  1. No offense taken... Just sounded a bit, harsh. Yeah. I like the top a lot. I bet they kept the same shell, but changed the look and the style as the times changed over 6 years, or possibly depending on the availability of such and such windows. I've never used it, but plan on taking full advantage of it when I finally get it out camping/wheeling... I would like to make some sort of stand for it though, so I could leave it behind at the campsite when I wheel. I can take pics of the inside of my hatch if you would like... I bet the dual latch would be easy to duplicate with the parts on hand. As for the reefer vote... Make it legal, tax the bajezus out of it. Make some revenue. Rob L.
  2. Back to the top to make sure everyone see's the challenge. Rob L.

  4. Nope, this: http://www.primaindustries.it/_admin/pr ... 1130951895 Rob L.
  5. And... since this frosty Miller took my edge off, I can address the non-attitude filled part of your post. Nope, on my snugtop, it does not look like they made a provision for a cargo light if you have one... Definitely wouldn't seal with one in place. The rack was custom made in Cali, where the truck is from. A welding outfit made it up so it would fit over the topper. Its made of steel, but its relatively light, and strong. My truck also, is a Metric Ton from factory. It also has an extra set of helpers, on top of the additional strength of the Metric Ton springs. Post up pics of your topper if you would like. I would be interested to see what changed from my 1987 Snugtop to your 1991 Snugtop. Rob L.

Now its time for the lesson. JUST BECAUSE IT DOESN'T LOOK LIKE YOUR SNUGTOP, DOES NOT MEAN IT ISN'T ONE. Fresh from the presses. Put that in your pipe and smoke it. Rob L.
  7. Join the club... Wait. Rob L.
  8. You can pick up a digital format of the Factory service manual for about $20 on ebay. I have the '92 Jeep FSM CD... Its a Chrysler Restoration Product, and is the exact same thing as the $100 service manual in PDF format. Rob L.
  9. What did you find? Hopefully not that black one in the suburbs that used to be red, and isn't an eliminator... Rob L.
  10. You guys get it knocked? Or do you still need me to swing by? Rob L. :dunno:
  11. Good place as any to show other MJ specific ones... Rob L. :dunno:
  12. MJ original. I believe its a snug top. Has a gasket between the topper and cab so you can open the slider up and its still weather tight. Rob L.
  13. Absolutely. After I find out what drivetrain I am staring down, the ol' back axle gets a looking at. Nice find there kid. Rob L.
  14. Ain't that the sad truth about all of us. :D Rob L.
  15. Figured that had you a bit bitter. Rob L.
  16. Better question: What happens if we get 60, then what? Let's go for 70? Records are supposed to be spontaneous, not manufactured. Records aren't records because "They just happened...". Didn't know Olympic atheletes just showed up on d-day and hoped that it would "just happen". Come on Don! Don't go salty on me now! Rob L.
  17. Exactly. :smart: Rob L.
  18. I was just kidding. I just wanted you to realize that passing up a rust free tailgate just because the insides were gone is a bad reason to pass up a perfect gate. I'll put the insides from a rusted out junk gate in a clean one all day, than deal with a whole rusty tailgate. Rob L. 8)
  19. Oh, and here's food for though... Those of use with smart phones... Even if you log on from a smart phone to CC... You are still "on". Oh yeah baby! Lets make this happen! Rob L.

