  1. Just read lead's write up on this. I've got pretty much a good idea on what to do. I'm looking at a 97+ XJ for replacement front end parts, just wondering if the cooling parts can still swap. Looks to be a pretty simple swap. Any body have any pointers or things to watch out for on this? Thanks in advance
  2. A pickup with one of those liftgate things on the back. He had a few scratches
  3. Looks like i'll get to do my 97+ conversion a little sooner. At least it still runs
  4. Well got to celebrate my 19th birthday in a not so fun way. Panic stops, rain slick roads, and locked brakes don't mix. It needs some work but it'll be back on the road in a few days
  5. Just did my floors on wednesday. Only had minimal surface rust, but painted right over it. The parts that still had factory paint i scuffed up. Should be good to go just knocking the loose stuff off
  6. :shake:
  7. Could be a hot wire going no where. My 92 had a bunch of hot wires behind the head unit, luckily i caught it before the whole truck went up
  8. Hey Jim, you know of any aftermarket support for these axles. Found one for 100 bucks with LS. Guy says its 5x5.5 but either way, i'm really considering this for a rear.
  9. Every time I look at this thing i get more an more jealous. How much lift would you say your running, 7"?. Pretty much the exact stance i want mine to be when its done. Keep up the good work
  10. Was a productive day, stripped the interior an POR 15'd the floor. Ran my cb wiring, and started working on installing my hitch. Still can't believe its lived in North Jersey its whole life  DS Before PS Before After
  11. As said before there is a fill whole on your differential
  12. Brakes viewtopic.php?f=2&t=25664&p=261883&hilit=bleeding+brakes#p261883 If you have the rear prop valve its a little different Idle is probably caused by the IAC (Idle air controller) in the throttle sticking. Remove it an clean it with some throttle body cleaner
  13. It doesn't matter what TNT is telling you that it should work. Using a PS drop axle in a vehicle with a DS drop involves extensive work to make happen
  14. If you and your shop are lacking in experience, i would go with a HP Dana 30 and be done. You keep referring to the 44 front, but if its PS drop it won't work without a lot of modification. Either find a later waggy front as has been stated already, or go Dana 30 and be done. Also if you plan on running 33's on a 4.5 inch lift i hope you plan on cutting. My 92 had a 5 inch lift an cleared 32's but i would need to cut for 33's
  15. Kind of hard to tell, i know a lot of 87's came with those mirrors. That black interior and lack of rust would be more than enough for me to buy it. Good luck
  16. JCR has a bunch of 1 ton steering stuff. They sell it all together or sell each piece. Could be a good option for ya. http://www.jcroffroad.com/Merchant2/mer ... ry_Code=S6
  17. Exactly my point. Why spend the money on an aftermarket diff cover if its really not needed. A lot of us have little to no extra money to spend. Who knows, painting may not have crossed his mind, and it IS an option. Figured i'd throw a little sense of humor in, no need to get so hostile. ;) I am quite capable of reading, and know exactly what the OP is looking for. Easy there.
  18. Cheapest one i could find http://www.homedepot.com/Reds-Pinks/Pai ... ogId=10053
  19. whos Eric?
  20. :agree: i hate the new look they shouldnt try and make the tj a truck. not a hoax...look it up on motortrend.com  No it is a hoax. That concept came out a few years ago, and different websites and magazines bring up stories about it now and then, but nothing has ever been produced. Hoax
  21. I think i might buy it. Probably won't do much with it for now. Will probably end up using it in my 4x4 conversion.
  22. Just found this on CL. 96 ax-15, reverse is shot apparently. 75 bones takes it. Is it a good deal? Seems to be worth it to me. http://newjersey.craigslist.org/pts/1956409808.html
  23. The 90 has the AX 15, the 89 might depending on when it was built. Check both for rust, rockers, bedsides, cab corners, o an THE FLOORS!!!
