Yes you need to put more in. 2.3lbs will do it(the tech I had fill mine did it to 2.4, no adverse effects). What probably needed to be done as you filled it was run the engine and turn on the AC to cycle some refrigerant through as your putting more in.

Yes. I found this out when I pulled a full cluster from an 85 and if you remove the black bezel from the cluster you’ll find a blue film to help dim the power of the lights. Which is why the Renix clusters are blue actually. The entire bell house and front retainer of the transmission with the clutch line. Great plug n play for us 4cyl guys. As for the engine compartment, there’s not much worth grabbing. The 4cyl carbed version is very rare as is and most guys who had them in CJs and probably Eagles swapped them out for the 6’s. The only thing from the carb set up I’d grab would be the air lid if it has the decals and the valve cover if it’s original. Otherwise I don’t know of anyone out there running the carb set up who need parts. I’ll be converting to the TBI set up in the future. I know I’m always after the wiring harnesses from 84-86 if you do go back.

Ooooo love me an 84. Interesting on the steering wheel, never ever seen that before. Those seats are worth a grab. The lower dash doesn’t have speaker grills and makes a good candidate for a clean interior look in the MJ. Those A-pillars are worth a grab just because they don’t use covers in 84-85. Since it’s a two door there probably is 2 door specific stuff to grab. Mine is a 4 door so it’s challenging on what to else to grab that I can use. Maybe the cluster if it’s a full cluster. Also the XJ has the good external slave set up for the 2.5L which makes that a good snag.

The two roll over vent valves on the top of the tank connect to a T that goes to the charcoal canister. So what matters is just the length of the hose to which ever valve. As for that hose from the canister to the air box, from my search that hose is tough to find and you might have to make something fit or if there’s a business that can custom make hoses near you, they might be able to help. Otherwise it’s a Mopar only part that is discontinued.

So here I am messing around with more Jeep parts as usual and I have a couple of power seat bases. Well I’m actually rebuilding one, gear box and all. Only reason is I ran the whole assembly through electrolysis and decided to tear down the gear box. Anyone interested on rebuilding these?

As always I have a native style blanket on my seat and it did a damn good job protecting the bench from the AZ sun, my sweat(pre AC days) and any rips that my occur.

That’s kinda the only thing I can think of. It seems that t-stats aren’t being made to work like they should. Like I even put mopar in mine. Unless My mopar unit just runs really cool, there’s gotta be something wrong with the quality of all the stats.

Maybe the T-stat isn’t opening up all the way.

I had a feeling but I don’t recall ever seeing such a small one. Now I kinda want to add such to both my Jeeps.

What year is the over head console from?

I’m running stock on my 2.5L and never see 210. Course I probably have a slightly stuck thermostat in my favor there but that’s fine. What’s the condition of everything but the radiator? All air out? How about the fan clutch?
