  2. Yep, exactly why I wrote that. Rob L.
  3. What kind of camera do you use? Rob L.
  4. Looks like your going to have to re-do the body work on the white one. Rust has re-gripped it again. Rob L.
  5. Yeah... RMS seems like a big undertaking, but it really isn't. Rob L.
  6. They are known for that. The ceramic in the shifter gets brittle, and they break off from the threaded nut. Pain in the butt. I think the later TJ/XJ's have a better designed shifter knob if you want to bring it back home to stock. Rob L.

Best MJ story: It would have to be when i first got my truck. I was going to look at a 4x4 Pioneer that somebody told me about. Well that truck had seen better days and i thought they were asking a bit too much for what it was. Well on my way home, i spotted (what is now my truck) a red Eliminator that was sitting near the side of a garage. It looked pretty clean so i decided i should drop a note in the owners mailbox. Well as i was writing the note, the owner happened to come outside to get the mail. I approached him and the rest is history. What owner loves best about CC: friendship, hands down. i feel like i can get to know somebody via CC so that first time physically meeting is no big deal. I feel i have gained life long friends from CC. I just want to say thanks for the opportunity. One of the first days home, test fitting a tire off my mom's TJ. i was dumb and didnt take a first day home pic. just picture a cap and red wheels. :ack: the first time out of the garage wearing the fresh paint job. it has gone through quite a few different lift combo's. this was really the first lift that i kept for a little bit. i kept it clean, only seeing road duties for a good year. it only took one trip to get the bug and it was all downhill (or maybe uphill :D ) from there. its still clean (for MJ standards) but it has some battle wounds. here are just various pics... Gorgeous truck Wade. I have had the privilege of seeing it in person a handful of times, and truly a well done MJ. One of the cleanest I have seen. If it was mine I wouldn't take it out in the rain, let alone wheel it as hard as you do. The detail in your work is awesome. Doesn't hurt that your a good guy in person either. Always willing to lend some advice on the board, or make a contribution to the topic. Congrats on being May's MJOTM! Another great MJ another great owner. Rob L.
  8. Riight. Rob L.
  9. Eagle makes a very interesting point and :agree: I think I buy more stuff than the average person and have always had a problem when dealing with people on buying their stuff. If it's good quality or desirable and the price is fair there is no problem. When it's a piece of sh*t and the price is out of sight is something else. Usually I just thank them for their time and walk away. Don't p*ss somebody off. You may want to deal with them later. More than once I have ordered some *sshole off my property when they ticked me off. I offer something for a fair price and they insult me with a counter offer. One thing I have found that works pretty good for me is to keep the conversation friendly, Don;t get aggressive or show annoyance. Don't tell them it's not worth what they're asking. Just say it's a little more than you can afford. If it's something I want but think the price is to high I tell them to go ahead and try and sell it for what they're asking. However if they haven't sold it within a week- 10 days, I tell them to call me and I will give them $XX for it. I find this works for me over half the time. Every body likes to dicker. It's part of the game. Just be reasonable about it. Happy shopping. Jim :smart: I am with ya Jim. I take it a step further though, and have them a business card of mine with the price I want to pay, and my phone number. I tell them, that if you call this number, you are guaranteed to get this much when I come back. It works great. Its like giving someone a check, and saying hold on to this for me. Almost like they have the cash in hand... So when they get looking at that card, they see the money in their hand. I suggest everyone do this. Rob L.
  10. Should I orchestrate another LKQ trip? What say the townsfolk? :dunno: Rob L.
  11. JB Weld? Rob L. :dunno:
  12. I thought the stripes were only above the lower body line? I thought the bedlined part was always just silver, without decals. Rob L. :dunno:
  13. This thing is going to look good. I can't wait to see the finished project in the daylight. Rob L.
  14. Unfortunately, the bulk of the AMC stuff is not for sale. Rob L.
  15. You might break a couple, but just soak the nut on the frame with some penetrant, and take your time. You can always drill out a broken bolt. It also depends on where the truck is from. If its spent some time in the rust belt, you might have a few problems. Rob L.
  16. You will have to change out the sender/pump out of the later model one, and put in yours. Rob L.
  17. Fiasco? Yeah, sorry man. You missed the boat by a few weeks. I might be able to get you in if you want. Rob L.
  18. Nope same springs. ZJ's too. V-8 Grand Cherokee ZJ coils have the same part number as Up country XJ's, and will lift a stock 4.0L MJ about an inch. Rob L.
  19. Got a text from Pete, sold for $8000. Rob L.
  20. May the MJ force be with you. Rob L.
  21. Headed out. See you cool dudes in a hour. Rob
  22. Easy, 4BT cummins, 6 speed, 4x4, Dana 44's. Longbed, late model XJ style. Rob L.
  23. You don't have to drive the MJ unless you want to. Its just more of a bunch of like-minded dudes hanging out. But, I understand you want it fixed. I'll be driving the ZJ. :chillin: Rob L.
  24. I like it. Looks to be an all around solid DD with practical roots. Rob L.
