Nah, Just have to replace the sending unit which isn't too much more effort than replacing the gasket. -
90 Comanche 4.0 fuel smell
russel730 replied to comanche32's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I had the exact same issue with mine when I bought it. Unfortunately, it wasn't the gasket. The brazing around the fuel lines from the sending unit like to crack ever so imperceptibly and leak when you fill the tank up. -
I'm interested in window decals should they become available.

Holy resurrected thread, batman. I present my 87 2.5 4 speed. First pic from the day I drove it 70 miles home and the 2nd from the last time I shined 'er up to get new rear leafs.

86 2.5l 2wd restoration/work truck
russel730 replied to strictlyxjs's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
Thank you. I know there's not much love for the 2.5 but it seems to run best above 3k which, while noisy, it can be pretty fun to drive once you get it up to cruising speed. You can definitely see why they used it in the race truck. -

I used this one from O'Reilly in July. https://www.oreillyauto.com/detail/c/murray-heat-transfer/engine-cooling/radiator/radiator/02ac48565f9e/murray-heat-transfer-radiator/rht0/433871/v/a/2238/automotive-truck-1988-jeep-comanche It's only single row but there's no plastic. I kept my OEM radiator to have it recored eventually. So far the aluminum one is holding up just fine.

Man, I've seen a vast uptick in fake ads on CL. No way can this be $1600. -
need to replace all the door felt and wipes
russel730 replied to Pete M's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I installed a Precision set a couple weeks ago and it is pretty spot on. I didn't notice any gaps at all. All the rubber is sturdy and the felt seems to be high quality. I had to work the rubber channel where the door card slides into a little bit to get it to open up a bit since it was pretty snug. I had a spray can of dry lube that was a huge help getting everything fit nice with only a minimal amount of cursing. -

That set from Precision is really nice. High quality and seemed like a one to one reproduction from OEM like they advertise. -
Sure, $900 is reasonable, right? https://www.ebay.com/itm/204017094379?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=FNUJ5VSZSgG&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=X_ndkjBdT4i&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY

No, they're not textured.
