  1. Longevity. I’m not saying that another Diehard will live 40 years, but I’d bet one of the small, cheap ones definitely wouldn’t live that long. I know several people with the modern Diehards and I’m yet to hear of an issue with them.
  2. Microwaved dog turds!
  3. I’m liking this. Might have to copy you at some point.
  4. Black would look good, especially with the black vinyl flooring and the black steering column. You could also look for CJ, YJ, full size Jeep, and AMC Eagle or other small body AMC cars, as they all had similar wheels. Here’s an example of an Eagle wheel with the spokes wrapped. Also has a really neat woodgrain horn button
  5. I’ve got a 31 under my short bed.
  6. What color interior do you have? You probably could find one that would match your interior.
  7. Ok haha. It would’ve been a holy grail MJ if it had the hidden winch though!
  8. If you did this, you might also want to do the seat back adjuster knob too.
  9. Maybe I'm missing something, but it looks to be in about the right spot for the standard bumper to me.
  10. And it a Laredo, so it’ll have bucket seats and all of the options.
  11. A1: I believe it gets deleted. A2: There should be an “X” in the top right corner of the attachment, right by the insert button. That will remove it.
  12. Yup, sounds exactly like how I drive too. Sometimes it’s a race car, sometimes it’s a semi. Most of the time, it’s just a driver Also, valve float happens somewhere around 6k in an MJ, in case anyone was wondering.
  13. The Liberty KJ and Grand Cherokee ZJ are common disc break swaps for these. I’d check those out and go from there.
  14. Within the last few months, I’ve gotten more into the interiors too so I get what you’re saying. It would be cool to put all of that information together.
  15. Oh boy, this definitely sounds like a can of worms that shouldn’t be open, you were very right.
  16. That’s fair, haha. Oh I forgot about the ones that have similar fabric to the seats in the early years.
  17. Let’s talk about the different door panels too then. I know there were the base, all vinyl, no 3 point arm rest ones, there was the ones with carpet on the bottom and the map pocket, and the 2 piece ones off of the top of my head.
  18. I’ll add this in for later:
  19. Thanks Pete! Hoping things get better for your dad.
  20. Rev it until the valves float, then grab the next gear I have about the same shift points as eaglescout526. If I need to cruise at 40, I’ll grab 5th then, but if I’m accelerating, I rev it out some. That said, you can shift anywhere up to redline. It depends on how the truck is being driven at that time. For what it’s worth, my truck is a 4.0 on 31s with 4.10s.
  21. You might be able to find a factory roll bar for $150, you might find one for $500+. It depends on whether or not the person knows what they’ve got. You might be luckiest just searching for roll bar and hope someone has one listed not realizing it’s for an MJ. Depending on how bad you want one, you can’t be afraid to buy a whole truck for it or drive a few hours.
  22. Most mechanical parts are available new and MJs are pretty much the same as XJs from the doors forward, but used or adapted from other vehicles/aftermarket are your options from behind the doors for the most part.
  23. I think that is just the way things ended up for them. My truck is the same way. Give it a rinse whenever you wash the truck and you won’t get much, if any build up.
  24. That’s a good idea. Particularly the Renault Alliance. They had the same seats as the standard XJ/MJ buckets (non wingback style).
  25. If your auto parts store doesn’t have it, ask to see their Auveco catalogue. You’ll find the clip you need there, I can just about guarantee it. Otherwise an autobody supply place would have the same catalogue and the people would probably know what they’re talking about.
