  1. It works with any Android Phone running 1.5 + I believe. There are a few vids on youtube with people running HTC HD2. Rob L.
  2. Just got my OBD connector in the mail today, so... AWESOME!!!! I found out that there is a free app called Torque on the Android Market that is a basic OBD II scanner that uses a bluetooth OBD device, so I had to try it out. The program was free, so I just found the unit I needed on eBay, and ordered it up straight from Hong Kong. The device set me back about $25 with shipping. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ... 3D1&_rdc=1 Once I woke it up, and paired it to my HTC EVO, I played around with it for a bit, and let me say I am impressed. You have access to all OBD II standard parameters, like volts, temp, RPM, fuel trim, o2 volts... you can even read and clear fault codes. You can graph them, or have a numerical value... Just really sweet. You can record and download information to your computer too. So if you have an intermittent problem, you hit record, make it happen, then you can look at all the parameters on your PC to pin down what made the fault occur. I've played around with it for a few minutes now, but I am excited as to what it can do, and I haven't even explored the far reaches of its capability yet. I would take pics of it running on my '98 ZJ, but my phone is also my digital camera... ... And my camcorder, and my GPS, and my internet, and my scanner now! Here is the website for the app: http://torque-bhp.com/ Here is a vid that was linked from the Torque forum: Got to love technology! Now I always have an OBD II scanner in my pocket! Rob L.
  3. Wish I could update here, but my real MJ's are putting a damper on my mini MJ's. Rob L. :(
  4. You work at the RDC? Angela's brother hauls for them, and always parks there instead of leaving... He's in a Red Roehl truck. I should tell him to look for your MJ. Or just head over by the gates... He likes to hang out in there inbetween loads. Name is Chris. Rob L. Cool, we don't see the drivers much (at least not in shipping) but Ill keep an eye out for him, when does he haul for 'em? He says that if you park by the edge of the road he'll keep an eye out for your truck. I'll send him a pic. He's in Ohio tonight, but says he will be coming back in tomorrow. I am going to take a pic of your truck off CC, and pic mail it to him. Rob L. What happened to all your pics from when it was yours? It no longer has a plow on it, and the @$$ end isn't 5 feet in the air. Rob L. :D
  5. Use the motor from a power wheelchair. Power forward and reverse, with plenty of power available to turn the wheel. I mean it was made to move a person, so the torque to move a wheel is minimal. Rob L.

  10. ...Pontiac Aztek ever...
  11. Well, Its finally happened, again. Back when I was living with ma and her 1 car garage, I had taken over her garage with my amassed collection of MJ parts. She was nice enough to buy me a 10 x 10 shed to get her garage back, which meant I had a shed AND a garage to fill with stuff. After selling off the whole lot, MJ's and all when I moved out, she had all the space to herself again. Now at my new place I had a 2 car garage to fill, and installed an attic ladder in the garage, so I had enough to get me by. But, the "big" items started to take up valuable real estate in the garage. I/E, the Factory plow, the long and short bed roll bars, tires, wheels, engines, trannys... Ugh. So I was on the hunt for a new shed. I set myself a goal of $500, and took a liking to the "Composite" sheds. (Vinyl.) Being that they were about $850 without floor, I hit up the local CL. Ended up finding an 10 x 7.5 Suncast, with floor for $550. Took my trailer, a buddy, and some tools up to get it. Quickly realized that this was a one time shed. Everything snapped together. After about 2 hours of fumbling with flat head screwdrivers and snap tabs in the dark, it was loaded up. Trailer came loose on the way home, but no big deal... Little damage, but all in all ok. Had to replace some lumber and plywood, but got the foundation leveled off on split faced cinder blocks, and anchored down with some drill in anchors and u-bolts... It literally had no screws besides some to hold the flooring together. I just substituted all those with wood screws and fender washers to keep the shed firm to the foundation. Once the floor was done, it took me and the girlfriend about 25 minutes to put the shed up. The peak of the roof had these white ridge pieces that got brittle and cracked, so I stumbled onto this piece of clearance pole barn panel that was a perfect color. Even had a ridge bent into it already. Some brown pole barn screws, silicone caulk, and we were in business. Just had to tin-snip off the extra. All in all, I think I am about $650 into it. With a new one costing $850 plus all the wood, and materials, I am pretty pleased. I have a solar spot light I'm going to toss up on the end so I can keep an eye on it at night and I am done. Its pretty solid, and better than those cheapo tin sheds. Pretty cool that it matches the house color too. TIME TO FILL IT UP! Rob L.
