  1. Done that. Fixed it alright. hat hole will get bigger over time then one day its gonna crack down the middle and leak a gal of fluid within 5 min... thats what happened to me. To replace the bottle either go to a junk yard and get one from a xj or mj they can cost from 5-30 bucks used. Or you could get a new one for about 40 bucks from napa and a few other car part store. And the last thing you can do to replace it is build a bad @$$ box out of steel or aluminun that won't ever crack. Other then that you could convert your cooling system to an open system. Your sitting on a time bomb and need to get a "new" one asap. Brandon My fault. Wasn't clear on the situation. It's a '94 ZJ, 5.2 V8 and it's the plastic tank on the end of the radiator. I do have another radiator. It's just the hassle of replacing it.
  2. Can they be repaired? Got a pin hole leak on top of the rad tank about 3/8 of am inch from the end of the hose. At least it's accessible. Tried JB and it held for 2 days. Leaking again. Any help, ideas? :wrench:
  3. Bringing home another one. Another of my hobbies, restoring old tractors. I also posted his pic under my other toys. It applies both places
  4. What he said was that if you weren't paying attention is because he can't get without a point that went over the wrong way around the previous subject which hasn't changed in prior attempts bringing about the same results only with different outcomes resulting in some confusion on the parts of everybody. I hope that clears that up. :???: :thwak:
  5. $25 plus shipping.
  6. I've got one, from a '87 MJ. I'm not sure if the assembly was original or swapped. Is the spline count the same on these or are there different ones?
  7. Nope. This is the country. Insurance premiums would cost more than the repairs. The structures are covered and would be compensated if burnt but repairs to equipment isn't.
  8. Over a week ago there was a big *ssed wild fire burning South of me and headed this way. I checked th e trailer an truck and brought the horses in getting ready for evacuation. Thursday the pump went out leaving me with no water. 6 100 gallon stock tanks needing filling, a fairly nice fire sprinkler system for the house, barn and garage and no water. Yesterday they got the fire under control and today the pump crew just left leaving me with water and a hefty repair bill. Life is good, but sometimes hectic.
  9. Front or rear? Location?
  10. To prevent pre- ignition you need to retard the spark. Not advance it. One of the service stations money makers years ago was stations advancing the timing on tourists cars coming to the mountains. with the subsequent warning to be sure and retard it when leaving. Advancing the spark, one degree per thousand feet, helped improve combustion in the thinner air. It says on the emissions label on the firewall whether you have the Hi Altitude package or not.
  11. Anybody can buy and drive a 'ready to go, as is' vehicle. It takes real skill, talent, dedication and a loose marble to get one on the edge of the grave and resurrect it. If it were closer it'd be in my yard by now. Assuming of course that they're not asking some outrageous price for it. :wrench:
  12. Every body gets down in the dumps some time or another. Sometimes they say and or do things they meant at the moment but later wish they hadn't done it. Don't worry about it. Every member on this forum has been there at one time or another. Just stick it out and when the sun shines again you'll forget all about it. :wavey:

  15. Yes at Wally World or any auto parts. If for some reason you can't find any, let me know. I've got a couple cases of it.

One way to set a price. In 1979 I wrecked my '65 GTO convertable. Insurance was offering me $950 and I keep the car. My claim that it was a classic and a collector fell on deaf ears. I went to the local Chevy dealer, the Big A auto parts store owner and the NAPA store manager. I got a written offer for $3000 for the car from all 3 of them. The insurance paid. It was a small town where every body knew everybody. Something to think about.
  19. Hint; The closer a hotel is to the airport, the more expensive they get. Also it seems like they have more 'friendly' women.
  20. You don't need an additional relay to wire in a fan manual control dash switch. Use your existing fan relay and apply a ground (or 12V, whatever triggers the Renix fan relay) to the relay coil via the dash switch. With the dash switch in the OPEN position (not energized), the aux fan will continue to operate normally. I have a wiring diagram for this for the HO I can send you, but it's the same principle for the Renix. Wish I'd said all that but I was too busy bangin a bed post.

    ^ Got that right.
  22. When my uncle, a sailor, came home from the war, WWll, I wanted to join the Navy. I spent 4 years in the Army, 8 years in the Air Force and 1 year in the Corps. The closest I ever got to the Navy was in Barcelona when I bought cigarettes from the ships stores.
  23. I always thought the reason for Marines on a boat was for them to paddle when the engines quit.
