I was thinking that too, but up here stuff doesnt usually get to messed up from the sun like down by you guys, especially floor mats. But then again the jeep might have come from anywhere. The xj came in on a wrecker a few days before i found them and it was full top to bottom with crushed coffee cans. It was stuffed like a horder's car and these were in the back. Underneath.. At least they don't smell bad.

Ive been getting more and more confident with this little truck. It runs so well. Ive been taking it on longer and longer drives away from my house. Took.it for a 5 hour round trip last sunday and it did phenomenal. Some things ive noticed A. The 2.5 renix is slow HOWEVER it is not as bad as everyone says. I don't normally drive fast anyway, but it does just fine going 70 down the highway with the 3.55 gearing and 30 inch tires. Adding the 5th overdrive gear when swapping to the ax5 over the ax4 has helped keep the rpms down and its actually pretty enjoyable to drive. B. It actually gets pretty good milage. Again the 3.55s with overdrive help alot but ive calculated about 24 miles per gallon on my last trip on the highway. Way better than my 5.0 coyote f150. As i get ready to put this thing away for winter I'm starting to gather pieces to start reproducing the "filler" pieces for the oem hidden winch. -
I picked up these floor mats at work. They were in the back of some random xj in the yard but i think they came from a fsj cherokee cheif. I asked my boss if they were from his cherokee chief and he said no and that could have them. I would love to use them in my comanche. Passenger side is coming around but i can't get the drivers side clean. I'm hoping someone has some kind of tip for me. Things i have tried: 1.Powerwashing with commercial gas power washer. 2.Soaking in oxi-clean over night. 3. Soaking in simple green (usually have good luck with simple green) 4.soaking in "super clean" 5.Soaking in purple power. 6.Using a rug/steam cleaner. 7.rubbing with a rag soaked in acetone 8. Several combinations along with thr above steps but also scrubbing with a scrub brush and or scotch pad. 9.ran through the washing machine with oxi clean and powder tide.

Last month when i mad the post about long distance driving....it was something happening similar to this that made me a little worried. I have to say i did enjoy the ride and its even better when the reward is jeep parts. I kinda wanna go on another trip. Its all about the hunt.

My friend and i make it a point to explore one of the local yards once a month. We realized we never check the hubcap bin so we spent about an hour combing through it. Here is only about 1/4 of what we found. All jeep. Tons of the turbine center caps (prob 20-30) total. ....anyway the caps are 3 each or 2 for 5 we ended up buying $200 worth so the guy knocked off $50 bucks. Got them all for my boss' ebay store.

Ok ive got the trans in qnd bolted up with tcase. I went to install the driveshafts (i pulled them from a 89 longbed 4wd mj so they are the right length) i noticed the rear driveshaft yoke had a keyway in it and it will not fit in my tcase. Is this something i overlooked? Is it because my t case is from a 6cyl? Inalready swapped the input shaft. I guess ill look for the correct driveshaft yoke at work on saturday. -
Well i made it. Ended up driving most of the way last night slept at a truck stop nice and cozy in my truck. Got my prize today....$50 roll bar.

Thank you all for your advice after some consideration I have decided that I will leave on Friday night after work. I have found a truck stop that seems pretty decent about halfway to my destination. I will drive there after work can sleep in my pickup. As a general rule is it acceptable for passenger cars and trucks to be able to sleep at truck stops? I plan on paying for the facilities usage for the shower and bathroom even if I don't use them that way I don't cause any problems this will leave me with only 2 hours to travel on Saturday to arrive at my destination, then I will be able to spend a little bit longer resting there afterwards for the drive home Saturday evening.

I def should pack a cooler...Unfortunatley i finished one of my favtorite podcasts (crimetown) series this past week so hopefully i can find a new one to get into.
-
I'd say the price is maybe 5k to high but not to far off. What sells it for me is how unmolested the truck is...with the way things are these days think he may get that price though. A few weeks ago a 1971 k5 blazer that was a called a "concourse restoration" went for 400k. I don't know how it had a lift kit and big tires so anything is possible.

You were the first person i thought of lol. I was like thats nothing for pete lol. I also plan on dropping a pin every hour or so for my wife in case of emergency. The nice thing is i have no specific time deadline to meet so as soon as in feel tired i will def pull over for a nap.

I appologize for my ingnorance and i feel stupid for asking. Living in new england I have never really driven over a few hours at a time (you guys out west are probably laughing) but i have to do some driving this upcoming saturday a 6 hour trip away and back. Can anyone give me any tips? My initial plan was to have my friend ride with me and possibly take over for a bit if i get tired.(He is a plow driver and could be on call this weekend so if is he can't go) -If he is able to go i plan on leaving early saturday morning and returning on saturday night. -If he cannot go I plan on starting my trip on friday night (i get out at of work 11:30pm and I am usually wired for a few hours) Driving till i get tired and stopping to sleep at a wal mart or rest area along the way. -the weather looks good locally, at my destination and along the way. -I plan on making a stop ever 1.5 hours or or so to take a 10 min break -my truck is good condition (2011 f150 5.0 v8) I Just changed the oil last weekend. have tire plug kit air compressor and gas can spare tire) -the trip is mostly highway with some mild hill climbs across the catskills. -once i get to my destination i plan on doing my business and getting a nice sit down meal to unwind and then heading back.

Yessir boss man knew exactly which one it was and literally reached into a huge pile of all different style clutch forks and pulled that one. out. The plastic tip for the slave cylinder on mine was worn down pretty good so i ordered this one hoping its the correct one. https://www.amazon.com/Omix-Ada-16919-23-Clutch-Slave-Plastic/dp/B000FQ07K2 Again all the parts sites seem to skip over the fact that the 86 has a differnt clutch set up and has nothing of this sort listed. I had to cross referenct the part from a 4cyl cj with a t4 which uses the same clutch setup as our 86 trucks. -

Set out to work today with the goal of getting the ax5 ready I was able to clock the trans using my boss's clocking ring set up. I test bolted a random np231 on and it fit perfectly. got this piece of unobtainium off the shelf Then the whole unit went in for a bath
