  1. thanks for the info hope this weekend i have some time to do a quick read and knock that out btw do you have any pic's of your work of mechanical art work
  2. i have searched this site for speedo cable information. and i am not sure if the information pertains to specific models/years or does really matter :dunno: at the moment the speedo cable is not registering the speed on the dash. my question is there a certain way that this gets connected or do i need to change anything. I think that it needs to be seated correctly baba louie. :hmm: let me know if i'm out to lunch since i have (99tcase) or that i have to work it sum more.
  3. :agree: x2 since i have an 89 i also use it as a guide
  4. they have just posted the full service manual if you can down load that it will give you what you need. i don't have a picture to provide but the tune 6 cyl will have a diagram and i do believe that sir sam provided the link :brows:http://colorado4wheel.com/allmanuals/Jeep/ i have copied it for ya
  5. i do recall that as being the case.
  6. have you folks check this place out yet http://www.signspecialist.com/cgi-bin/font/lettering_sample.cgi i happen t o stumble across this as i was looking to replace some decals
  7. 2nd on the above. The only thing electronic on it is the speedo pickup. The only issue i have is that i will have to change the vacuum setup which the 99 does not have i should have been more clearly on my concerns what would it take to configure this 99 tcase in support of the orginal configuration. i do believe that i can replace the speedo servo with the cable configuration. I do believe that this is my only concern is the ability to switch between 2wd and 4wd. as for the spline count i am good there i have 94 tranny in there. just tring to get the facts and what ever write up that is avail to do this
  8. Well Iwas lucky to find a tcase out of a 99 xj and here is my trouble spot i can't use the 4wd since this tcase setup is electronic and to keep the original setup i going to have to rebuild it(vacuum). Unless i can get the electronics to work with the my 89 original configuration. now would be a good time rebuild the original t-case so that i can get back to 4wd since i am still with a d35 and would like to up grade to a d44 or if i have to a ford 8.8 i know that these fords are plentiful and is probably the least expensive i would have find a matching front axle which brings me back to the electronic vs vacuum tcases i would continue to search this site and others to see what i need to have it done if need be :ack: some help would be greatly appreciated.
  9. Not sure how dep your pockets are you may want to consider one of these http://www.golenengineservice.com/html/jp_mag_1.html :brows:
  10. x2 gonna do the same here
  11. Easy answer..........He took it to Cottman Transmission :teehee: You need to match what year your Transmission is, to get the correct output / input spline count. i have been here the chatter for a while which i suspect it to the throwout and also notice that as the chatter got worst there was some resistance this was the orig tc that was changed to fit the ax-15(94) 5yrs ago which i could have mess up from swapping 21 to 23 spline. and btw you have to trust somebody sometimes so back at u wildman :rotf: thanks a bunch for the offer mj87jeff as u know the lawn notzees around here frown upon that kindof stuff i can take it to the base and have it done there...btw if i can't get one i let you know and make arrangements just to pic it up and i'll toss you some beer just for the hell of
  12. after using the search engine :brows: I believe that the switch over years for this t-case 91+ for the aw4/ax-15 so hunting i'll go and here is the post that i have got the information from [list=]t-case spline count ? I'm not getting to work but here it is anyway
  13. Here is my story sad but ture. My Tcase went bad and made a bunch of racket didnt have the time to do the swap my self at the moment since i initially thought that the throwout bearing was the culprit. So off the cottman trans. they have informed me that the clutch needed to be replaced and if i don't repair/replace the tcase i'll have to do another clutch job again. Here my question Can i use a tcase from a aw4 auto 94 and up or do i stick with ax-15 tcases only. I'll have to go to the JY saturday and see what's avail. I'll rebuild the other later. just need a quick turn around on this.
  14. u da heat  nice job and write up

  20. now partner that there is what i call service
  21. the choice for me would be 3 first then option 2 if the fuel was not a problem :brows: since you are having fun with your cherokee i would keep it stock as much as possible and maybe make a 4wd with minor mods then you know the rest of the story.
  22. that sounds very nice. that makes me want to do it 2
  23. the other way is to press down on the retainer that hold the stick shift in place and twist in the counter clock wise direction it may be a bit slippery but it works and the you should be able to lift it out and remove the tranny once it has been cleared
  24. what's the status on the master cylinder and may want to check the pedal itself the weld may have gave way a bit justa thought
  25. i would agree with that since it may be the original
