Project Camo Restoration
Dirteatr717 replied to kawaboy13's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
It's pretty simple, you can keep the leaf springs under the axle and get a new leafpack for how every much you would like or put the leaf springs on top of the axle and it should net you anywhere from 5-7 inches of lift from stock height. For the front once you go over 3 inches it's recommended you get at least longer lower controls arms, brakelines and a new trackbar... You should get an alignment after any lift and if you need more help just ask  -
Cigarette Lighter/Not Working

Before you go ripping anything apart check the iPhone charger wire in another car... Mine stopped working for some reason and I tried my friends in my outlet, it worked fine! Just a heads up  -
You could spend another 30 bones for a decent tarp :peek:

Yeah I got a set of 2" spacers and longer greasable shackles, but I've been slowly piecing together everything for a 6.5" lift and I already got my craiglist deluxe 33s.... Once you lift it a little you'll get the itch  I know I did hahaha -
I have a link somewhere, there's a guy on pirate who made his own bed and it's sitting on one tons and 38s I think  Edit: check all these pages a few of the CC members have posted on there http://pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.p ... 186&page=5

Project Camo Restoration

Sitting for 5 years didn't exactly help it but I would clean the back of the motor as best you can and check after a couple days... The 2inch lift isn't that bad at all I did it in my driveway in about 3 hours... You'll find it easier if you spray every nut and bolt with PB blaster for a week :wrench: -
I believe he has some of it in his build thread

My 89 4.0 takes a while to start up as well... If you turn the key to the ON position for a couple seconds then start the truck it shouldn't take as long....

I'm not sure but do you like camo or something? Looks like you have a solid foundation, what are your main plans for it? keep it up! -
I fit my cr-125 in my shortbed just fine, I leave the tailgate down and I've fit 3 dirtbikes in the back and it hauled it just fine... I would look for anything with a build date past late 89 if your looking for a 4.0 5speed.... If you find one and need opinions ask us with pics well help :wrench: Oh yeah welcome

Just think if you ever hit a tree there again you won't feel that bad :peek:

Holy crap! Wanna do my floors next? Good work keep it up! -
Brandon- just because someone has jogging shoes on doesn't mean they actually go running :D most rock crawlers try to have a lower center of gravity as most of the situations they get themselves into end up in off camber, sometimes impossible looking obstacles that most of those Floridian mud boggers would flip so easily on

Save it and if your replacing axles find a donor with a posi rear :dunno: -
I've put 93 octane in and I don't see a noticeable difference... I'm about 100 feet above sea level and I've tried it in the summer and winter... It runs the same and burns it just as fast :dunno:

Please post up more pics!

After I cut it out I'll tac weld the hinge on all corners to help... I don't do anything crazy in my jeep so that 25% shouldn't hurt it too much right?
-
I'm only 18 and I've been with my girl for under a year but I would try the date thing  neither of us have ever been kayaking before we met and tried it this past summer... Trying new things together can help build your relationship a little more because you guys conquered something entirely new to the both of you I wish you the best of luck -Nick

Pictures are worth a thousand words! Show us what your working with :wrench:

Thanks! Off to the hardware store to get some more cutoffwheels
-
As long as you don't take the hinge off it should be fine but I'm not sure what to cut... I've been having fun with my dremel lately and don't want to get ahead of myself :wrench:
