  1. I too, thought that it looked a ton like a ZJ in front... BUT, if you look closely, its all in the turn/headlights... The grill is the same, as are the headlights/turns... But the smoked lenses over the lights make it look like a ZJ combo... The ZJ's grill is straight, the TC's has the normal "bend". Also, the ZJ grill dipped into the bumper, the TC's doesn't. Rob L.
  2. A guy I bought a jeep from stated that there was a state(OK I think) Where if you bought a vehicle w/o a title or lost yours, you paid like $400 in court fees, and go to the local court. When you got there, you basically went in front of the Judge, he asks "Do you swear that this vehicle is not stolen..." and you walk out with a title, free and clear... Anyone verify? Rob L.
  3. Ok, so my list and these shots for Brent... any other serious desires before I send this back? Rob L.
  4. :agree: Holy Crap. Rob L.
  5. Wow even the tool list! Nice job Brent! Rob L.
  6. Those could be found on late model TJ's... Rob L.
  7. I asked for pics specifically for the purpose of the group, so sharing won't be an issue. I think the only reason Pete couldn't take pics of it, was that he wasn't there to see "it" specifically. As for Darren and Correy... Rob L. :D
  8. Ok. Just wanted to check to see if you knew what you were getting into... The '86 MJ has a shorter engine compartment, and it takes a little "firewall massaging" to get the back of the 4.0 to fit in the engine bay. As well as the entire harness will have to be swapped. It wouldn't be as easy as if you were to find an '87-'92 2.5L or bad 4.0L and swap that way... But it sounds like you have the plan taken care of... I hope you can find your tow. Rob L.
  9. In a search for access to the Thunderchief concept, or any additional photos that might be floating around at Chrysler... after getting the runaround from a few places, I was wondering if I'd ever get through...and was ready to give up. But, I sent one more message, and this is what I got back: Soooo.... I need all of you guys to give me a list of what you would like pictures of... I know the general stuff. I want to know if you want closer pics of this or that, or maybe a detailed shot of etc... Bottom line, if you want a pic of it, we need to compile a list of angles, positions, and objects y'all want. Also any details, I am sure he might know or can find out for us. This is what I have so far: PICS: Front Back Sides Interior Bed interior Engine compartment Under Truck from Rear Under Truck from Front Headliner Instrument panel Seats Floor DETAILS:(IF POSSIBLE) Backstory Engine Trans Transfer-Case Axles Gearing Any modifications to note These are 2 press release pics for reference... Let me know... Wonder if he'll throw a ComancheClub.com sticker on it? :brows: Rob L. ;)
  10. I guess the first question is, why are you buying it, and what are your plans? Welcome to the madness... Rob L.
  11. Yep been around for a few years... I've seen them on a skid steer. Its called a "tweel" FWIW. Rob L.
  12. Since I am weird, and eccentric at times... I only have one gun, and if you break in... Its not something you want to be staring down... Its a 1942 Russian Mosin-Nagant M91-30. Uses a 7.62X54 MM round... Common Russian sniper rifle. Awesome gun. Easy to fire, reliable, and simple... Big and heavy, but thats the trade off. Did I mention this thing is dead nuts accurate? Rob L.
  13. Its still in the family... They sold it to a nephew... But I don't think he is the sharpest tool... But its still around... Rob L.
  14. Its got quite the story... It was owned by an AMC jeep nut. His garage (heated pole barn) is something we would all dream of... Attic and shelves full of labeled AMC/Jeep parts of yesteryear... Custom stuff, oddities... a 4.2L with 0 miles... a gremlin... AMC Hornet wagon with a 304... 2 door XJ with a 4.2L... builder parts... 2-3 Javelins... lift... blocks...trannies...axles everywhere... He built this truck for himself. All the body panels are one off, and fiberglass. Its the small touches too... Notice the hidden winch in the other pics? Everything works, it drives like a dream, and it has a full tan leather MJ interior, with full gauges working off the FSJ stuff. Even the small touches, like mocking up an MJ sized FSJish grille... Taillights in the rear fenders... Its amazing and clean in person. The builder passed away a few years ago. They found him in the gargage, doors open, tunes cranking, javelin on the lift, passed away on the couch in his office. Probably just felt a little funny and sat down... great way to go. Sitting in your garage, surrounded by your passions. The kids were selling the FSJ MJ a couple years ago, I think that they were asking 6-8K... Its well worth it, i'd have bought it if I had the money... I work with his son in law. Right now his old house is for sale, and they need to get rid of all his jeep stuff... They are selling it cheap, but I am the only one showing any interest, and its hard to co-ordinate with the kids... They seem too busy... I have a feeling whoever buys the house will get all the stuff, and trash it. I thought about buying the 4.2L XJ, but its unfinished, so I wouldn't know where to start... But, for the complete XJ, and all XJ parts there go with it, they only want $500... Oh well... Rob L.
  15. I wished I had taken more pictures of it, but the one I posted in the other thread is an MJ on a J-10 chassis... This one: It sports the Dana 44's, a 360, and retained all stock drivetrain components from the J-10... The owner just made custom fiberglass panels to keep the wheels trucked in, and made a mini-j-truck out of an MJ. Its cool in person, and well built. IIRC, he did what has been said, and took out the MJ unibody, and fabricated mounts and bushings to get the two to work together... Rob L.
  16. I thought that too, But on second thought, is he posting that to let you look at all his other pictures? Rob L.
  17. You talking about the rubber line or the hard line with the coil around it? Rob L.
  18. 2.5L Never really had the head work like the 4.0L Did in '91, so I think that the '87-'01 is accurate... But as stated... It might not just drop into the rest of the system without some work... Rob L.
  19. If your having trouble with the sizes, and one doesn't fit, and the other is too loose, it may be vise-grip time... Rob L.
  20. Well, you could always "Custom" make some fender flares and panels if you used FSJ axles. And while your making the flares, might as well go hog wild with the fiberglass :brows: : Rob L.
  21. Figured as much... I wouldn't be able to imagine finding an MJ down there... I bet its like trying to find a rust free one up here... Doesn't happen often... Let alone builder parts and old vehicles... Rob L.
  22. What gears? Think you could sell them or trade for narrow's? Got to be someone looking to go bigger and get rid of their old axles... Rob L.
  23. From what i hear that AMC20 is a good solid axle to run... Rob L.
  24. ...I see administrators... Rob L. :waving:
