Bought another Comanche... Fix or Recover Parts and Scrap?
DJM/78 replied to comanche09's topic in The Pub
:huh???: That's not rebuilding. That's blasphemy. Then you guys are going to send me to hell for what I'm doing to my sport truck .... I tell you what Jim , I'll trade you my 2.5 or better yet you can have it . Its already cost me just as much as a V8 swap to find and rebuild parts for this dammed thing and it still needs rebuilt . Just found a small block LS1 for 800 bucks with harness and trany . The next time someone thinks this truck is a joke , I'll leave little bits of rubber all over their windshield . This truck will have life again I tell you . I might pass it up for an LS2 400+ HP GTO motor , we'll see . -
I don't mean to burst the fancy bubble but ... My 600 weighs less and pushes more pony's than that shiny second on the house . My liter class bike beats it by at least 25 HP , stock and weighs 15 lbs less ( wet) . Its a cool bike and all , looks badazz too but for that kind money I would rather buy a house and three other faster bikes . My 929 was just dyno tested @ 155 HP , at the wheel and weighs 379 lbs ( wet ) . I always thought it was a cool concept bike but too slow for the money . If the American bike manufacturers are going to compete with the Japs , they'll have to add some HP , shave some weight and drop the price about 100K . A couple of builders around here have made their own , home brewed version using custom frames , Jap liter class motors ( even V twin racing motors ) like the Honda RC 51 and Suzuki TL , style motors with street fighter components . My dream is a Greg's customs frame , Honda RC 211 V motor and custom body work , but the Jeeps keep taking all the toy money . Greg at Greg's Customs made one using a 175 HP ZX 12R motor and all custom made parts . Took the cover of quite a few mags a couple of years ago . As far as I could see the motor was still mostly stock other than little trick things like a custom made clutch cover and fabricated triple tree's .

No, you didn't have to do it. You wanted to do it just to torment me. Well, have I got news for YOU ... My little brother is the unchallenged horrible pun king of the known universe, so have at it, Mate. You can't touch me. ( :fool: Neener neener!) :rotfl2:

WOBBLE! Not "wable" BRAKES Not "breaks" Eagle , I think the wable made it break .... :shake: I know , I had to do it ..... :wavey:

Good thing is your going to be good with a little help from the chyro. , I'll never go to a regular doctor again for my bones , they wanted a 20k dollar surgery and I probably wouldn't have been on my feet for weeks if not months . So far , five years of no pain . Oh' and the seats look good .

I had the same thing happen to me , of all places in a stinking elevator . At the bottom with that little jolt , sent a sharp pain right up my back almost completely paralyzed me . The people in the elevator started looking at me like I was having convulsions of a rehabilitated crack head ..... :beerhead: Most expensive elevator ride I've ever taken . :shake:

Thank you Eagle , thats what I thought , I knew the chain needed lubrication somehow and I couldn't find anything that was actually doing anything but the oil sling . Being a bike fanatic , I clean and lube my chains frequently .
-
I'm almost done with my timing chain on the 2.5 L , so again I refer to the masters of the MJ on a oil sling , needed or not ? A buddy of mine said he threw his away , wasn't needed but I figured I'd check with you guys first before I pitched it .

I sorry that happened to you man , that sucks . On a good note that cab can be fixed , looks like sheet metal drooping , that can be replaced no problem . It looks like all the major support beams and pillars are all in good shape still , nothing a little fiberglass and sheet metal won't cure . If you were closer I'd help you fix it . Might be a good time for a sunroof ...

Man , I feel for ya' , be careful with those perc's though , they can bottle neck your digestive system real easy . You don't want to be pinching a brick with your toe throbbing like that . :shake:

Best Adjustable Lower control arms??
DJM/78 replied to knever3's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Tera-Flex control arms are my favorite but pricy , RE arms are good but almost any aftermarket control arms ride stiff . Maybe for your application WJ LCA's would be a good option . -
I used a 97+ HCV from NAPA , no problems .. Buy the one made in the US , not china , its 4 dollars more .
-
1, Built D44 with welded axle tubes , Yukon gears and Tera discs , 456's . 2, High steer Tera knuckle swap and steering upgrade . 3, TJ Bucket seats .

Hey if they'd pay me that much , I'll be anyone . The Mexicans down in Cozumel take pictures of my wife because they say they've never seen Tommy Lee's new wife . I'm going to start cashing in on some of this celeb identity stuff . :wavey:
