  1. Pete just a quick look at the distributor will tell you if this a stroker most have the retaining lobs cut off so that the timing can be properly adjusted also may get another hint from the type of injectors used to power the beast i have the 5.2l injectors from a GC. in my stroker kit which is a 4.6l from AP which is no longer. not sure what happen with them and i am very happy with it. hope this helps

  3. well i am going to need some time but do agree with the assessment from the team ComancheClub i have found that the retainer has been lose like not even hand tight. But did find a write up on how to rebuild these things from this web portal "http://www.lunghd.com/" so when the time is right that will be on my list to do in the short term. thanks for moving this into the right spot
  4. First I should put this into the Tech section  don’t know what I was thinking anyway that is the processing I am working through as I write this. I suspect that the solenoid may have gone bad since the Battery checks it good and the wires look good as well terminals & connections are clean it is good to have a sanity check from time to time :brows: Thanks for your support and will post results
  5. Here is my question I've have a 96 cherokee and i get it to start with a jump then she runs all day long like nothing ever happened take here to adavance to see if the battery is okay and right on the money everthing works... good amps & even on load. take it go to the store and quess what no start  all the lights but not even a click its like she lost power or have an open circuit some where. just going to take the battery out the way she is right amd have them check it again and start there. any thoughts

  11. CW "I never really liked the turned down tow hooks on XJ/MJ's. But now with my pending front bumper build I am not use these... " if your are not going to us them r they up for sale and how much do u want for them :brows:
  12. most manufactor recommend 7500 and some people change every 3000 i lke to do my 96xj, 89mj, 89xj at about every 5000 don't drive them hard enough to change every 3000. once the garage is done the 89 xj gets in first and make some minor mods but the mj will be the one that get the best treatment based on funding :brows: if not drivin hard i would think that the 5000 would work for most of us just my take on this
  13. thanks pete missed the last part  now the real question is the 88 i though the 4sp was in the 4 cyl and the 88 would have the puke joe with the 6

  19. they may have a bad or loose ground but the sockets could have gone and if you do a search you may find that we have talked about this issue and there was a replacement socket if memory serves me right it was a ford that would work. But may not be the perfect fit
