Thanks for digging into this, that thread cleared up what I need to know

The truck is an 89 short bed, I can clearly see the third fuel tank strap mount in the frame of this truck. Why would the larger tank not work?

The 18 gallon tank in my truck finally sprung a leak, I want to replace it with the 23 gallon tank. I am of the understanding the sending units were the same except the length of the float. Who can tell me what the two lengths are?? I would like to just modify my float to use in the new higher capacity tank.
