  1. I'd like to see this. Post pictures when you have them.
  2. I didn't realize that carpet panel was supposed to attach to the floor. I just let my b-pillars hold it in place.
  3. What do you use instead? In my straight drive cars, I always leave it in gear with the e-brake pulled, even if I'm on flat ground. In my automatic vehicles, I'll just use park unless I'm on a hill.
  4. I've found that most of my money hasn't gone into the '97 conversion, but upgraded parts like the lift, wheels/tires, the 4wd conversion and maintenance items like new brake components, battery, etc. So, if the conversion was done well and the maintenance has been performed, then I can see $4,500 as a fair price (I know I've got way more than that tied up in mine). I'd pay that if I were looking to get another one. All the little stuff adds up. If the cluster came from the same donor as the motor, then that should give you an idea how many miles are at least on it. When people ask me how many miles are on my truck, I have to ask them which part? We still need to see pictures.
  5. It was built by our member go4lo. Here is his build on Jeep Forums: http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f22/99-mj-build-881250/ BTW, he's in Charlotte.
  6. I don't think I've ever even seen a picture of a blue Chief. Are there any on these boards?
  7. I dropped the truck off at the body shop yesterday. It will be getting the rust holes in the rockers patched and the tail gate will be painted. I also found out the front shocks are toast. I still have the original suspension from the '90, so I'll try those shocks (and springs) to see if they're any better.
  8. I really wanted Moabs for my truck, but just couldn't find any (at a reasonable price). Yours look great.
  9. Thanks! If you do and need anything, let me know. I've got plenty of spare parts laying around.
  10. Mike, Every time I think I've talked myself out of liking bushwackers, I see your truck and change my mind. Not that I could afford them right now anyway.... Looks great!
  11. Yep, unfortunately, the stripes were so rough I removed them. I kept the rings for now though.
  12. I remember seeing that truck on Craigslist. Welcome to the club.
  13. IIRC, the original parts are painted from the get go; they aren't molded in that color, so the stuff you get from Mopar is the same stuff used for the original parts.

    A good one

 This is going to be good.
  15. Very nice. If I hadn't recovered my buckets before I did my '97 swap, I probably would have done that too.
  16. I found this thread on jeep forum: http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f53/coma ... s-1262995/ How can these accounts be approved?
  17. I'm running them right now and they seem to be doing ok. I'm not sure they're worth the extra money though.
  18. I really like the way that liberty light bar looks. Where did you get it? Every where I looked for one, they wanted crazy money for them. Nice truck.
  19. I got my garage cleaned up enough to put both Comanches in the there. The poor Mustang has to sit outside for now. Its nice to have two vehicles in the garage and they both run.
  20. I got the truck back from the paint shop, so I added my side decals today.
  21. I hadn't realized you were so close by. I'd like to check it out one day.
  22. $200 was a steel for those wheels and tires. Nice find.
  23. I know I had one on the rear harness toward where the lock/window connections are, but I think it was on the passenger side. I think there was another one in the very back toward where the rear wiper connection and tail light connections were on the driver side; I remember that one because I had to ground it on the frame rail. I'm not sure how it would be without the power windows.
  24. I was in your position. I was getting it to turn over, but wasn't getting fuel. I think it ended up being a bad or unconnected ground.
  25. When I converted my '90 4.0 5spd to 4wd, I was able to reuse my original 2wd speedometer cable (it was long enough). If you need one, I still have my old one and I'm in Charlotte.
