  1. Close up in the bread van here's the old 4.0 coming out once again Clayton Long Arms to clear the engine, probably going to have about 6"-7" of lift, I have 6.5" springs and ACOS to compensate for the 800+ lbs of engine SOA for the rear probably with adjustable shackles should level it out Hover Jeep The 4bt getting some love Next up I'm going to be mocking up some engine and trans mounts, then probably going to reinforce the inside frame rails.
  2. I haven't updated in for ever but I have been working a bit on my truck. I have never mentioned it but my plan has always been to have a Cummins 4bt in my Comanche and I am finally on the way. I have torn the truck back apart and am rebuilding from the shell up once again.... lol Here's the van that the 4bt came from
  3. Looking good, I have a silver door and fender left over from my conversion, I am also in Mt. Airy, Nc if you are interested
  4. Third picture is my life/ other projects LOL
  5. Wow, I can't believe its been since January, but I have the comanche running and driving, took it out on the town a couple time lol, but I have had life get in the way lol and a couple other projects, I'll post a couple pictures of her in the current state but still a long way from where I want it (long arms, 35s, lockers, ect)
  6. Great looking truck, what part of virginia are you in?
  7. I'd love to see another comanche with the 4bt, my ultimate goal is to have a 4bt into my 87' with my 97+ conversion and about a 6 to 7 inch lift, the 4bt is my only justification for long arms and 35s LOL, as others have said its going to be expensive but you also don't have to go as in depth with mods on the 4bt and keep it semi stock and a little cheaper, as 4btmj said he dosnt have stiffeners but has some extensive stiffening from both of his bumpers, also I wouldn't expect more than 20-25 mpg without some tuning and turbo mods, I think 4btmj said he gets about 28 mpg mixed and he has a laundry list of mods and also is sporting twins now, still though, CTD 97' Comanche would be the ultimate rig for me
  8. Hey I am also looking into a 4bt with nv4500 for my comanche, going to be very expensive but great fuel mileage and the power would be sick. there is a very detailed thread on 4btswaps.com on that yellow comanche on 4btswaps, http://www.4btswaps.com/forum/showthrea ... uild-specs
  9. I need a stock driveshaft for an AW4 and 242 shortbed, I'm not sure if there is a difference between lengths for the 231 or 242, I am located in NW N.C.
  10. Wow, looking amazing so far, your really giving me inspiration for mine
  11. So cool, I have always wanted to see a right hand drive mj, and this is even better with the new xj donor, can't wait to see this
  12. Thanks alot, I haven't mounted the rear seat brackets yet, I have power seats so as soon as I get some power to the truck I will do that and post, there are a couple other 97+ swaps that may shed some light on that
  13. I second that on the copperhead ring, I ordered mine and about a month later it finally showed up, that didn't bother me until I had to line the rings up, I had to drill out every hole in both rings to eventually get it to line up correctly. Roll bar is looking good though
  14. I have been looking at a Cummins 4bt for my Comanche, although they are pretty heavy those hp and torque numbers would be easily met. Theres a good write up on 4btswaps.com of a yellow comanche with the 4bt, and he is reaching 30-35 mpg
  15. Thanks for the kind words...