This little truck has been a part of my life for over six years now. I bought it with the intentions of needing a truck but not needing 4wd. Shortly after purchasing the truck I started school and also started tinkering on it. Drove it for a while… worked on it in the evenings after school… drove it for a while… lifted it with junkyard parts and custom made shackles to level it out… drove it for a while… bought a junk XJ as a donor and did the 4wd swap over spring break and added the 31s… drove it for a while… took it apart all the way down to nothing to start over. Yeah… it’s been a long and rough ride! Almost a year after I was done in school, the project grew into an engine rebuild and some bodywork… and so it sat for too long. Let’s put this on hold for a moment. Life took over: bought a house, got married, built my shop, bought another MJ, built it up, stripped it down, sold the MJ, changed jobs… where was my little Eliminator? The poor truck (with a fresh motor) bounced between my uncle’s barn and my cousin’s cold storage for over two years until I had room to take it back. Fast forward to right now. The bodywork is done, new paint, put it all back together and over four months later it’s all coming together. Mechanically, this truck is completely freshened up… pretty much a brand new, 22 year old Jeep… with 240,000 miles on it! All in all, my truck has been a huge part of my life. I’m not set on one story that defines what I remember about it. As I’ve changed and grew, my truck changed and grew. As I moved around, it followed me. As my life speeds up and slows down, this little guy has always been there for me. Let's take a look back... Started building some stuff... Then some other stuff hapened... Which brings us up to here... where lots of stuff happened!!! viewtopic.php?f=7&t=14877 What owner loves best about CC: Comradery. These trucks are getting harder to find and the fact that we can all come here with this common interest is amazing. We play nice together. We swap ideas and tips. We let each other know what kind of a day we are having as if we all know each other. So much of the time, a new member shows up and instantly there is the familiar “Welcome to CC!”, “Join the madness!”, and “Beer’s in the fridge!”. We all know and live with these trucks and we all have our own stories about them. Somehow, most seem to start with the common theme of falling into MJs by accident and finding our way here. Some of us have sold our trucks. Some of us can’t stand to work on them anymore. Some park their projects for years only to come back to them as if seeing an old friend again. Some drive their trucks everyday and others drive them only on special occasions. The point is: with all the different ways we enjoy our trucks we all come back here and let the others know what’s happening. Then we all listen… talk a little bit… Call it a brotherhood, fellowship, society, or clique… we all call it the Comanche Club! Ben, let's just say that you made it easy to spotlight this truck. The through build thread, the detail on the engine, step by step, as it went from stock to current. That truck is a thing of beauty. I have had the unbelievable chance to see it in person, and it looks even better one on one. But, This is just as much about the member as the truck, and I know you have gone personally above and beyond for a few members, including myself. Just talking to you about the class you teach, and the young MJ'er you have in there is a great thing. We all have to to keep the torch lit on these old Jeeps, and yours definitely is one that sparks interest among new members, as well as old ones. Ben, Congrats on November's MJOTM, keep the good work up brotha. Be sure to tell the class. Rob L.
  21. You need to go back for that gate. I have a rusted out one thats complete, that I will trade you for that useless rust free one thats been picked apart. Rob L.
  22. Thursday made sense to me, as a night when I wouldn't believe there is many things keeping people from home. I know a lot of after school things that happen Mon, Tue, Wed, and many people won't be home on a Fri night being out and about... Just thought it would be a good jumping off point... No idea... I wouldn't think so. If its been done once to 58 with no dire results, I think we could do it again... Rob L.
  23. Well, with the talk of active and not active members... It got me thinking... For some reason: I have went back to that day in the archives, nothing really exciting was happening... Now, I would like to see if we can break that. I can't believe that the most active time in the group was in 2007, as it seems like we get new members everyday. So, this is what I propose. We try for a Thursday night, maybe 10 Eastern, 9 central... Yadda, yadda, to get as many people on as possible. So I would like to try for this Thursday, 11/4/10. 10:00 PM Eastern, 9:00 PM Central, 8:00 PM Mountain, 7:00 PM Pacific. Report to CC, and do whatever, or we can use this thread as a meeting point. I can't stand for the record being 3 years ago... Lets blow the doors off this motha'. Rob L. 8)
  24. VIN? Did it still have the body kit? How much if you sent me the glovebox door with the tag on it? Rob L. Didn't get the VIN. Every piece of the body kit was trashed. The glovebox didn't have the tag. But I could see the outline of where it was before someone snagged it. Crap. Thanks. Hey, did anyone ever get the body kit off of that other one? I know Don was interested... Rob L. :dunno: No. When I went back to pull the parts for Don, the Jeep was gone. :fs2: Rob L.
