  1. Those shackles are for taking poser shots, you probably wouldnt like them.
  2. Looks like a very poor copy of the IRO kit. If its cheap enough you may be able to use peices of what's there but I would not use that arm set up.
  3. https://m.facebook.com/specfab Here's a link to our facebook page.
  4. The super rare extra short box MJ.
  5. Those are nice. I recently painted my first rc body, previously I had always bought prepainted ones. It came out pretty nice but nothing like yours, now I can appreciate how much work goes into one.
  6. I do appreciate your opinion, I've asked around a few places and $1000-$1500 seems to be what people are guesing. I figured I would start at the upper end since you rarely get the full asking price, I also don't NEED to sell these so its ok if they don't sell right away.
  7. $1500 is just a place to start, everything in the axles besides the front unit bearings was brand new and they MIGHT have 2000 miles on them now. I figure it wouldn't be a bad deal for bolt in turn key axles. the guy who can build his own axles won't be interested in these, but the guy who can't will be in a set almost twice that. Here's just what's inside the axles.
  8. I wonder if $1500 would be a realistic place to start?
  9. I'm going to build a 3 or 4 link,I'm not a fan of leafs on the front of a rig. If you can do it yourself a 3 link is cheap, I just did a YJ and I am in it about $300.
  10. There was a guy on FB yesterday in Mass. wishing the same thing. So far Ive got a couple people interested , just need to come up with a price.
  11. A boosted 4.0l isn't that uncommon so I don't think that will be much of a problem. The issue is that no matter what you do to the engine an MJ is too small/light to make much of a tow rig.
  12. Ultimate Towing and Comanche don't go together. It could have 1000 ft lbs of torque, it still won't do what a stock full size can do. What would you tow with it?
  13. Getting ready to sell my axles to build my new ones but not sure how much to start at. Up front non cad HP D30, trussed, 4.88s, spartan locker, 297 shafts. I also have a set of big joint spare shafts to go with it. The rear is MJ D44,4.88, spartan locker, vented disc brakes.currently set up for MJ soa or sua and I have a spare short shaft (fits both sides) with new bearings. Both axles were built about a year ago and have very low miles.
  14. Mines a High pinion but I didn't get quite the deal you did.
  15. 77 was a split year, is your front HP or LP? Either way that's a great deal.
  16. Nice, that's the same front axle that I'm getting ready to swap into my MJ. I'm most likely doing a 14bolt rear though since I already have one laying around.
  17. I've read about them but I don't think I've ever seen one.
  18. Did he measure the tires with air in them? My buddies 38.5 swampers measure 35" aired down.
  19. Calculator says 33.83x 11.20 So basically a 34" tire
  20. Even if the wheels did fit you would have to do some serious cutting to clear the tires.
  21. I would suspect the disc brake equipped rig would have more stopping power, typically with the disc brake swap the rest of the system gets upgraded as well. My rear D44 has 11" vented disc brakes and I'm running a dual diaphram brake booster, it feels like it has a lot more stopping power then it did stock.
  22. How does one get "tons" from a 3/4 ton truck? I imagine a D60 front is possible, most were D44 front and D60 rear.
  23. I know a guy with a stock daily driven MJ that never leaves pavement , he has replaced one 4.0l and had the D44 rebuilt. The Peugeot is still working fine. I also know another guy who wheeled the crap out an XJ with a Peugeot for about a decade, when he finally parted the rig the trans was in perfect working order,IIRC its under another XJ now. I don't think I would put one back in a rig, but I wouldn't go out of my way to take one out.
