sure we knew your name? :waving:
  7. Disappointed. What a waste.
  8. There is something to say for doing it right and taking your time at it. Way to go, great build!
  9. I'm back in Michigan on Friday night like I had planned. Have Fun.
  10. A co-worker has contacted about this one and had no luck with a response. That was a couple weeks ago now...
  11. My fiance and I spent two years apart while she went to Grad school and I finished my last year at college and worked my first year at my job. For the first year we were 10 hours apart, the second year 6 hours. We've been together for just under 6 years now, we are getting married in just under 2 months now that we are both in Wisconsin together. I kinda used it as a good test to see if we could make it or not, the whole being away from each other thing. It wasn't easy, it wasn't fun, but it did prove to us that we both cared enough about each other to stick it out. It sounds like you have a good job, knowing that you have that in the bag is enough of a reason to keep IMHO. Bite the bullet and get a gas-saver car and the drive won't be so rough. Gas is going up, gas-savers are going to be the way you're going to want to navigate to anyway in the next couple of years. If you do leave your job, find a comparable or better job where you are going first. Quitting a job and moving onto the next one has got to be way easier to do than not knowing what lies ahead in my opinion. I've never quit a job though, so don't look to me for advise.
  12. Care to share where the JY is? My Dad might be interested in taking a look at some of those Willy's Wagon parts, namely the front fenders. Thanks - Brent

    Meh?

:ack: I can see a brush-guard serving a purpose. All I can see these doing is catching an article of clothing when you are walking around the car. You did a nice job with getting them back up to snuff though.
  14. I really hope you got that one for free...

    :shake:

Convertibles are meant to be cars IMHO. Looks WAAAY too much like an El Camino. Not for me. :shake: I would not want to be in a roll-over in that one. Also, how did they rig up the seat-belts?
  16. At least the "before" interior had a radio. Geesh. Looks Great!

That the one you got from me? Yah Correy, its the one I got from you. I haven't touched it in two years and its just sitting around. I don't know if the manual 2wd swap will ever happen like I had planned on using it in. I don't really want to sell it, but I'm not going to go and say its not for sale either. Lets give it some time and see if anyone else can come up with one or not before I shoot you a price since I REALLY don't want to sell it. Look around, your probably not going to like my price and you'd most likely have to come and pick it up. The mating driveshaft means ALOT to me and I don't know if you'd value it like I do. Fair enough?

How much are you willing to spend? I have one with the matching SWB/D35 drive-shaft.
  19. Still going strong. Drove the truck when we needed it all through the winter and now I have my first spot of rust-through on the driver's rocker-panel. NO WORRIES though. I'm watching it like a hawk now and I've done this repair before on the '88. Its just a pin-hole right now, but the area around it is getting soft. When I take care of it, I'll cut out a good chunk of the rocker and make it solid again. This one lasted 21 years, not bad. I don't ever plan on driving the truck in the winter again. So, it's future is nice and safe. Took it for a spin today and it drove wonderfully. Haven't had it out for a few weeks now, spends most of the time parked in the driveway except for that occasional trip to the lumber-yard or junkyard. Still love having it around!
  20. Today was a GOOD day. I got the old beast fired up and actually drove it up and down the road for the first time since last Fall. Still have lots of things to do to get it back to being daily driver capable, but at least I made a big step by getting it rolling again today. I partially bled the brakes, enough to get them to work again, and ran it up and down the road. WHAT A FEELING! It was nice to be back in the saddle so to speak. I still need to get the brakes bled fully. Both of the bleeders on the back didn't want to budge on the first try so I just ran with front brakes for the little drive today. Most of what I set out to do has been accomplished: Steering Column Swap - DONE, loving the Tilt Column! Also installed a Borgeson Heavy Duty Steering Shaft while I was in there. Replace Motor Mounts - Still 1/2 done, next Oil Change will get to the Passenger one. Replace/Fix Exhaust Manifold - Manifold was cracked, got a different stock one on there now. Still need to get a good EGR tube for it. Paint Work - Nothing done here, the floor was quite rusty under the carpet. No more carpet anymore, washed it and stored it. Re-Plumbing Some Brake Lines - DONE - New lines in from the master cyl. to the prop. block and to the rear of the truck. Driveshafts will be pulled and lubed - Still need to do. Install New Cobra CB - Still sitting on the shelf, waiting for the rest of the interior to go back together first. New Idler Pulleys - DONE - Old ones weren't as bad as I thought, but still good to have peace of mind knowing new ones are there. Swap 4 Door XJ Buckets out - Washed new seats up, set them in the truck. Still need to bolt them down, but thats it. Loving the tilt! Whatever else needs to be done... - Because the floor was so rusty, I'll be leaving the carpet out and painting the steel. Fun Fun. Looking into: Cold Air Intake - Made up one of these. More to follow on it, not completely finished yet, just enough to get it sealed up and functional. Updates to follow will be sparse, both of the next upcoming weekends will be spent away from home so who knows when I'll get back around to working on it, weeknights are about all I have these days. I know, I know... I need to get some pics of this stuff.

I enjoyed what he contributed to the forum. The guy had lots of MJ and all around Jeep knowledge. I STILL link people to the Renix FSM that he posted when they have questions about the Renix system. Wonder where he went?
  22. Yep, thats me in the back. My camo hat does look blue I guess. You aren't far off, I'm 25. My fiance and I are quite busy all through the end of June. I'm not going to promise anything because even I don't know what I'll be getting myself into during that stretch of time with the wedding and all. Once July hits, my life will be much easier to work things like this into.
