  1. check the starter relay ( on the PS of the motor) its got a bunch of wires running out of it. That was my problem on my 89
  2. Plans for now are DD status, come spring i'll be buying a new truck, and the 89 will become the project. Initially it was going to be a small lift, and a few upgrades. Now i'm thinking D44 front and rear, long arms, locked front and rear and some meaty 35's. Who knows if that plan will stay, too many ideas in my dome :chillin:
  3. Salt pisses me off too, but its made it 21 years of NJ road salt, one more shouldn't do too much more damage, i'm slowly working on winterizing it anyway. Got a few little visuals done, painted the wheels metallic dark gray, and painted the tailgate letters. Also got a pic from when i did the exhaust.
  4. had there 4.5" spring over kit on my 92, it was alright. Wasn't the best quality, didn't ride all too bad. There are definitley much nicer kits out there though
  5. good to know  , i don't go that way as much as i used to, all depends on where i have to go in Virginia
  6. i've got a set of gray buckets if you wanna pay shipping
  7. Heading to VA yesterday, and saw a red long bed heading north on 15 just past the mcdonalds. Anybody from here?
  8. Haven't tore into a Renix motor in a while, but i'm pretty sure that what you're pointing to is the Idle Air Controller (IAC). This may also be part of your stalling issue. The other pick is your PCV valve which should have a vacuum line on it if i remember correctly
  9. well i think i started my project thread a little early. for now the 89 is acting as DD/beater until spring when it will come off the road, and the project will really begin
  10. crutchfield has a lot of good stuff. I've always been an alpine fan, but i have been very impressed with kenwood lately, so much so i have there door speakers in the mj along with my alpine head unit. Personally i would look at both an see what they have that meet your needs, i'm sure either company would be worth it
  11. here's your stickers http://www.jeepsticker.com/mj.htm
  12. Lets see, Trans appears to be a Peugeot BA/10-5, T-case is an NP231, Front axle dana 30, rear dana 35. Interior was changed, according to the build sheet it came with a bench and mini console. All the chrome has been swapped on, says the front used to be color matched. Slider is original, vent windows aren't. Overall though original or not, thats a very sweet looking truck, and your interior is a mirror image of mine bit tan. Sweet truck man
  13. Not sure if theres one of these, a but i had to post this up http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Pro-Stre ... ars_Trucks
  14. Outer Banks  really wanna go there
  15. Yes auto= 3.55 gears. My question is whats your driving style like? If you put your foot in it everywhere you go, your MPG's won't be pretty
  16. Negative, I have a brother Will, but he drives a dodge
  17. Ah ok, never knew J truck axles were wider then Waggy's. I knew that Waggy axles run in the area of 60". Thanks guys, i'll see what this guy says
  18. was just putting a list together for the 89's spring build up. searching for axles, and found this. http://newjersey.craigslist.org/pts/1914731570.html. Contacted the guy, an from what i found in my searches, as long as its from 1980 or later, this will be driver side drop? Just looking for confirmation on this
  19. Friend request sent to all, here's mine http://www.facebook.com/#!/profile.php? ... 0037780719
  20. phillipsburg's a pretty cool old town, i go through there goin to my brothers house. only about an hour from there. i'll be goin through there next week
  21. i'd say about there. i've lifted it with another person, and its heavy, but it can be done
  22. Depending on which way you come, might possibly see ya, most likely not though. NW Jersey here :waving: , and yes we have woods and forests up here, and no you can't get to my house from an exit on the parkway or turnpike :rotf:
  23. if you take your time it can be done pretty good in my opinion. did the windows on my XJ an my buddy's S10. Came out pretty good. If possible do it indoors, the wind makes it a pain
  24. :agree: , been to montclair a few times, nothing special. No wheeling in that area either anyway. Most wheeling spots in jersey are in the north or in the south. Some of the beaches aren't bad, just gotta pick the right one
  25. First one will fit, second one won't. Oh, an Comanche has 1 "M"
