  1. When was the last time you replaced the cap and rotor? Rob
  2. I initially read this as "Just a tip when it comes to MJ collectables. They should come to my place, or Pete M's." Could be translated that way... Rob
  3. I have one. I know of a bunch of member who have them too. They show up on eBay from time to time. They were handed out with the introduction of the MJ. You are just at the tip when it comes to MJ collectables. You should come to my place, or Pete M's. Rob
  4. From the pic you posted Jim, that don't look like any factory issued step bumper to me... Rob
  5. Yep. They are still interested in selling off things, but the same BS applies. Last year someone on the group needed a COP 4.0 for their WJ. I knew there was one sitting there, so I talked to Jodi, and we agreed on $500. Week came to go pick it up, and her brother told her that it was worth $800, and that if she was selling it for $500, he would buy it himself. Explaining the situation to her, and how long that engine has been sitting... Tried convincing her, but her brother was pulling the puppet strings. Know where that engine is now? Still sitting on the side of the garage. I wish her brother in law that I worked with was in charge. If he was, we could probably walk away with the whole thing in exchange for taking stuff away. Rob
  6. Yep. Do you remember what it looked like when we left? It looks the same way. No one else has been in there since us. Rob
  7. Good to see you found your way here. With all the experience you have with Jeeps, you should be a handy guy to have around. Oh, and there is always room on the couch for one more. Rob
  8. This Jerry from the AMC hoarder's place Jerry? Did Wade finally rub off on you? Rob
  9. Do an aussie. I hear great things, and it doesn't require gear setup. Rob
  10. First time in a diff? Regular axle lube is bad enough, but wait until you crack one open that requires friction modifier... Mmm. Is it weird I sort of like the smell of gear lube? Rob

    Teardrop!

Is all of that mold/mildew? Rob
  12. Overall, in the time I have had it now, I like it. The key setup with the spaces was a bit weird, but really, the spacing was about the same as the old laptop I had, so my fingers just fall into place. The speed is good, and these speakers are unlike anything else I've experienced in a laptop. Just awesome. From what I gather, Toshiba's aren't too shabby either. Rob
  13. This month we honor a member who has recently passed on. This one is for Joe. ---SPECIAL TRIBUTE - BEATERJEEP ---COMANCHE OF THE MONTH - OCTOBER 2011--- Lets start with the first post in a thread of his creation, the "Who am I talking to?" Thread: Here Joe show's his true dedication to the club... Haha. Even though he should have been getting ready to go to the hospital, he had to get that one last CC fix before he left: http://comancheclub.com/forums/viewtopi ... =3&t=21242 And finally, let's look at some of Joe's labors of love. :D Baby: '88 Comanche 2.5L AX5 2WD Joe's favorite truck. He had many plans with it, which were ever changing. Overall, the grand scheme was to lower it, and make it a sleek street truck. Of the Jeep's he sold or thought about selling, this was the mainstay. The one that could never be sold. It was an extension of his personality, and had a character and story all of its own. From the jump it took at 45 mph, to the dent in the cab from a deer sideswiping, it was his pride and joy. viewtopic.php?f=7&t=4501 MJ15: '86 Comanche 2.8L AX5 4x4 D30/35 This was the truck he got from another member, who bought mine, and sold him this one. He actually drove, picked up a load of parts from my place by Chicago, and took them to Ohio where he bought the truck, and took it back to Northern WI. This was the only time I actually met Joe. viewtopic.php?f=7&t=5687 -------------------------------------------------------------------- Joe, your going to be missed. A longtime Comanche Club member, and Jeeper. I'm sorry to say we couldn't have hung out more. Always there to help, lend advice, or a funny response to the group, it was never a dull moment. Even when life was getting you down, you weren't afraid to talk about what was going on with your condition, or explain to someone what living with Cystic Fibrosis was all about. You fought the good fight, well surpassing what the doctors told you would be your life. You made the best of it, but you were unfortunately taken away too soon. I invite all of you to place Joe's photoshop of Baby into your signatures for the month of October in honor of him. This month is to you Joe. Wish you were still here. Rob
  14. **this post edited by the management**
  15. That one got ugly in a hurry. Yoink! Rob 8)
  16. We know, we know... We were getting there, but it requires cracking open the skeleton of the site... And the big boss is on vacation. Rob
  17. Have you checked the front marker light sockets yet? IIRC, they are usually the cause... Also, in an effort to find the short, start isolating portions of the circuit. For example, unplug the rear harness, and turn on the lights. If it doesn't blow, you know the problem is in the rear harness. If it blows, you know that you need to start closer to the switch. Rob
  18. Check your local parts stores. You'd be surprised to find that they can actually get it, and it comes as sections/assemblies. Rob
  19. Looks like you won, but in exchange, I want to know about this "hater" Rob
  20. +1 Rob
  21. If you want to, I probably have a grey mini console laying around if you would like to trade that one for it. Rob
  22. Even when I am away from the home computer, my fingers always type out comancheclub.com/forums Habit. Just like when I start spelling things like Commander, or Command, once I hit the an- it always ends up with a -che before I have to go back and concentrate on what I am trying to type. Rob
  23. Shouldn't have to fold the mirrors to get those off. The ones you are after are three torx screws under the little triangle cover on the inside. Pull the door panel if you care about it, or pull the edge down enough to get to the screw that holds that cover on, and then there will be some foam. Pull off the foam, and the three torx should be staring you in the face. Rob.
  24. Pete and I have toyed around with the idea... Or replacing it with something else. We've talked about perching the MJOTM there, with a link to the thread. I think its a combination of my busy schedule and Pete's trademark memory that keep it from coming to fruition. My question to you sir, is, why you starting off on that page? Rob
  25. So, if you don't mind me asking, what did they end up giving you for the truck, and how much to buy it back? Curious minds would like to know. Rob
