Firefox used to be all I used, but I'm on Chrome now too. I upgraded to 4.0 on my Mac at work, but I have OS 10.4 (4.0 requires at least 10.5) and so it didn't work. I had to reinstall an older version.

http://www.checkmyride.com I found this site through this article: http://www.autoblog.com/2011/03/24/stal ... k-my-ride/ I currently have the only Comanche registered on the site and and 4 of the 12 wranglers on there. But the cool thing is that you can see where your old vehicles have ended up (if you have the VIN). Most of mine look like they've stayed in the places I've sold them to.

2nd O2 sensor - do I need it?
Rymanrph replied to Rymanrph's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Since I have to have some exhaust work done anyway, I'll just pick a up a bung and have them install it at the same time. Easy enough. Thanks. -
I realize that this won't apply to most since I have '97 wiring, but thought someone might know the answer. The '97 XJ had a 2nd O2 sensor past the cat. I don't have a bung for it on the MJ exhaust. There is a pig tail for it on the wiring, but my question is, do I need it? Obviously I didn't have one before, but I don't want to throw a check engine light if I don't use it. Can the truck run without the that sensor plugged in and not throw a CEL? My truck is hopefully going to the exhaust shop this week, so I can have i added if I need to.

We had to pay I think $75 (been too long to remember for sure) to park in a lot miles away from school where only one bus went. The only time it was worth getting your car was on the weekends due to the time you wasted waiting for the bus, riding out there and then repeating the process coming back. They built a brand new parking garage, but then didn't allow any students to park in it. I got lucky my senior year and could park on campus.

Can't wait to see the rest of it painted. You're going to have a very nice truck when you're done.

Good job man. Its coming together.

1990 Rebirth ('97 Conversion)

Here is a tip for anyone swapping the newer XJ doors: Grab the buttons that turn the interior lights off. Unless they can be adjusted or something, the XJ ones are longer. I have the original Comanche one on the driver side and the door doesn't compress it enough to make the light go out. -
Sure was. Those shots turned out better than the normal shots I took.

I have doors! This is the first my Jeep has been out of the garage since I painted the engine bay and before that since I started tearing it apart. I found out that the Certi-Fit fender on the passenger side is a Certi-Doesn't Fit, so I've got the banged up fender on their now, but I'll need to swap it out. The window switch on the passenger side doesn't work at all and the passenger door lock switch only works one direction (lock or unlock, can't remember). But the windows and locks do work; the keyless entry works too. I will be pulling the molding off of the doors at some point. I picked up a Flowmaster Super 40 today, so that will go on when I get the exhaust fixed. I need to bleed the brakes and put a seat in and I think I can drive it (I'm hoping everything works). I still have a ton of little things left to do, but I'm glad I've made it this far. -

I had a stroke of luck today. By using the shorter of the two slip yokes I had available to me, the 2wd XJ rear drive shaft looks like its going to work as a rear drive shaft for the Comanche. Since its 2wd, the shaft is longer than a 4wd shaft, but the XJ wheel base is much shorter. I have an inch clearance at ride height on the slip yoke. I'd probably be a little safer with a little more room, but as a daily street driver, I'm hoping that its enough. My donor XJ had a 2wd AW4 and a rear Chrysler 8.25. The length is roughly 40.5" (I can measure again if anyone needs it. So, now all I need to do is bleed the brakes and swap the doors and it will be ready for a test drive. -

That doesn't look like much fun. How much clearance are you going to have for your fans between the motor and radiator? It just looks kinda close in the pictures. -

I took some daylight pictures, but left that camera at my parents, so the night pictures with the flash will have to do. I got the XJ in the garage so I can take the doors off, but now I don't have room to open them.... I guess I'll just have to push it outside when I'm ready to pull them and then push it back in (kinda annoying to do by yourself). -
My first Jeep was a red '91 YJ. I got fuel injection stock though. It was a much abused truck (by the PO), but I will always have a soft spot for it.

I'm really feeling the brown paint. I at one point was considering a metallic chocolate color for my MJ. Good luck with the repairs.

Is it a new stock bumper or an aftermarket bumper? If its a new stock black bumper, I'll definitely buy it from you (I'm close by too). I have a NOS chrome Laredo bumper, but I don't want to put it on my truck since it would be the only chrome thing I have. -

Are you local to Charlotte, or did you just buy it there? -

Ok, I can cross some things off my list. I added and modified it some too. -Finish small wiring details -(DONE) New brake lines from the '97 master to the '90 proportioning valve -Bleed the brakes -(DONE) Rear drive shaft (used the XJ shaft) -Fab backing plates for the new door strikers and swap the doors over -(DONE) Need to find an airbag clock spring and electric fan (fixed my old one) -(DONE) Fix fender flare brackets -(DONE) Paint red front pieces black -Fix emergency brake (even with all the adjustment, it never gets tight) -Modify passenger seat belt (already did the driver side) -Reassemble interior -Exhaust (not sure what i'm doing yet - I need to connect the new header to the old tail section) -Charge AC system -(DONE) Swap wiper assembly I also made enough room to get the XJ into the garage. Now I can take the doors off without the neighbors complaining. This is the first time I've had two vehicles in the garage since I bought the Comanche 15 months ago. I'll take some pictures of the black front end and put them up tomorrow. It won't stay black forever, but for now, it looks pretty killer. -
This is the view from my hotel room on a work trip a couple years back.

What's on the glovebox? -
I have them on mine (in 31"). Haven't put many miles on them, but I'm really happy with them so far. They are a lot quieter than the 33" KM2s on my TJ if that gives you any kind of comparison.

Yeah, I had that same thought. I feel kinda stupid about it sometimes too.

Had a good day today. I got the brake lines done and I found an airbag/clock spring and the elusive 242 shifter bezel. All I have to do is bleed the brakes and I can drive the truck around in front wheel drive, doorless. -
http://greensboro.craigslist.org/cto/2240220700.html I like the paint job and it sounds like he spent some decent money on the thing, but the wheels..... :shake:
