  4. Probably not the correct way but I have the key out, make sure the switch is in the off position. Install switch then run thru the function, start, run and acc, adjusting if needed. Stock 1988 swb 4.0 ax15 np 231.

  6. nothing at d1-2 with key on or off? did it have the jumper? if still nothing with key on or jumper check for power at the ignition control module, c2 yellow wire

  11. Bought a box with tools from someone retiring, probably doesn't know what it does it he's young. Or using an older techs tools till he can get his own as he says it's in the tech box that was off that day Stock 1988 swb 4.0 ax15 np 231.

  21. People usually do, if they would perform the inspection of it instead of assuming it's bad it be a lot better. If they perform the inspection then all there out is hours worth of time and a 50cent gasket. Stock 1988 swb 4.0 ax15 np 231.
  22. Because out of all the possibilities it's the one that has the most use and fails more often other then a cap, also usually the cheapest fix Stock 1988 swb 4.0 ax15 np 231.
  23. Check the fan clutch, coolant level, was it actually overheating, possible bad sending unit, bad thermostat, is it open or closed cooling system? Stock 1988 swb 4.0 ax15 np 231.
  24. Check the fuse able links near the battery, they look like normal wires but will open like a fuse Stock 1988 swb 4.0 ax15 np 231.
