  3. Sweet, thats what I was hoping. I'll grab the new seats tomorrow!
  4. Did you flange it properly? with out a proper flange it can leak. The first time I did my brakes, I practiced on some extra tubing. When I did my clutch system it went super smooth. Also add some plumbers tape, it can just help it sit and fit better when you tighten it up. Then roll through the proper bleeding procedure.
  5. Seat swapping questions. I have been looking all over NAXJA, CherokeeTalk, and this forum for the answer, so I'll ask the question. I have a 92 XJ with a busted up from seat cushion, sliders work perfect, but the cushion is smoked. I would like to replace the seat, but keep my manual sliding brackets. I found an older XJ wagoneer "1987" that has tan matching super comfy seats. The only issue is they are power, can I just unbolt the cushions and backs and bolt them up to my current brackets? I want to use these seats from an XJ with Power on my Non-Power XJ brackets. here's a pic for year reference.
  6. I did a ton of research on this. It can be a huge pain in the a$$. I had some title issues, but I was finally able to contact the owner and work it out. It really depends on how the vehicle was obtained, what condition its in, where it is, and what state its in. I have contacted a company in Maine that specializes in this and they also do Trailer Titling, which was the services I used. They were awesome, I didn't pursue the titling because I finally had made contact with the owner. yea and reading the post above, just because you have the vehicle doesn't mean you own it. Having the title means you own it.
  7. could this be the difference between the 6cyl verison and 4cyl version??? I had the same question a while back. I pulled a gauge cluster from a 6cyl and popped it in mine and the tach read fine, but I have heard of some having issues.
  8. Update ..... So I decided on the MisMatch Rat Rod style. Snagged a ton of stuff at the JY today for $40. The guy at the counter said if I gave him $40 I could take as much as I could carry. Here's the bed which I'm picking up next week. Wood Grain Bezel Maroon backing board. Here's the other stuff. This yard has 3 Comanches, all in pretty good shape, 2 have missing motors. I have some blue, grey, red, nice assortment of goodies. Wheels with some used 30 inch MTRs, wheels have a little rust, good for the Rat Rod style.
  9. I want your spare tire carrier off your XJ, my wife needs one. Looks like you have some cool projects! I like the 4cyl xj, good on gas, and I think it should have 4.10 gears. "Anyways plan was an axle swap from the 2wd rear d44 to the front of the x" ..... do you mean swap the the rear D44 to the front of the Comanche ... I think you may have some steering issues.
  10. Can across one at a JY today ......... anyone interested? I'll take some pics of it installed and try to trace the wires.
  11. Anyone ever attempt a rate rod, or something non-standard? I'm realizing that my ride is pretty rusty and I am replacing the bed, which will be white and my tailgate is gray/silver. I'm contemplating just doing an all mismatch theme. Just pulling various parts with no regard to color, cleaning them up and slapping them in. Of course it will be clean, but other than that it will be very uncoordinated. I feel like I need to be different and its a "to each his own" type of want. So white bed, navy/cream cab, maroon bench seat, tan dash, with wood gauge bezel, blue glove box door, red passenger vent panel, etc. ....... I am in search for an ideas, and also a list of all possible interior colors, I'd like to hit every hue. I know rat rods are matte black, but they do tend to have a mismatch theme.
  12. looks like the master is leaking. You prob need 2 wrenches to loosen the bleeder, one on the fitting and one on the nut. I have an external and I just replaced master, slave, and line, all is good and cost me $70 and 1 hour. You should do an external conversion while your replacing stuff.
  13. I have talked to this guy ..... its a very odd situation. I would have snagged this earlier, but it may have some issues ...... Title issues It was "removed" from a farm. The farm was auctioned off. ..... The guy selling it sounds legit, but he doesnt really know where it came from. Its in West Virgina currently, came from Maryland, and was last registared in PA.
  14. Need a carpet for my 86, I'm in Bel Air, MD, but travel to Lancaster, Pa 3x a week, let me know. Most of the stuff in yards is garbage and I can't afford the $100+ for new stuff. It can be dirty and have some small holes, I'll clean it up. Thanks!
  15. I did this on my wifes jeep ...... came out awesome and clears 31's (XJ). I'm sure it would help on the MJ. http://www.naxja.org/forum/attachment.p ... 1288319201
  16. Looks pretty nice, I think its really 1800 range with that many miles. Ive seen gems with less than 100k on them for 2500ish price range. If you need bumper brackets let me know, I'm pulling some this week. :D
  17. Thats Awesome! Thats the trailer queen version ..... I'm going to take an old rusty tailgate and a vintage "distressed" looking coffee table and make the hard-core-wheeler version.
  18. More pics of the bed I'm removing ... SprAYEd the rusty parts as I was going to fix it up till I found my newer bed.
  19. I think I PMed all who posted or PMed me, if not shoot me another PM. More Pix ...... interior ..... and I'll tomorrow I'll push the snow off the hood and snap some pix of the engine ...... Rear driveshaft is good and transfercase and some trans parts. It has a complete mini consol, and the shift knob is tucked between the seat an consol. Enjoy the pix
  20. i'll grab the vin and add it to the registry .... Theres also 4 more of these in the same area
  21. I'm buying this bed to replace mine ... This truck is pretty cherry, its sad to see it in the bone yard. Anyone need anything? I'll stop by today and take pix of the interior. I'm working a package deal for the bed and tailgate and some other stuff. They know me very well and will probably hook me up with other accompaniments if I ask nicely. Shipping would be from 21014.
  22. More info on the XJ please :D ....... Sunroof ???
  23. I'm in the same boat as you ....... so much oil it looks like it was on fire. I have taken some old tupperware and started to cover most of the electrical as such .... works like a champ. http://image.jpmagazine.com/f/29572805/ ... oofing.jpg
  24. Yea I was figuring $300-$500 range with no trailer axle, just the stock axle. Id bump the price up a little with the addition of a nice 5x4.5 3500 lb. trailer specific axle which would lighten it up significantly, and some Jeep or black Cragar type wheels. I'm not a super fabricator, Its just a basic utility, nothing fancy type farm trailer. The frame is actually a Mighty Max frame, which fits the bed perfectly. I went with the Mighty Max because the bed box mounts right in front of the bed with the trans mission studs ...... Same width frame as the Comanche, all the stuff fits nicely. Trailer axles fit nicely and I can get them cheap with 5x4.5 bolt pattern.
  25. Mitsubishi Mighty Max or Dodge Ram 50 stock bumper ........ Also if you google "action crash step bumper" you can get some more info. Its really beefy and heavy, its got the 1 1/4 hitch which could probably tow quite a bit.
