  1. Haha, dito! I know I've asked my fair share of stupid questions, but hopefully I've given some decent answers as well.
  2. I believe those wheels are called Canyons. I had them on my old TJ. I actually have an air compressor and I find that I usually like using my regular tools more.
  3. There is something about silver Comanches that I just like a whole lot. Looks like you have a great platform to start with your addiction. Welcome!
  4. Take a look at the Comanche of the Month for June viewtopic.php?f=3&t=30517 It should give you an idea of what a little more lift in the front would look like.
  5. I'd rock a red interior, but I'd want black carpet a black headliner and black seats (with red stitching). I think that would look pretty sharp.
  6. Looks fantastic. What a black MJ should look like.
  7. I got the Hell Creek Kit that Brett mentioned. Mine just came with full leafs in the back, coils in the front and shocks all around. While I don't have many miles on mine, I haven't seen a need for an adjustable track bar, longer brake lines or adjustable control arms. Granted, I'm sure there is a benefit to all those, but I don't wheel my truck and I've been happy with the performance I've seen. When I get my truck back together after paint and put some more miles on it, I may reconsider. The lift height is perfect in the back, but I think I could stand for just a hair more in the front. This should give you an idea of the lift height (3" lift with 31x10.50 tires):
  8. I'm balding up top so I just buzz it all off with no guard on the clippers. I use a straight razor on my face and will occasionally shave my head too, but it just takes too long. I used to have an electric that worked great for my head (just so so on my face), but when the blades wore out, I was too cheap to replace them. I'm supposed to be clean shaven for work, but I just buzz it down as short as I can and get away with it.

    strange game

I couldn't figure out what to do with the intestines and then he died :hmm:
  10. Love the neon green seats :rotf: .
  11. That's awesome. One day I will have a stroker or a V8 in my Comanche.
  12. I would love to see some progress pictures of that extended cab conversion. It looks like a ton of work.
  13. I kept hoping we'd get a little hail so that insurance would pay for part of my upcoming paint job. Knowing my luck, it will hail after I get the Comanche painted.
  14. From here: http://www.euramtec.com/parts/c/c01/7180.html I think I got a discount when I told him I was from the Comanche Club.
  15. How much is involved installing the bushwackers? I've though about adding some or the flat style flares, but 2 things have stopped me. The first being cost and the second is my wheel backspacing. The flares would stick out a lot further than my tires.
  16. I have a NOS chrome Laredo (gray end caps) rear bumper, but I really want a black factory bumper. My truck will be painted in the next couple weeks and I don't want to put my old dented bumper back on it, but I don't want to put the chrome bumper on there either since its still new, never been used. Obviously I want one that's in good shape. I'm only willing to sell without the trade if I can find another one for me first. I'm in NC, so hopefully someone local has an itch for chrome.
  17. Good luck with the swap. There are plenty of people on this forum that can help with any questions you have.
  18. I sent Spencer back an email saying that I wasn't sure and he is sending me both just to help me out. How awesome is that? Buy stickers from Spencer (whether you need them or not www.jeepsticker.com). What a nice guy. I just got off the phone with the painter and got some bad news. He pulled his shoulder last weekend and its put him behind, so it will be next week sometime before he can take my truck. Oh well, that's life. The truck has been black for the last 21 years; it can stay black for another week.
  19. I placed my order for the Jeep stickers on the back and the Comanche stickers on the side. I ordered the reflective black for the back, but Spencer is giving me the option of having the reflective black on the side too. I can't decide if that would look good or not. Now I'm starting to think silver stickers might be better on the Rescue Green. Decisions, decisions. Flat black, reflective black or silver?
  20. Well, I guess it depends on when he takes it. He told me a week ago it would be the middle or end of this week. If I haven't heard from him by lunch tomorrow, I'll call him. He originally told me it would take him about a week. We'll see. I hope he doesn't mind me coming by and taking progress pictures. I don't want to bother him or make it seem like I'm checking up on him, but I want the pictures for posterity.
  21. Body color tailgate handle or black? I might just get them to paint it body color and if I don't like it, I can paint it black. I've got a lot of deconstruction done. I still need to pull the door mirrors and moldings, but I'll do that the night before I take it in just in case it rains some more.
  22. Put a new fender on it and removed some more pieces in preparation for paint. Hopefully work will start mid-end next week.
  23. I sold my TJ and then realized that the Miata was worth substantially more than I paid for it. So, I traded it and got this today:
  24. I made some progress today in prep for paint. First, here is one last look at it complete in black (Dexter wanted in the shot): I test fit the new bumper. My concern was that the bumper brackets might be off since the original bumper was bent, but it seems to fit fine. I will probably try to strip the remaining paint from my black end caps and use those instead of the gray Laredo caps. I'd really like to have a black bumper, but its either banged up twisted black bumper, or NOS chrome Laredo bumper. There is no way I'm going to paint a NOS chrome bumper. I also started taking the decals off. When the PO replaced the tailgate, they just painted over the vinyl Jeep letters, so when I removed them, you can see the original color underneath. Not pictured, I got the Cherokee and Sport stickers off. I removed the chrome drip rails and got all the bed bolts broken free. Tomorrow, I'm going to pick up the new passenger fender and remove the flares and front bumper. The tail lights, cab vents, header, mirrors and moldings will come off closer to when I take it in. Any suggestions on how to make the tail pipe look better?
  25. I put YJ lines on my TJ with long travel shocks and it was never a problem. All that tells you though is that YJ lines are longer than TJ lines. I'm not sure how they compare to the XJ/MJ lines.
