    Two decades

Congratulations! It's been 21 1/2 years since my purchase. Unfortunately, I have only one mj, but it keeps me quite busy and has been quite reliable, 244,000 miles and still running well.
  2. Wow. Very nice.
  3. Congratulations, nice truck. Unbelievable work in just one year. Inspiration for me, thanks!
  4. Welcome to the club, and great trade to the Comanche. There are some of us who are using the mjs for mostly if not all road use. I wonder if anyone has done a 4wd to 2wd conversion?
  5. Great to see another central floridian. Great truck and hope to meet you in person someday.
  6. Welcome to the madness, and yes, ouch X10 on the roof. But if the engine gets running and the roof is the major thing right now, great find! Great to hear not a lot of rust. Do you think you can save the windshield? HaHa.
  7. Changed the fuel filter and BAM! stays running. It stalled a few times while driving it around but started back up and stayed running. I decided that since I don't drive it as often as the other cars(04 Escape, 04 Mini Cooper, my wife's)I will not fill up the tank. I did just put 5 gallons of gas in it and it was at 1/8 of tank so I'm hoping it was a combination of stale gas and old fuel filter. Thanks again, Wildman, much appreciated.
  8. Thanks again wildman, I've said it before, I really appreciate guys like you who have the know how and are willing to share it with others.
  9. Thanks wildman, I do drive it although it had been sitting recently for about two weeks. The last time I drove it I thought I was going to have to tow it home. It stalled and I could not get to restart. It finally started and ran fine all the way home. The frame fuel filter is what I replaced within the last 2 years but I will replace again because it is easy and cheap. I took the air filter cover off to change it and it looked good. I replaced the cover and checked all connections I could find and still the same problem. I do not have a pressure gauge but will pick one up when I buy the fuel filter. Thanks! Buck
  10. I have a 4.0 that stalls. It turns over fine, although it does have problems starting right up sometimes. I turn on the ac and it idles down and stalls. It is a 5 speed and I put it in gear and try to go and it idles down and stalls. I try to leave it running in neutral and it stalls. I did replace the fuel injectors about 7 years ago and I will buy new ones if I need to. I replaced the fuel filter a year or two ago. I think it's getting fuel or it wouldn't start at all anyway, right? Thanks for your help, trying to keep from having to take it to the shop.
  11. CW, it has taken me a long time to go through your 35 pages and wondering if I have really seen it all. Will have to do it again in one sitting, maybe. Anyway, kudos to you for all the work you have done and how much time you have put in to sharing it with everyone, especially non gearheads like me. I really appreciate it and I am in awe. Great looking truck and when you are done with yours feel free to come to Florida and work on mine, in the winter of course!
  12. Welcome to the madness. I like that color. Sorry about the rash on the passenger side. Will it be easily fixed? Great find, keep the pics coming.
  13. Thanks for saving the topper. The guy who sold me mine had it sitting under cover for over ten years, it was in great shape, just had to repaint it. After I got my truck painted I actually grew to like it without the topper better. Unfortunately I can't haul stuff here in central Florida without the topper because of the daily afternoon storms. The funny thing about the long bed toppers is that unless it was built for the jeep, it might be the right length and width but it doesn't look good because of the taller cab of the mj. Sorry I have a tendency to ramble. Also, I have my original sales receipt also, maybe they will be worth those prices again soon!
  14. Sorry to nag but there might be someone out there who would like the topper. It took me months to find my fiberglass topper. If you still have access to it you can post it on classifieds. That is a great truck in great shape.
  15. Welcome to the club and sorry about the divorce. Don't let yourself get married to the mj! Looks like you have great experience with jeeps, the mj sickness runs a little deeper, fyi.
  16. Great find. Man I wish my wife would let me have two. Looks like it is in great shape. Is there not a lot of salt used in Co Springs? Any big plans for it after your first is done?
  17. I agree. Find a 4.0 and swap it in, you will like the power upgrade. My 4.0 has 245,000 on it and it still spins the tires. I'm sure it doesn't have the hp it had when I bought it but it still does well.
  18. Great paint job! Awesome bumper too. Great to see the turnaround.
  19. Great work, I am jealous of you guys who do all this great work. The last major thing (for me) I did on my own was change my fuel injectors. I succeeded but decided at that point it is better for me to pay someone else to do it. Took me 3 times as long as it would have taken you. Keep up the good work and great pics coming. Also, plans for the body, paint?
  20. Nice job on the wheels. Thanks for the inspiration to do mine.
  21. Congratulations. Well deserved. Anyway of sharing the horsepower with other mj owners?
  22. Your truck is definitely a diamond! Why couldn't Jeep make factory bumpers like those? Yea, I know cost, bla bla bla. I am on my 3rd rear bumper mainly because of small collisions and I hope I never have a big one, front or back. My front bumper is original but actually got "front ended", a girl backed in to me at a stop light and then had the nerve to get out and say she didin't see me!(I saw her reverse lights go on and my horn wasn't working at the time and I couldn't do anything!) Just twisted it a little and they were able to get it almost perfect at the body shop. Anyway, sorry to blab about my truck, yours is awesome.
  23. Great build. I did the same with the euramtec interior lights, kudos to you or whoever gave me the idea. The engine bay looks awesome. If you want another one to do so you don't lose your touch let me know. I really like red comanches, my first one was blue and my current one is grey, black. If I ever get another mj, I will be looking for a red one.
  24. Thanks, for the pics and info, and yes I was asking about the b pillar speakers. Hope to do that soon.
  25. Nice find! Sounds like it is in great shape for a New England truck. Also, like the number of miles. Keep the pics coming as things progress.
