  1. Little something to cheer you up Correy: Rob L.
  2. That's a good plan. Rob L.
  3. Ah, sorry. So at least that outrules the ground. Now start looking to see why the pos has low volts. Probably a bad connection... Rob L.
  4. Not really. If the problem IS the ground, just grounding it through the ground pin or the chassis, would produce the same bad results. Rob L.
  5. Pos on the pin, ground on neg of battery... Sorry. Rob L.
  6. What about if you ran a lead back to the batt? Would you end up with 12V at the pin? Rob L.
  7. The ballast resistor is a quick fix, and often goes bad also. Rob L.
  8. I know there are a few people on the group that would just weld a steel rock slider in place. I have also heard that you can use a trilgate guard off of a '94-'01 dodge ram to weld in, as it has almost the same contour, and can be had in diamond plate. I have 2 complete rocker sections from a 2 door cherokee that I was going to use, until Paul, mfpdm, sold me the rockers and a cab corner off his parted MJ. Look for a 2 door cherokee in the yard, and cut out the section you need... Might be easier to find than a clean MJ section. Rob L.
  9. I'm down to two vehicles! Time to organize the ol' garage, and pull in the MJ for a winter of rebuilding. Rob L.
  10. Thats no bueno. Those numbers seem a little on the low side... Rob L. Yup, which would happen if the timing was off. Agreed. Rob L. :D
  11. Thats no bueno. Those numbers seem a little on the low side... Rob L.
  12. Ideally should have battery voltage at the pump... 12V or better. A lot of member have problems with the ground on these trucks. There is a bed to chassis ground in the tail light housing I would also reccommend checking. Rob L.
  13. I am a fan of the chrome center cap, and chrome lugs... The full piece jeep center looks a little out of place. Rob L. :dunno:
  14. Just tyring to correct a common mistake, but it is a "catalytic" converter. There is no such thing as a "cadillac" converter. No worries mate. Rob L. ;)
  15. :agree: A lift kit or suspension components are not things to cheap out on. Afterall, you are riding on top of these things. For what your looking for, this is what I would do: Cherokee Country/ V-8 ZJ coils ($15 ea, by me from a yard) Chevy drop Shackles off ebay ($100 set, ebay) This will get you an inch to 2" real easy, and for under $200. But before you buy a "cheap" lift, save, spend some decent money, and thank yourself later. What I listed like Eagle said, with the shackles, will put a little more work on the rear springs, but IF you HAVE TO get it done quick, and on the cheap, that'd be the way I would go. Another way to go is this: Cherokee Country/ V-8 ZJ coils ($15 ea, by me from a yard) Metric Ton Comanche Leafs. ($25 ea, by me from a yard) This would be better, as you get a stronger rear spring set, and a lift at the same time. And, although hard to find, metric ton MJ springs are out there, and will be a direct bolt in. Will this be used off road? and how often? Rob L.
  16. Any quality lift company should have what you need. I use RubiconExpress.com A list you could use to search for manufacturers of quality components: Rough counrty Rancho BDS suspension Rubicon Express Rustys Pro-comp Trailmaster Black diammond Rob L.
  17. For lift kits, stick to the "brand name" manufacturers. The JCWhitney looks to have lumped MJ's in with XJ's... We have a spring under rear suspension, so lift block, installed in the correct way, are actually lowering blocks on a comanche. You want to look for a cheap set of coils, and possibly an add a leaf. Hell creek suspensions, a member here, manufacture a full-true add a leaf that works with our trucks, and would be the way to do. http://www.hellcreeksuspensions.com Rob L.
  18. I would start with a burnt out light. Are you sure your in 4wd? Rob L.
  19. Grand cherokee V-8 coils (same as cherokee country coils) make about 1 inch of lift in the front of an MJ, and chevy drop shackles can also net a small lift, about 1 inch. You can fit 31" tires stock with some trimming though. Rob L.
  20. Did you just tack the panels then seal the edges, or welded them all the way around? Rob L.
  21. Put that locker in your MJ yet Wade? Rob L.
  22. Didn't I read somewhere that a 4.0L HO in a 2wd SWB was faster on the 1/4 than its corvette year equivalent in '91-2? I think I read that in some of my old comanche literature... :hmm: Rob L.
  23. Not always. Just look for cracks and dry-rot. Plus, the WJ's really arent THAT old, so chances are, they will still be in good form. Rob L.
  24. Lookin good Darren. Glad you decided to keep it. Rob L.