  12. That truck might be best as a donor, sorry to say. A rotten frame is a tough repair for the beginner welder, and not only that, but being a "boxed" uniframe, its probably pretty thin in more than that one spot. If if were myself, I'd find a good truck with a bad drivetrain, and see how much the guy is willing to go down on his with the rotten frame. Assuming that "1 ton" you are referring to is Metric ton, with plow and tow package, I would go $1000 tops, and that is really pushing it. For $1000 it had better have good wheels and tires, clean interior, GREAT running engine, and a solid drivetrain. I've bought a running driving Metric ton that needed brake lines with tow and plow package for $650, after he removed the plow. Ran like a top. They are out there, just don't bite off more than you can chew. Rob L.
  13. I'm going to say that you guys should just find another 60 degree GM V-6. 3.1, 3.4... It will still be GM junk, but less junky that the 2.8. Oh, and it will bolt right in. Rob L.
  14. PM sent. Rob L.
  15. There used to be a good crash test video of an '86 MJ on youtube, but it looks like the person who had it up removed it. I clicked the link I had, and I just got an error message. http://www.ask.com/videos/watch-video/1 ... peg?ver=11 Found a test page from '86 with MJ mention though... http://www.iihs.org/externaldata/srdata/docs/sr2110.pdf Rob L.

  17. Thanks for the comments guys. Dunno why my garage is something to be envied... Its pretty small. As for the toolbox, she's my baby. I love my tools. Afterall, we would be useless without wrenches, sockets, pliers, and other things to get us through the day. The toolbox is from when I worked for Ford and had my own box/tools. Now that I work for the city, they supply a box and tools for use... That means my baby got to come home. Its a Matco Box, and I love it. I picked it up for $3300 before trade back in '05. Then I still had to fill it with tools. I keep it waxed about once a year, and keep it covered with the custom cover if I am doing something with a bunch of dust or not using it for awhile. And the most impressive drawer, usually gets ooh's and aah's from guys who stop by... I even have a few socket trays out and about, and some sockets out, so thats even a bit empty. Oh, and this is another lifesaver: Its great to use the cart when working in the driveway. I can throw a tray of sockets in along with the tools I'll need, and just wheel it out. No progress this week. Been busy getting a shed. More updates as I go. Rob L.
  18. I had noticed our "extra" smileys had gone away after the reformat, and now have all shown up next to the reply page... Seemed to happen overnight or something. Nothing has changed on my end except the smileys. Rob L.
  19. Something that I have long thought about is this. My suggestion, would be to find a longbed MJ topper in the aluminum variety, and skin it. You will be left with just the structural braces inside, and build off that. Cheap, easy, and strong. Rob L.
  20. Looks like I should have looked at more than just the wiring... On the way home, the trailer popped loose at 60 MPH... I caught the moment it happened in the rearview... I had looked back out of habit, and all of a sudden saw yellow spark arcing over the trailer, tried to slow it down, but it went crazy, hopped side to side a bunch (enough to see the tongue in the side mirror lit up by brake lights), and slammed into the back of the MJ a few times before I could stop. No major damage, one good dent in the tailgate, but I am replacing the bed/gate in due time anyway. Hooked it back up, and drove 20 miles home. Could have been MUCH worse. Not even a little pissed/bummed considering the potential for carnage, and the not-so-bad outcome. (Well besides my nerves... :ack: ) Pics of the dent tomorrow. Still can't hold the camera still enough for it to focus. :clapping: Rob L. Well, got some pics. The whole shebang. 10 X 7.5 Suncast Vinyl shed and 2 X 6 foundation boards. Where the tongue kissed the tailgate and bumper. It doesn't look like much, but TRUST me when I say I thought I was about to loose it when that trailer started catching air, and jumping side to side, tires screeching. But, had to be excited that that was the only damage I received. Rob L.
  21. Got a set, don't know what they go for... Shoot me a price. Located in Harvard, IL, 60033. Rob L.
  22. Some Toyotas did... Rob L.
  23. Yep. One flew/jumped/got knocked off, because when I came to a stop, there was but one still attached. Rob L. 8)
