    Holy crap!

Well I was wrenching away at work today, and had something happen that I have never experienced... Thought I would share. The arborist wanted to change his blades on his 14" turbo diesel chipper (HUGE BLADES), so I set him up to get it done, and thought he would be ok. I was just finishing up inspecting one of the squads, and heard a huge slam and pieces fly everywhere in the back shop. Then this little guy came skipping in from over 50 feet away. :hmm: Any guesses? I thought it was a bearing race or something... Until the arborist came walking in with this... He was torquing down the last blade to 250 ft lbs, and the torque wrench just figured it was off the team. It let loose with such force, it sent it bouncing around the chipper, hit the garage door, and slid another 40 feet to in front of where I was working. Kinda funny, I heard the bang, took a few steps forward to look out, and this just came to a halt at my feet. I could only imagine what that little piece of hardened steel could have done if it would have hit the arborist. Just wanted to share that. Expect the unexpected. Rob L. ;)
  2. I wish someone would so I could get the build date! Rob L. :D
  3. It is still with 89Eliminator for the time being... I will post pics when it officially changes hands... I had to make room! :shake: Rob L. off topic is jakemans new mj your old metric ton? it look familier Yepper. His girlfriend was without a car, and she wanted a truck. So she's making payments right now! Meanwhile, Jake is still tooling around in the Pontiac... Rob L.
  4. Look on youtube for a couple of vids off the History channel... American marvels, or the history of the Jeep... Here is the first part. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=djxxOi6NkUI Its in five parts, and starts with the story of American Bantam, Ford, and Willys motors, and end up with :vomit: the hummer at the end. Explains the story well with few errors. Rob L.
  5. Hey, I like the ideas. Chrysler needs something to keep afloat. Say what you want, but there is a reason that Toyota, Honda, and the others were doing so well while the big three were hurting. They knew how to make an econo-poo-box. And did it well. I think that the Fiat offerings into the Pentastar brand are a good thing. Even if we do have to swallow a jeep entry-level econo box. It will at least be better built (I hope) than the compass it replaces. More money in the overall brands means a better stronger company. I like the way the stinger looks, the Durango becoming more Ram-ish, and less bubbly, that "lil' ram express" gets a star in my book too. While Ford is running away with the transit connect, there is no competition. Way to go Chrysler. You get a thumbs up from this Jeeper. Rob L.
  6. Yep. I am taking the drivetrain and entire wiring harness. After that, the rolling chassis will go to the highest bidder. Rob L.
  7. TURBOCHARGED 520CI?!?!!?! Yowza. Rob L.
  8. It is still with 89Eliminator for the time being... I will post pics when it officially changes hands... I had to make room! :shake: Rob L.

  10. Took a little spinach to shove that thing around the road and up and down the mountable curb to turn it around and stick it back in the garage. Little assist on the steering from Angela, but she couldn't really turn the wheel, and she kept hitting the brakes and stopping my momentum... :shake: I kept having to run up to the door and crank the wheel through the window, and then run to the front or back and push while she enjoyed the ride... and killed the momentum. :rotfl2: But I suppose I can give her an A for effort. Rob L. :D
  11. Something tells me your folks would not like me if I sold that to you, and you had another to move from the right hand side of the road to the left hand side of the road once a month. Rob L. :rotfl2:
  12. Not too shabby. Kinda band-aiding an amputation with the headers on a 2.8L... But I am in agreement with not replacing it with the crappy stock manifolds since the headers are so cheap. Good find! Rob L.
  13. Nothing special, I was just moving things around in the garage, and pulled out the object currently residing in the middle of it. And I smiled a bit. :D Just the half MJ. Moved it around to the back so I could pull in the '92 to start wrenching and teardown. And since the more I think about it, it seems like the staff here have secret MJ's, or we don't post them up much. :dunno: So here's the '92, moving around by manpower, and heading into the garage to meet a grim fate. And an old bumper sticker that graced the bumper on one of the old beat around MJ's. Rob L.
  14. Ok, normally, I HATE clear corners and euro like add ons, but you get my vote on this one man. AWESOME! Rob L.
  15. Tis why I asked. Don't cut up a LWB roll bar, they are a rarity. I would see if you could find someone with a SWB rollbar to trade, or sell the LWB one outright for cash to buy a SWB. I know there are a few members who would spill blood to get ahold of a LWB bar. Rob L.
  16. LWB? SWB? Rob L.
  17. New would be the way to go here... The JY part will probably be in the same shape. If you plan on keeping the truck for awhile, just get the new one. Rob L.
  18. For now, I would buy a receiver hitch. Rob L.
  19. He's got where I was going... Just making sure you used a complete kit, and didn't jack up any pinion angles causing the vibe. Rob L.
  20. Good point, didn't even catch that! Rob L.
  21. Doesn't look like much from the back, or like they really use it... Maybe it will be one of those cases where they will be more than happy to get rid of it cheap, but never gave it thought until you came knocking... Or at least drop a CC card, and gain a member. Rob L.

Bob with the assist! :clapping: 3 Points to win it! Crowd goes WILD! AHHHHHHH! Rob L. :D
  23. I did that with a free table on CL. They showed a picture of the table, and along side of it, I noticed some very familiar body lines. Looked like a J-truck. Emailed about the truck, and got a good response from the owners. They told me they used it for plowing, but might move in the near future, that the truck isn't going to come with, and I would be the first to know. Rob L. ;)
