new to me manche, new to me problems...
jimoshel replied to beaterheep's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
replace the fuse with a amp meter. I made a special set of leads for mine with spade lugs instead of probes so I could plug it in and monitor whatever tests or what ever that I'm doing. If there isn't any thing on then there shouldn't be a reading. -
I've got the plane. Wanna find out? Any way there are formulas that give the estimated speed of falling objects. As usual I can't find anything when I want it. 120 mph is pretty much the accepted speed. things like temperature, humidity, etc effects it but 120 is generally accepted. Whether the motors running or not makes no difference.

That's pretty much it. They offered. I declined. There was no application form or nothing. The next thing I know is theey're billing me for a PP CC purchase, after I already paid by check.

$300 yes. $500 ?? would have to see the truck. :dunno:

I first signed up for PP in 2002. Was very happy with it. About a year ago they offered me a PP credit card. I declined. I purchased an item from EBay and paid the usual way, deduction from my checking account. $40. PP not only accepted my $40 bank deduction, they also added it to my PP CC, which I did not have. $80.Numerous USPS, Email and phone calls were futile. All they wanted was their money. Finally I sent them another check just to get them off my back. That's $120 I've paid. With that payment they stop billing me for the principle but now they're billing me for penalties, fees, late payment and interest, so far over $220 and still adding. I am saving every bit of correspondence and waiting for them to take me to court. However they will not do that as they know they can't win so they just keep the harassing phone calls and mailed billings going. Frankly if they don't take me to court then I will take them. Already talked to my lawyer, he's just waiting for the go ahead. I will never use PP again and I cannot recommend it to anybody.

I believe that looks like Gen Custers personal Jeep. The army wouldn't issue him one so he purchased it with his own funds. On that fateful day it was out of gas and so got left behind, explaining it's survival. If I'm wrong I'm sure someone will correct me. :smart:

1987 2.5, 4sp, 2WD.The black space is empty, nothing there. Altho the indicator lens is there if the vehicle doesn't have that accessory then there is no light socket behind that indicator. For example on mine there is a socket behind the brake, seatbelt, upshift arrow, low washer and engine check. The other positions are empty.

OK, I admit it. I am not axle savvy. Always thought the Ford 9 inch was the solution to all situations. Whats a TTB? Width permitting, can spacers, or adapters be used to change lug patterns? As the Dana numbers go up , 44,50, 60 do the axles(assemblies) get stronger? Can anyone recommend a site, user friendly, where Dana info is available,? I've checked out several, Wiki seems to have the most info but they're not exactly noted for their accuracy. Dana has a excellent site but doesn't go into much detail swapping parts. or giving info the user can use to see which parts swap. Any assistance much appreciated. Jim :dunno:

It's a beautiful morning. Sitting in the swing, enjoying my coffee, watching the bunnies playing in the yard, humming birds at the feeder, feeling the warm sun on my tired aching bones, the horses hanging their heads over the fence with the most pitiful look on their faces waiting to be fed, chickens, ducks, geese, guineas, cluckin, quackin, waiting to get fed, I'm just leaning back enjoying the beauty of it all,,,,,,,,,,,,,WHAT THE H*LL, a #$*&%$^ bird just pooped in my coffee cup. :fs1:

Been getting heavy rain storms here the past week. Getting more rain than we usually see in a year. went out checking on the vehicles. Three of them had water level with the door sills, several others had 2-3 inches on the floor. A rust (small) hole would have let the water drain out. Think I'll keep the solid floor and just dry them out.

Hoses, wires are everywhere..!!

That black vacum line looks like it might be for cruise control but a CC isn't showing in pics. Ist possible it had cruise but it's been removed? -
Anything mechanical can die under any circumstances. I have seen equipment babied to the extreme fail in less than half it's expected life span. I have seen equipment so horribly abused it had no business running, but it did, quite well in fact. Statisticly (you correct the spelling. I got tired looking) you can prove anything is a piece of junk, D35, 2,8, BA10 etc. But if someone has one with 200,000 miles on it you're just gonna have a hard time changing their minds. I have never had any of the above named items fail on me and I am hard on equipment, but if one of them did then yes, I would probably replace it with a better version.

Don't have a 90 but I do have a 89, close. That first wire IS for the oil sender. However it looks like it was removed and a mechanical gauge installed. The plastic hose going over the valve cover. In the last pic the red wire looks like after market, not factory original. Could be anything. After market gauge, direct hook up for stereo, trailer connect, etc.. Just trace it out. The others still look like heater valve control lines. -

OOOPS It was that first pic threw me. Looked like a 4cyl dist cap. -
Got the sloppy, floppy steering wheel problem. Problem is I can't get the right hand bushing out. Left side came out OK. So far I've snapped the head off of three bolts trying to remove it. First two times enough thread was left I was able to remove the stub. The last time it broke even and I can't get it out. I am thinking of three possibilities. Drill the broken bolt out and then drill and thread the hole to a larger size. Drill the whole bushing out. Drill a series of small holes around the bushing, removing the pressure on it. I have fixed maybe four of these before and never had this problem. Basically I'm just interested in knowing how some of you would handle it. If it comes down to 'have to' I've got enough columns laying around I can just swap the whole thing. Your thoughts? :hmm:

What year, engine? From the pics I would guess a '84-'86 2.5. The first pic looks like the oil pres sender. Red black I don't know. The others look like heater control valve lines. -
So what's wrong with feeling sorry for an idiot? '
