  1. i was going to look at this 87 4x4 for sale. well on the way i noticed what is now my 89 Eliminator on the side of a house. well the 87 was really crappy and not worth the asking price. i decided that i was gonna leave a note in the mailbox of the 89's owner with my number in case he ever wanted to sell it. well as I'm pulling up to the mailbox, i see the guy outside. i went up to talk to him and the rest is history.
  2. and here i thought i was the only one...
  3. maybe
  4. your way better off keeping it open the rear for winter. the rear will want to pass you all the time if you lock it up.
  5. welcome, Mike!
  6. I'm running 12" stroke 5150s with the stock lower bar pin in the stock location and homemade adapters on top. i don't remember off hand but for some reason 4 1/2" up seems right. so yeah since the lower mount is lower, you should have sufficient uptravel. i have the exact same mounts for the rear (considering that is my picture lol). if it were me, i'd run the 12" strokes up front and 10" out back. here is an idea full flex full bump (zero rubbing)
  7. i think they might be a tad long. I'm running 11" strokes with about the same lift and the same mounts as you and i have about 5" up travel. (yes the tire would eat the fender before i extended the bumps.) what leaf packs are they, 4wd or 2wd? btw, if I'm correct in who you are, sick "go fast" XJ.
  8. got this in an email from rockauto.com. figured i should post it up in case anyone is in need of parts. http://www.rockauto.com/RSS/vehiclefeed ... &html=true
  9. no snow recovery...yet. however in the past month: i pulled out my neighbor from the ditch cause his burnouts got out of hand. :rotf: pulled the forklift from work out of a gravel driveway cause the idiot driving thought he could do a 90* turn in loose gravel and gun it at the same time. both times the winch was used. to get the forklift out i had to strap the rear bumper to a tree cause i was just sliding forward.

  20. So what do you think a turbo muffler is? something you bolt to the intake of the turbo to lessen the intake noise. :shake: Wrong. Next victim? agree to disagree

  22. my thoughts exactly, a turboback catback? sounds fancy, wish I had one. Ummm ... guys, a catback is an exhaust system from the catalytic coverter back. And a "turbo" exhaust is just a baffled muffler with fewer baffles than most OEM mufflers. thats not what i'd like to think.
  23. I'm still playing it. learned how to fly the smaller planes, still trying to work out the bugs on the 747 :D
