  1. I'm quite surprised it hasn't been done yet. I'd like to do it just so I can get a bigger sub back there. Money can be a limiting factor though.
  2. I like the 2-door one more. Mostly because of the Comanche tailgate and 97+ taillights.
  3. dakal, what flares are those? They remind me of the Austalian flares that were on a drag Comanche that somebody posted a video of maybe 6 months back.
  4. Off topic but that to a Comanche at all! That's like 2 different extremes!

are those surf boards on top?
  6. Done and done. Read lots of good things, looks like you'll be having fun with the set-up!
  7. Are you running a different crossmember for your long arms, or just putting the hangers on the frame only like leaf springs? Thank you for the RK info!
  8. I was curious about a Johnny joint over a bushing mainly, in case there would be any benefit in the panhard set-up.
  9. Don't mean to threadjack, and I'll think it'll improve the thread: What's everyone's thought on running a johnny joint on the frame end? I think a bushing would bind too much, and a standard heim would bring too much yuk to the road.
  10. Can I get some info on this? Never seen em before.
  11. :grrrr: Not such a bad price then. Those rims are killer.
  12. I've got the Rusty's bar, and it's just been put in with only 2 mild runs on it and some road use. At 5" of lift, the truck rides smooth and the track bar is not what's holding me back. Rusty's says the bar is good for 4-7" of lift, but at 7" I would worry about the tie rod end. The bars you are looking at, do they have heims or tie rod ends on the frame side?
  13. Yokohamas are great tires, and I've heard good things about them on and off road myself. $300 for one though?
  14. I considered grinding em a bit so the arm clears, but just need another excuse for long arms.
  15. I am at 5" of lift, and was worried over the little amount of metal left near my hole, so I welded up some flat bar in place to be more comfortable. In the end, I wound up with an adjustable track bar. And I as well am only running aftermarket lowers, but the caster change causes my lowers to hit the shock mount, which is my flex limiter, and ironically I'm making longarms this summer as well... This is all too creepy.
  16. That sounds like the right gearing for a stick shift. Pulled one on accident before. That was a Huge waste of time.
  17. Did you get workman's comp figured out?
  18. About a year ago this was discussed on here. The main thoughts against it were the braking system and the lack of weight that the MJ that will do the towing has. I wish I could think of the name, but you'll want to get a thing on the second Comanche that applies its brakes as the tower's brakes are applied. The concern with weight is that your towing Comanche won't be able to hold back the towee. If I was going to tow a Comanche with a Comanche, I'd have that brake thingy I was mentioning, an upgraded front braking system (something that requires 16" rims), a rear end that I wouldn't be worring about with some big drums, and a fully reinforced unibody, not as much for strength but more for extra weight, distributed through the entire truck. With that set-up I'd tow 30-40 miles. With a dually rearend and on a long box truck and somehow more weight and a larger motor, I'd be comfortable going farther.
  19. Whoo-hoo! My guess was good!
  20. Get a measurement from the center of your hub to the bottom of your flare. Someone here'll know the stock height. I have a guess, but those aren't accurate.
  21. Wouldn't be the AW4. Maybe a 909 or 999?
  22. Should be 4.10s on an '86. '87 was the start of the 4.56s in auto 2.5s due to the transmission change from the 904 to the (?)AW4. And if it helps my '86 2.5 auto was 4.10s.
  23. Like crankity-crankity-crankity-vroom-poom? Or crankity-crankity-crankity-vroom-vrom-vrm-poom? Have you tried holding down the gas pedal once it starts for a couple seconds if it's the second one?
  24. It seems to be a semi-common thought that a 12.5 should be on a 10" rim, and I'm curious where the idea came from. I'm not trying to insult you or anything, fiscus, but I've been curious. My father, you, and someone else have all mentioned this in the last month, so maybe it's about tire wear?
