  1. That’s a good question. I don’t see why not at all. Granted the amount of R134 is a bit less if a charge than 12.
  2. Yes that cluster will work. You’ll need to change out the senders for sensors for oil and temp.
  3. Yeah that’s one thing you have over me at the moment. I’ve still got lots to swap before I can turn the key. Glad universal cats are cheap given with all the thefts and prices climbing of them.
  4. Ok that pic might drive me nuts! Hahaha. I am glad you know the pipes, for me it looks like the natural vacuum of the engine recycled the fumes from the cat instead of using an air pump. Well that answers my question on what to do with them, cut em off and plug the holes since I probably can't work them into the Renix system.
  5. Oh boy....the P.C. world is gonna start harassing MJ owners. Beat them with brains and kindly inform them it pays respect to the tribe. If it wasnt for Jeep, songs and other media use of tribe names, the names would be lost to time. You look up Comanche and I am pretty sure you will find the nation and the name of a horse from the mid 1800's. Then what? Its not like the educational system teaches us these native nations and a specific horse. Any who I see it as respect and homage to the nation, same for the XJ.
  6. Haha glad I’m in the same boat with someone. Love watching your Eagle build. Farther along than I but I had a floor to repair. That reminds me, since you and are are basically doing the same thing with our AMCs, how much of the old ECE harness did you have to yank out? I feel it’s the same for both of us here. Oh and does your Eagle have pipes from the cat to the engine bay?
  7. Hahaha it sure looks that way!
  8. Look at all the fun I am having!! This has been a challenge, the pass side of the bay is cleaned up and rid of the ECU wiring. Currently what you see is the FI starter relay in place to test what remains of the main harness and it along with power still works and gets to the cab and front lights. Now the drivers side is the fun. I worked on de-pinning the diag port which FYI are Molex connectors and the same connectors for the Renix diag ports. Both ports are de-pinned and fished through the main harness and separated. The only things I have had to cut are ECU related wires out of splices, no terminals have been cut to make things easy for this, I am being thorough and clean so if I want to put it all back with minimal work. Next I have to unplug the C100 and remove any ECU pins there which I believe is just power related wiring and get it prepped for Renix. I also snagged a distributor from my spare 2.5L as I forgot this one has the vac advanced one for this set up and I can't use that with the FI. Fun fact, Renix era distributors look to be sourced from Ford as the one I have says Motocraft and has the original AMC part number and serial number tag on it. Also learned I will need to get a new starter. Had to do some digging on why that is and it seems to be based solely on the type of fuel system. I didnt think this would be a problem but when I started getting sparks from the starter wire and compared it to my MJ, I concluded I will need to get the FI starter. Fun times to be had!
  9. I have one of the older ones. My wife has the XJ one.
  10. Like I said, vintage has the last two let. Shoot me a PM if you want to go that route.
  11. No problem. If your temp climbs, then you know you have damaged the water pump, same with power steering and AC if you have those. As long as its just accessories your having to replace, I say youre in the clear.
  12. I say you’re fine. Just keep listening for other odd sounds.
  13. Ok this is weird. They have the lower brace but not the upper two. Nut (Radiator Brace) | Crown Automotive Sales Co
  14. I had found them once as aftermarket....Now I can not seem to find them. There are 2 left as NOS at vintage.
  15. The ones the 2.5L/2.8L radiator rest on/bolt to? Yeah, crown makes them new, they’re called well nuts.
  16. Sounds good. Vacuuming will remove any and all moisture in the system before being charged.
  17. Make it the last thing you install. But yes it’s fine to be exposed to the atmosphere for a bit considering the system is already exposed. As long as you get it charged soon or aren’t in a incredibly humid climate, you’ll be fine to leave it for a while. But if you are, get it installed and charged as soon as possible to avoid any issues.
  18. Yes. It should be. When I did mine I didn’t know this bulletin existed, so I got the new dryer and compressor, everything has been fine so far.
  19. It’s more for the 134 pressure so the system knows the right pressure to cut off at vs 12. But yes it’s necessary. You’ll get it with a new dryer and you’ll need to get a new switch which looks the exact same as the older one. Hell the older one will probably work just fine but that’s your call. There really wasn’t a part number for a 134 switch. The catalog just shows one switch and it’s one part number until 1990.
  20. Well you should replace the dryer if your converting to 134. But if you’re going back to 12, then you shouldn’t have to do anything.
  21. I haven’t seen this MJ around town. Nice to see another one pop up. I’ll get your build sheet tomorrow afternoon.
  22. Like the title says, I am after an OEM or OMIX rear bumper. Crown sucks at making the parts that are key details to our jeeps. Anyone have an XJ rear bumper laying around?
  23. Anyone notice the WJ lower control arms?
  24. Have you recently swapped clusters from lights to gauges? Cleaned your grounds too?
