  1. It should. I doubt it has half as many miles on it as she does.
  2. I've found that sometimes it's easier work from the top, inside the cab than from underneath. Run the arm of a cherry picker in thru the passenger door, or with the windows rolled down run a 2X4 across the cab, one end end resting on each door with a winch attached to the 2X4. This doesn't work with a solid floor.
  3. Unfortunately, you just may be right.
  4. Block off all the crank case vents. Start the engine and when the pressure builds up enough it will blow the seal out.
  5. Finally got it up on a flat surface and ran some plumb bob measurements on it. The frame is definitely bent so that wipes out the faint idea I had in the back of my mind about fixing it. Any body need any ZJ parts, come get 'em. Bring money.
  6. Not even going to dignify that with a response. When I first seen him, he had his head in the window and his nose over the steering wheel. Couldn't get the camera fast enough.
  7. They'll be able to buff that out I do not believe that will buff out!!!
  8. He's flattered that you remembered his name.
  9. wonder if he's got any money.
  10. Last post on this subject. I joined NAGCA for the sole purpose of running a for sale ad on it. Spent a frustrating hour trying to sign in this morn with no luck. That is the most user unfriendly site I've seen in my life. So I have a ad here for it.If I haven't sold it in a couple days I'm going to part it. Don't care how rare it is. I got a MJ needs a engine. :dunno:
  11. jamba, Pay the freight and I got a tail light I'll send ya.
  12. Hope ya'all will excuse me if I over post on this thing, but darn it, I'm all worked up over it now. After I got it running went thru the glove box. They spent over $2,000 on that thing on new parts in the month before they wrecked it. New battery & alternator New windshield, New fuel pump. That was $900 installed. New brakes all around, pads and rotors..Now i got to figure out what I'm going to do with it. Fixing it up sounds like a good idea. I got everything needed to replace what's needed. Only problem is i already got too many projects going. Ahhh we'll see. Maybe I'll get lucky and somebody will sweet talk me out of it.
  13. GOT IT STARTED!!. That SOB runs like a brand new one. yxmj. Your hint didn't work but thank you any way. Finally pulled out the FSM. Desperate times call for desperate measures. Take the ign key, insert it in the passenger side lock, turn it left, then right, the horn honked twice. Turned the key again. Nothing. went in and tried it. Fired right off and ran GREAT!.
  14. Thanks yxmj. I'll give it a try. Tried joining nagca last nite. Never heard back from them. This morn tried posting a ad on ebay. Got so frustrated trying to fill out the paper work I said to hell with it. Going out now and try yxmj's tip. see what happens.
  15. Welcome. That is one nice looking truck.
  16. military battery terminals?
  17. OK. Somebody make me a offer and come get it. BEFORE I do something with it. Been looking at it and a '97 ZJ I got, just thinking how much trouble it would be to start switching parts.
  18. Sure did. Took 3 cans of rubbing compound compound and 10 minutes.
  19. There is one here but I can't find it. Maybe one of the other guys will pipe in with a link. Go to Google. Type in "1988 MJ wiring diagram" Pick out which one you want.
  20. Got enough sheet metal pulled off the engine so it'l turn over. It fires but doesn't keep running. Sounds GOOD! oil pressure 40 lbs. 14-15 Volts on the gauge.poured 5 gallons of gas in the tank. Got good fuel flow and pressure. Looking for some ideas before I pull out the manual. Security light on the dash stays on. Everything power on it works, seats, wipers, windows, etc,.
