  1. Truth. Idk if it will effect the integrity of the new seal though that's my main concern. JB weld and send it? All I can think of
  2. So tapping out the rear main seal (rms) I unfortunately managed to CRACK THE BLOCK.... how bad is this....
  3. https://www.facebook.com/groups/219461385213710/permalink/878948652598310/?sale_post_id=878948652598310&sfnsn=mo Guy has one in SC, your 3rd picture. But with surrounds for headlamps aswell
  4. Yeah I'm going to have a shop do it. my truck had the plastic clips. I had the glass removed so I can do some paint if need be.
  5. Do you need to cut the metal retainer tabs out if you had the tabs for metal trim?
  6. Does anyone have or can they get a pic of one of the fasteners that retain the front grill to the header panel? Looking to replace screws that a PO replaced with something I know is the wrong screws... He went a bit nuts with them throughout the XJ I bought for parts.
  7. I have the pan and timing cover off it.
  8. She's still apart. I should be starting to piece it together soon. Getting what I need off an XJ as we speak. Also my paint guy finished with my parts! So I can reseal my motor again. Fun. Old image, XJ(leftside) hood, axle, motor, trans, and case are removed now (not using them but it's taken some of my time.)
  9. Also helps with clearance for upgrade to rockers. So I'm told. Will find out in the near future.
  10. Autozone part numbers in images. (46003 and 46005) Contains all hoses, newer valves and grommets. They were a Beast to push the grommets in... get a pick to assist.
  11. Secondary paint question. Can the front clip plastics survive the powder coating process? Maybe a low temp brand? 300f.
  12. Should I paint the door card to match the new hardware...? And... what do you paint this (pleather?) with....? Before and after.
  13. For image reference if it helps anyone since a good portion of mine is apart atm. This guy?

Is there a plate in the engine bay near the windshield vin in the driver corner/fender area, near brake booster? My MJ has a VIN plate located there aswell.
  15. Uhm.. not sure why the image quality degraded... it looks much nicer on my phone...
  16. Quite interesting to see one in person this old I can't make too much sense of it myself. Thought maybe the backside of it might be useful to some of you. First off I know.... it's not a Comanche. But it is my sacrificial lamb for my comanche. Pics of jeep to follow if y'all want.
  17. While this is true their estimate of damages was way past the threshold. 5300$ in damages estimated for a 3300$ truck. And they did have 2 hours on a frame machine in the breakdown.
  18. I imagine quite a lot since they want to give me just north of 3k$ for it (if they take it, 2.5k I keep it). Doing some more tare down, got the axle half way off. Back pain sucks, but what sucks more is frame damage. My heart sank a little finding this. Purely because frame damage is a huge grey area in my knowledge. It appears that the upper control arm split in half and shot into the frame. Edit: I'm going to attempt to get their breakdown purely for my curiosity on the numbers.
  19. So, they claim it's a total loss... my options are essentially, Take money and salvage title... or Take nothing and keep a clean title. Anyone ever fought with insurance against the vehicle being totaled and still got a payout and the clean title? What did you have to do?
  20. Started some tare down and investigating damages.... Still mostly looks like fender damage. The inner fender wells need new front pieces, drill out factory welds and weld in new front portions. The frame, from a glance, only has damage on the very tip where the bumper meets. The bumper brackets folded over and took some of the metal with it on both sides. The worst part I found in the cab. The passenger floor... was shoved in with the wheel, at the seam.
  21. Can someone measure the area between the frame in engine bay? Maybe in 2 spots and describe the location or pic of it? One important spot will be the very front for bumper attachment area. Need to check my frame.
  22. Good news! It cranks still! Didn't want to actually start it, just crank test. The little things man.
