Aloha and some questions
All around mj replied to Eric A's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Everything from the dash forward will fit. Front doors on a four door XJ will fit the MJ. Engine, transmission, and transfer case will swap right in. Front suspension and drive line also. As long as it’s from the same era all those components should swap over, however high output and renix electrical and head/exhaust manifold are different and they switched from vacuum disconnect to non-vacuum disconnect on the front axle on high output as well. Coolant systems are easily swappable from closed to open as well. -
How did you go about your fuel setup with those bedsides? Did you retain the stock filler neck?

I can’t wait to see how these turn out. I’m not going to be able to sleep now. -
Rereading my previous post several times, it is really unclear. Maybe after I get my head unclouded from everything that’s going on today I can make sense of what I was really trying to ask and why. I like your build and the triumphs you have had to overcome with it. Great job!

Do you have any detailed pics of your final exhaust setup? I plan on doing a super duty axle swap, hopefully in the not so distant future, I’ve been researching for a couple years on the swap. I haven’t found a MJ specific swap build and if you don’t mind me using your exhaust masterpiece for an example to go by. That is if you don’t mind.

You’re making me want to buy a welder and start learning. Eventually I’ll have to do it anyway.

I’m still trying to track down my old pictures so I can start a build thread. It doesn’t look like much yet but I’ve at least gotten it to daily driver status for about a year and a half now. I can’t wait to see your finished product.

I used to get pretty butt hurt when someone would call my Comanche a piece of junk. Usually the comments would come from my wife because I was working 60 hr weeks at my old job and I was still in the reserves. So, between work, drill weekends and annual training it didn’t give me much time to work on the truck or spend time with the family. After I had fixed some collision damage and completed the HO swap she apologized because she thought I was wasting our time and that I would never get it running again. So no matter what people say around you never let it get you down and know that one day everyone else will get to see your plans become reality. I can’t wait to hear what happens when people find out your truck can out flex a bodybuilder lol. Keep up the great work.

Climate control problems
All around mj replied to All around mj's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Well the cruise control worked fine and I didn’t see any problems under the hood so I guess that means I’ll be taking the dash out. I’m probably going to wait until I redo my a/c. Neither of the systems were charged when I got the Comanche nor the donor Cherokee. -

I did kind of a quick visual/feel check by the battery but nothing too in depth. Since the cruise control ties into the line just behind there I’ll see if it works on the way home. I can take the battery out and do a better check after I get home. If I don’t find any issues under the hood I will assume I could have a rodent problem or maybe a bad seal/line behind the dash. -

Come to think of it, I may have changed the battery around the time the problem started. Thanks for the input. I will check into it on my lunch break. -

Thanks if I get to leave work early today I’ll get started on that. -
I guess what I really mean is checking the contacts inside the parking/turn signal lamp sockets is what ended up fixing my problem and if I had been more careful taking the nasty one apart, instead of losing the piece that flew across the garage, a good cleaning would have been an easier fix.
-
On mine, before I did the high output swap, my driver side park lamp socket was bad. I replaced it with a Ford one. I can’t remember what the part number was but the only difference was the blue and brown wires were switched. I’ll see if I can track down the part number later.

Climate control problems

I may just have to take the dash back out and check all of the vacuum lines. I’ll have to try it out Thursday after the kids go back to school. -

I haven’t fixed it. I was just reaching out to see if anyone has run into the problem and what there solution was. -

Oh yeah, I’ll also add, the one way valve didn’t fix the problem. -
So about 6 months ago I noticed my climate control can be switched to all positions but it is stuck in defrost. I’ve messed with some of the vacuum lines and found a one way valve was stuck shut on the intake manifold so I freed it up. Has anybody else run into this issue?

They are getting sneaky. I answered a call from my mother in law that was a telemarketer. When I checked the number in my call history I noticed it was +1 1(417)XXX-XXXX

When I send my 93 core I’ll send my 90 with it. -
I have one but the wire that goes to the potentiometer has broken at the terminal that connects to it.
